Coach Jose is really great with the students. No matter the age or experience of the person he meets them where they are and motivates them to get to the next level. You can tell everyone here really cares. Plus, the school is clean and welcoming.

My brother got me hooked on bjj and ever since I started here it’s been phenomenal , the people and the environment makes this place an amazing gym. So I have not had a single bad day nor time here, amazing spot definitely recommend.

We just hosted my son's 7th birthday party here and let me tell you, this was the BEST venue I've hosted a birthday party at yet! Jose and Alex gave a fun and informative introductory crash course into Jiu Jitsu that was enjoyed by all the kids there. They offered playtime on the mats after pizza and cake and were helpful during the entire process. If I could give more stars I would!

I've been training at BCBJJ for about 7 weeks now, and it's been an amazing experience. The environment is incredibly welcoming, and it's clear that everyone genuinely enjoys being there. I have had a great experience at this gym. I learn a lot of good techniques that work well with my style. Jose takes the time to show you techniques properly. There is a lot of competition in the class and lots of drilling.

The people here are wonderful! Very kind, knowledgeable, helpful and flexible. I am a single mom and lots of things come up, but there are many classes you can go to so it all works out. The kids and I both participate! They have their priorities straight. Rare to find these days!

My girls have been training with Mr. Jose for a few months now and they absolutely love it. He is great with keeping kids engaged, teaching them Jiu-jitsu moves all a while making it fun for kids. I highly recommend them.

Berks County BJJ is not only great place to start your martial arts journey, but it is also a welcoming environment to sharpen your existing skills and excel to the next level. The individuals at Berks County BJJ welcomed me into the room and immediately started challenging me to push myself to the next level. There is great class availability and Jose and Erik are always willing to help explain something or give insight. There is also a new kickboxing and strength program that is sure to push you even further. If I didn’t move out of the area I would still be visiting 3-4 times a week. Oh and brand new mats just got installed! Definitely check it out.

Ich bin momentan für 6 Monate in den USA und wollte mein Kampfsporttraining erweitern. Dabei bin ich auf das BC BJJ gestossen. Als Frau sind neue Trainingsplätze immer etwas einschüchternd, aber Trainer José hat mich super ins Training eingeführt und der gegenseitige Umgang mit allen ist sehr respektvoll. Super Trainings und es hat für jeden was dabei.👍🏻👍🏻

This gym is one of the most welcoming MMA gyms I've been to. As a woman, it can be intimidating to go to different places to train; however, Berks County JJ makes you feel comfortable and provides some of the highest quality teaching. Would recommend to any and everyone!

Reached out to the owner, Coach Jose, about trying out his school while I’m home for a couple weeks. Was super cool inviting me in for their weekend open mat and went over the schedule for when I want to come try out my first class free. Loved the atmosphere, people, and pace of the class. Felt super welcome right off the bat and can’t beat his price for the quality of training you can get. The only downside of going here is wishing I knew about this place sooner!

Despite the common idea of jui jitsu and other martial arts being seemingly intimidating, BCBJJ is a home of educators and friends. The community within these classes is a great balance of conditioning, learning, and compassion. Everyone who comes out to these classes comes to get better, not to flex or pick on the new guy. Taking the first free class is the easiest way to start a great addiction, and to meet a fine group of people.

I was in town in Reading, PA for work and was in hopes of finding a good BJJ academy to train at while in town. Quickly found BCBJJ and what a treat this place was. Great instructors and members - super friendly and welcoming, very inviting, and super hard nosed folks who want to put in work (in the best way). Went to both gi and no gi classes on separate nights and had an absolute blast. Super appreciative to step into a gym with no ego, no shortage of training partners, and a group who just plain and simple gets after it. Thanks for a great time and I look forward to my next Reading trip to get to train here again.

My children ages six and eight have been attending classes at BCBJJ for a few months. Every individual we have met at this facility has been exceedingly welcoming. The highly skilled instructors consistently provide a safe place that builds confidence, instills discipline and grows self esteem for all students. During the childrens classes there are low instructor to student ratios, which facilitates close observation and reinforcement of proper technique. All of the instructors are highly motivating and are truly invested in the success of the participants. I truly cannot say enough positive things about BCBJJ and with gratitude I give them my highest recommendation.

Cannot say enough positive things about BCBJJ! Their facility is clean, staff is incredibly friendly and their attention to detail surrounding technique is by far, the best! My six year old daughter attends their kid classes. To watch her build her confidence and learn how to approach certain situations in a safe and respectful manner, is something that I am truly grateful for. We will be members of the BCBJJ family for years to come!

Absolutely love this place!!! Originally took my kids over the summer to try something new & to help keep them active. I tried the free class & got completely hooked. Everyone I’ve meet & rolled with are so friendly & willing to give you tips along the way. Instructors are very in depth with teaching techniques & breaking everything down in a great way. I would encourage everyone out there to try the free class because it’s the best decision I ever made!!!!

BCBJJ has something for everybody. You'll find classes to be a great melting pot, varied with training partners as well as very skilled and friendly instructors. As someone who has struggled with mental health, I leave practice everyday extremely satisfied and thankful to be apart of the academy and surrounded by amazing people.

Best school in the area hands down! Great environment! Whether you come for BJJ (Gi or No Gi) or Striking you will be taught from the best in this area! The minds behind this school are like no other. They are attentive to you, they will help guide you with whatever you are having trouble with. They will make sure by the end of class you have the tools they taught that day. I heard they offer private lessons as well if you would like a more 1 on 1 approach. No shady contracts! Affordable pricing! Contract or No contract! I was left very satisfied and I'm still practicing here today. I'm very sure you will be left satisfied too! Also I couldn't say this enough there is absolutely no nasty behavior from anyone (Teachers or Students) or ill will towards anyone. Excellent Atmosphere! Try a free class!

Two years ago I walked into Bcbjj with no bjj experience and was immediately greeted with friendly hospitality. Two years later I’ve competed for the school almost 10 times all over the country. BCBJJ has a wide range of members from soccer moms to law enforcement to active competitors to your average hobbiest. The average class probably has 20-30 people with a mixture of students that are brand new to bjj and black belts that have competed at the highest level in the sport, with ages ranging anywhere from 12-65. BCBJJ also has kids classes before the adult classes. Personally I wish I started at 5 years old like some of the kids in the class. BC also has striking classes every day coached by active kick boxers and MMA fighters.

The instructors here are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Giving you the realism of grappling that you are looking for, good practitioners with healthy mindsets. More than accommodating to newer members, some real quality human beings and quality martial arts here. I'd reccomend to just about anyone but especially people that are looking to get in shape in a nice environment while challenging yourself

Came from another gym, after being at the gym for nearly 2 years I decided to try berks Brazilian jiu Jitsu. It was the best decision I made to join them. They have a lot of high level practitioners. They genuinely care about you and are not money hungry like some other gyms. You’ll get what you deserve at this gym!

Trained in the school while visiting family in the area.. super cool vibes and the place looks insane!(in a cool way). Shane is a great instructor and the guys are chill but they put in that WORK!! Solid jiujitsu. This is def the place to be if you want to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Reading.

Instructors are very good at what they do and there is no pressure in registering your child. They want your child to try it and see if he/she likes it before registering. My son has been attending for almost a month and now finally I will register him.

Been training here for some time and cant say enough good things. Great, clean , ego free environment..and plenty of mat space! The instructors and high belts are all very knowledgeable and helpful....helping newer white belts all the way up to seasoned competitiors. Best place for jiu jitsu in the Berks/Reading area hands down!
