My son has been attending Black Dragon Martial Arts for about three years, and it's been a fantastic experience for him. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE Black Dragon Martial Arts. Our son Amari has been apart of the black dragon family for 3 years, it has built his confidence, strength, and mindset all the while making new friends. Black dragon has an amazing after school program which is a big help to me and my husband, they treat us as family or as one of their own. Long Term Review: My kids have been attending Black Dragon Martial Arts for three years. Black Dragon TKD is a competitively priced family owned Dojang setting themselves apart from other schools through Integrity, Service before self, and Patience. Starting with a student’s first day, the owners and instructors prioritize a student’s needs, listen to parent’s concerns, and collaboratively develop a program with intervals/days addressing age and skill set. Weekly classes often go beyond scheduled times as instructors take additional time to further instill lessons on Courage, Honor, and Respect. As a parent of two kids under 12, I have witnessed my kids evolve from “deer in the headlights” white belts, to confident and compassionate students within reach of their black belts.

I can’t say enough of great things for BLACK DRAGONS family and I say family is because that’s how they make you feel! They are one big family! The other parents & their children that have joined BLACK DRAGON have treated me and my whole family with kindness and made us feel so very welcoming on our first day. Lillia whole class greeted her into the family of BLACK DRAGON and she was so shy at the beginning it encouraged & and gave her confidences to come back. My granddaughter had been through so much when we started going to them and they have built up her confidence. She has enjoyed being part of BLACK DRAGON. We don’t plan on leaving them anytime soon, she wants to go and learn more. And become a Black Dragon black belt. She was hooked after her first day. Black Dragon is a wonderful place for your children. They treat the children so well and the instructors are patient, kind and thorough. I have seen their van driving frequently around town and their drivers are always very careful. I would not hesitate to use their after school program! We have been going to Black Dragon for 6 years, started in the afterschool program and now we've done everything from afterschool care, summer camp, evening classes, competition team, and parents night out! My kids have learned so much, not just martial arts but valuable life lessons and skills such as self control, integrity, perseverance, and indomitable spirit! Even after 6 years my son looks forward to going to class every week. The team at Black Dragon has been great and always has what's best for their students in mind!

Black Dragon, hands down is the best place! The coaches and staff are amazing!!! I really can't say that enough!!! My 14 year old daughter has been going since January 2020 and my 19 year old son with Down Syndrome started 2021and goes 1-2 times a month when his other activities allow (he also sometimes requires his sister in the room with him just to keep him on task) and they are absolutely amazing with both of them!
I highly recommend black dragon for after school, summer camp, and night classes. My son has attended for about 4 years and has learned discipline, focus, and self control. This is a great option to keep kids active and involved. The instructors are amazing and really care about the kids.

Before I started at Black Dragon I was in a very dark place mentally. But this atmosphere has done wonders for me. The time and attention to detail the instructors take is none that I’ve seen. Going the extra mile would be an understatement!!!

We bought the trial package on a whim when it was on sale for black friday and then waited almost a year before even going in for the first time. We had no idea how much we were going to love it. My 5 year old used to have anxiety but now he says "I know taekwondo" in response to a lot of his fears. 😂 he used to refuse to sleep in his own room because he said bad guys could come in the window.. now he says if bad guys came in the window he'd just ax kick them lol. So he has definitely gained confidence during his time here. We love black dragon! Edit to add: we stayed home for about a year due to covid but I want to praise the black dragon team for their efforts in keeping everyone safe during strange times. We did online classes for a short time and now we've recently returned and they've added on a whole extra room for parents to watch their kids to help with social distancing. 👍🏻
The dedication the Black Dragon team has with those kids is nothing less than incredible. The day you bring your child to Black Dragon, you are family. Every person that interacts with your child will be excited to see them, go out of their way to make them feel comfortable and my favorite part... They call your child by name. My 3 yo started ~ 4 weeks ago. At first I wasn’t sure if he would even participate but on the first day he jumped right in. He use to give up so easily if he didn’t know how to do something but since we started going to Black Dragon Martial Arts his confidence has grown. He absolutely loves going to class. If he could have his way we would sit outside all day everyday and wait for his class to start. I’m so glad we found Black Dragon and I’m so excited to watch as he grows.
We love Black Dragon! My boys have enjoyed classes and learning. We have been so impressed with the staff and teachers. They handled the pandemic so well! During the shutdown the boys were able to do classes at home via Zoom. Mr. Nick and the staff continually improved their technology to make the classes better and better. When we were finally able to return to in person classes, my son said, “It just felt right to be there in the building.” My boys are so proud when they earn a new belt. Their self esteem has definitely improved this year.
Black Dragon Martial Arts is awesome! They are super friendly and I love the fact that they keep their classes down to 12 kids. This allows the instructors to give more focus and attention to the kids. Also, they only allow 2 new kids per class to ensure that the new kids get extra attention. My oldest has been attending the after school and summer programs for about a year and a half now and absolutely LOVES it. Her behavior has improved tremendously in just a short amount of time. She just recently earned her green belt and is constantly telling me that she wants to do the work to some day become a black belt! All the staff is great and their communication is top notch. Enrolled my five year old in November and instantly he fell in love with it after the second class we are already had signed him up for an additional 12 weeks great people great value very professional sanitary throughout this COVID-19.
I enrolled my 6 year old in Black Dragon’s after school program at the beginning of the school year and am so happy that I did! He was so scared and shy his first day there, but you would never know that now. His confidence has soared, he is more respectful at home and at school and is physically stronger and much more active. We love Black Dragon. My son was always hesitant about trying new things. The first few times we went the staff was wonderful about helping him to feel comfortable and let me sit inside the room during the class. Now he asks to go even on the nights he doesn’t have class.
My daughter is in her second year attending during the after school program and to say we are pleased would be an understatement. The staff is attentive and strive to engage the children no matter what age of the child. The offerings of the child care is a plus due to travel/school schedules they are almost always available. Two of my children are students here. My 12 year old daughter went from being shy and meek, to doing roundhouse kicks and breaking boards. She has really blossomed under the evening class instruction by Marty, Nick, and Andy, with coaching and encouragement by Merida. My 6 year old son went from temper tantrums to saying yes sir within four days of being enrolled in summer camp. He now goes to the after school program where he gets daily lessons and fun time with friends. The summer camp is expensive but worth every dollar. They don’t keep the kids cooped up in one place. They took field trips nearly every day to local attractions, parks, swimming, and hiking. My son really loves it here. Krystal and Kaylen are his 2 favorite teachers and they are just great. If you want a place where your kids will learn respect, discipline, and how to succeed, this is the place for you and them.

Black Dragon Martial Arts is the best decision I’ve made for my son. Jonathan did not want to do anything but play video games and eat ( which was my fault) we have been at Black Dragon Martial Arts since October of 2018 and I have seen a transformation in my sons physical appearance, his attitude has improved. Of course discipline and respect is taught here. The instructors are an amazing influence on my son. I absolutely love this place and man can he kick now. When he began he couldn’t hardly lift his legs. He has been taught so much. I recommend their facility because they are family to ya!!!!

The instructors here all helped my son out tremendously. I spoke openly with them about my son's medical issues and they welcomed him with open arms. They take the time to get to know EVERY SINGLE STUDENT (child and adult) and how to train each person correctly. I always recommend Black Dragon Martial Arts when someone is looking to enroll at a Martial Arts school.

One of our sons has been going here for 4 years and is now an official Black Belt. Our other son has been in it for a little over a year now. All of this to say we have enjoyed bringing the kids here where they not only learn taekwondo, but they learn some self-defense, as well as manners and discipline. Management has always been very personable, friendly, and open to feedback, but I am hoping to see some improvement in the out-of-town competition aspect of the program. Thank you Black Dragon team.

During my kid’s 5wks of intro classes at this school I noticed some red flags. Instructor screamed and yelled at a young girl, student and kicked her out of the room, crying her eyes out. I witnessed at least 2 of the advanced class students obtain injuries during practice, one of them severely enough they didn’t return for a week. There were ZERO women instructors or class helpers for the whole time we attended. That was 5 wks, 3 nights per week. It’s taken me a long time to finally write this review, the business hasn’t harmed me personally or my kid but I would do my research and look around town for other places, go check them out PLEASE. Black Dragon was also more expensive than the school we ended up with and my kid learned more in 2 days of class at the current school than 5 wks here.
I feel like the cost is high enough and then you pay $50 extra each time they test for a new belt I had my kids at bushido school of karate and the only went for a summer program and no extra costs for belts also they tested when they were ready and here they test after they get 12 green stripes regardless if they are ready before which to get 12 stripes you have to attend about 3 months For more than one child attending these prices were definately not affordable to me that adding the 30 min drive twice a week because i didnt live intown
