I highly recommend Prof Rick. I took firearms training with him. It was very comprehensive and enjoyable. My children and myself have been taking martial arts lessons from him as well. So informative and empowering. His has an amazing amount of knowledge that he is always willing to share. You won't be disappointed going there.
I would do it but I don't like the outfit--wish you could just wear sweats.
I recently participated in a self defense class with Rick LeClair and had a wonderful experience! Rick presented the information and instruction in such a clear and effective way. I encourage anyone to get educated by Budo Kai about how to protect yourself with confidence.
Recently took a self defense class that really opened my mind to be more self-aware of my surroundings, it was very informative and I’m very thankful with Professor Rick for teaching me such useful information.

I recently took a self defense class with Prof. Rick LeClaire and I do not do well with any classes but he got my attention. He is an excellent teacher and all he spoke of was absolutely a wake up call to me for which I am forever grateful. I have never paid any attention to details of being aware of my surrounding but now that the World is fallen apart I need all the help I need to pay attention to my surrounding and hold toomy faith in our Savior no matter what comes our way.......Thank you Rick for your heart to keep us focus. Professor Rick LeClair’s self defense class was very enlightening, informative and empowering! I learned to be more aware of my surroundings and how to defend myself if need be. It was enjoyable and Prof. LeClair is an excellent instructor! I would recommend this class or any of the martial arts classes at Budo Kai.
I took the gun safety class today and I could not be happier with the way the class turned out very Educational and just a downright great environment thank you to Rick LeClair and his wife
I’ve been a student of the Budo Kai Martial Arts Institute on and off since the late 90s and there is no better martial arts institute around. I signed up my daughters, Stephanie and Stacy in 2017 at the ages of 10 and 7. On the days they may not feel like going, I explain to them that their black belt is just as important to me as their High School diploma. When I’m no longer here and they have their High School diploma, I can Rest In Peace knowing that they can take care of themselves financially. At the same time !!! When I’m no longer here and they have their black belts, I can Rest In Peace knowing that they can take care of themselves physically. There is no better feeling in the world for a father than to know his girls can take care of themselves both financially and physically. I would highly recommend the Budo Kai Martial Arts Institute to any parent that feels the same way. - David Butler
