This is a great atmosphere that focuses on team building and having fun; my kids have been going between 2 years to half a year and they sincerely enjoy it; Prof Christina ensures that the kids classes are well run and all students are respected; my kids have taken a passion to BJJ thanks to Prof Christina and her team; the school is welcoming, equipment is great and mats are excellent for the sport.
Best kids confidence gym in Winnipeg in my opinion! I love how the sensei focuses on verbal dispute resolution in her approach to teaching a self defence styled discipline of jujitsu. Gracie techniques are taught and give the kids a whole next level of confidence. Only positive interactions are supported to create that sportsmanship mentality young. Parents are welcomed in the gym and on the mat to help kids become more comfortable too. This very family oriented environment creates such a positive space to foster all the best parts of martial arts! Even the costs reflect the ability for family inclusiveness for all to take part! Highly recommend!
I have been bringing my family to Brazil-021 Winnipeg under Professor Christina for a few years now. We have learned a lot in our time here and Christina has been very supportive and especially helped me grow in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. While the school may be smaller than some in other, it feels like a community I am welcome at anytime I am on the mats.
Good facility for Jiu Jitsu. Instructors very engaged with students. Professor Christina has infectious energy and loves what she does.
Christina is fabulous and so are her team of assistant and junior coaches. There is a great family atmosphere where everyone is working to help everyone improve. We have our daughters enrolled and it is so cool for them to have Christina as such a strong female role model. She is also great at breaking down the moves and frequently reviewing so you can enrol anytime. Within the first class they had some basic self defence skills they could use if needed. As you progress through they really learn the self defence component and also skills for actually competing in jiu jitsu. It is a neat sport, very chess like and strategic as you get to learn more about it. My kids’ confidence has grown so much since we started.
