Great place to start your kids for martial arts! My son has been going for a few weeks now and loves it! Everyone is super friendly and the teacher are great. 100% recommend
Highly recommended! After more than one year of classes my grandson still loves karate. I can't say enough wonderful things about every staff member I've come across. They're also educated in child development and treat the children so well I believe we have found our "village"!
Sensei Rich and all the Senpais are absolutely amazing working individually with children and in a group teaching skills which help with focus, paying attention, confidence and following directions all while learning karate. My son has thrived in this setting, graduating all the way through 3 classes Tiny Tigers, Basic Skillz, and Core Skillz. I have seen tremendous growth in my son through this journey.
Borges is a great places for kids to learn skills that will help them in life. They teach kids and adults to be respectful and to help out other people. My daughter has been going for just over a year and loves it. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to get into martial arts.
We started at Borges 3 years ago and could not be happier. Our sons' confidence and ability to focus have grown each year. The staff is one of a kind, building the kids up with positive reinforcement while teaching them martial arts and just as importantly, life skills. Highly recommend!!!
I found this place at the perfect time as my child was struggling emotionally and had low confidence and self esteem.. they've been taking classes and learning and really enjoying karate. I've seen an improvement in my child so much already and it has really helped them and given them something to look forward to. Highly recommend
My kids started attending classes when they were 4 and 5 year old. Now they are 5 & 6 and love it. Borges Martial Arts, does a great job of skill development, instilling discipline and creating a welcoming family environment. As someone who has studied martial arts for 30 years I would highly recommend them.

My 7 year old Mia absolutely loves the Core SKILLZ program. I am very impressed with how amazing everyone has been. All of the staff are outstanding with children.

My Daughter is learning Focus and structure from the Karate Instructors. She absolutely Loves it here and all the instructors. She has fun while learning valuable Life skills. We are so happy to have her part of the program. Highly recommend.
At BMA, your child is more than just a number. They provide personalized attention to ensure they achieve their goals. I have my 5 and 4 year old attending. They are always so exited to attend lessons.

My 6yo loves taking classes here. All of the instructors are great, and provide a well structured environment that still allows the kids to have fun, and enjoy class.

Sensei Rich has been a positive influence in our families' lives for over 3 years now😊. My two sons train here many times a week, and attend the summer camp! They have matured so much because they get to have fun while learning about discipline, respect, and other important life skills.

Attending Borges Martial Arts over the last 6 months has been a great experience for our son Jacob. Mr Borges is a genuine person who teaches technique but also often takes the time to explain the reasoning behind the move. Students learn individually but also as a team. They also offer the opportunity to compete in local tournaments, which has been rewarding. We highly recommend checking out this dojo.
My 5yo daughter was really interested in starting karate. I looked around the Gardner area including some options in Leominster but Borges stood out. I was impressed by the pre-screening process. It showed Rich really cared about her success and wanted to ensure she started in the right class. The classes are a perfect balance of structure and fun. There's fitness, life lessons and games that teach teamwork. Its been a few months now and she loves going! She even asked us to come home from vacation just for karate because she didn't want to miss a week. I'd highly recommend and I'm super excited to see her continue to grow and learn with Borges.
My 5 year-old-daughter loves Sensei Rich and going to her twice weekly martial arts classes.
Parents can watch the class take place from a loft viewing area. It is a nice, large, very clean facility. Covid-19 guidelines and social distancing rules are followed for students and parents, which makes me feel confident that I’ve chosen the right space for my daughter.
My daughter’s focus has improved greatly since starting classes and I’m grateful for the kindness, patience, and guidance that Sensei Rich has given her. 10/10 would recommend.
I would highly recommend the Borges 10 Week C.O.B.R.A. course. It is engaging from the start, and no time is wasted. Not only do you get extensive and practical hands on training, but you also get detailed reality-based scenarios. This lends important context to each move because it is vital to know in a life threatening situation. I feel safer, stronger, and much more aware for having taken this course. If you are looking for a dojo that lends true value, comaraderie, and preparedness, then look no further.
Excellent facility. Took Kickboxing classes, lots of options for scheduling and accommodates all skill levels. Instructors are great. Would definitely recommend!
After visiting numerous dojos in the area, Borges martial arts was a clear choice for our boys. We drove twice the distance, from the nearest dojo, to bring our family here. The professionalism and dedication Rich delivers, makes for a great learning environment. He was able to connect with each child in the class- this was important because not all kids learn the same way. We noticed an immediate increase of respect and discipline in our kids. I would highly advise Borges Martial Arts for anyone, of any age, that is seeking discipline from an awesome teacher.
We've had a wonderful experience at Borges Martial Arts. Classes have had a positive impact on our daughter's focus, confidence and overall mood. Sensei Rich is fabulous.
