Grounds is great. I love training jiu-jitsu there. And it's an awesome spot for kids to engage in enriching activities instead of more screen time. The owners are lovely people that put their hearts into everything that they do. The space is so relaxing and I always feel such a great energy there. It's always first on my list of places to go when I visit Colorado.

Mike and Sheena have an amazing space and their personalities and teaching styles are very welcoming and accessible at all skill levels. They are a dynamic jiu jitsu power couple, and Grounds is a wonderful space to train….especially if you like a cup of coffee!

Mike and Sheena are great. They provide high quality technical jiu-jitsu instruction that all levels - white belt to black belt - can immediately implement in their games. And more importantly - they are fun and friendly people! Check out Grounds.

I can’t say enough great things about training with Mike & Sheena Bidwell. Their passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is unmatched, and it shows in every aspect of their teaching. They both have a very unique approach to instruction that blends traditional fundamentals with a creative flow that keeps every class engaging and effective. The atmosphere at the school is welcoming, inclusive, and full of positive energy. Mike & Sheena have cultivated a team that feels more like a family, where everyone supports each other’s growth. It’s the kind of environment where you’re constantly inspired to push your limits while feeling completely supported. If you’re looking for a top-tier jiu-jitsu experience with a world-class instructors, I highly recommend Mike & Sheena's Academy.(Grounds) Their dedication, expertise, and passion for the art make this place truly special. I started my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu path with Profs Mike & Sheena Bidwell at Grounds (formerly known as Flo Life BJJ+) in December 2023. I'd wanted to train BJJ for several years, but didn't know where to begin. I felt a little nervous walking into a school and assumed everyone would be much more advanced than myself. A friend recommended I check out this school, stating he trainined with Mike and that he is a "world class instructor" who focuses on safety in his step-by-step curriculum. I called the school and spoke to Sheena. She he invited me to come in and try a class for free. It took a couple weeks for me to do so, but as soon as I came in I saw there several other students who were just beginning and I felt comfortable right away. That's when my path began. I immediately enrolled my 3 kids into classes where they received the skills and knowledge needed to become confident in life, not to mention they learned how to defend themselves in threatening situations and receieved a high-level of physical exercise. I'll be turning 40 in a few months and am grateful to have found a school that puts safety first and advances students only when they are ready. I will say you need to earn your promotions, which is what I was looking for. I've trained 3-4 days per week for the past 25 months and have also taken private lessons from both Mike and Sheena. They push me to become better and I am always comfortable with their assesment of my progression. I've grown in many ways during these past 2 years and attribute a large amount of my success to training at Grounds. Do yourself a favor; if you've been wanting to train BJJ at a clean and safe school, reach out to Mike and Sheena and come in to try out a class.
