I am so grateful for Barrick! My son is very hyper with ADHD and really struggled in school in previous years. But since we’ve been going to BJJ, we have seen such a big change in him. He has gained focus and self control, a desire to learn, and he has found confidence that he never had before. He looks forward to going to class every week. He enjoys all of his fellow students and all of the instructors. I don’t know what we would do without them. It truly is a great place to be. I’m recommended Barrick BJJ everyone, young and old!
Posted 1 year agoVery good place the coaches are very knowledgeable my son has an amazing time since he's started going there he's grown so much would recommend any parents to come check it out
I started my jiu-jitsu journey back in 1995 in the aftermath of Royce Gracie's many victories in the UFC. Since then, I have trained at the Gracie Academy in Torrence, California; multiple times with Renzo Gracie in New York City; multiple times at the Machado Academy in Las Vegas; Mauricio "Tinguinha" Mariano's Academy in Anaheim; I've trained with Royler Gracie, Rickson Gracie, David Adiv, Rozendo Diaz, Robson Maura, Rey Diogo, Allen Goes, Carlson Gracie Jr., and Jack Mcvicker. For the last nine years, I have trained exclusively at Barrick Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. After all of my many jiu-jitsu experiences, I feel that I have found my home at Barrick Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Professor Bryan has found the perfect balance between actually learning the art of jiu-jitsu, and having fun in the process. I highly recommend it.
My son has been learning jujitsu here and I couldn’t be happier with his progress! He’s also found a good sense of community and got comfortable very fast. Amazing place!!!
At 48 years of age, with no previous martial arts training, and at a low point in my life, I started looking into different Jiu Jitsu facilities in my area. I was fortunate enough to find Barrick BJJ in Goshen, Indiana. Fortunate because I stumbled into an incredible gym with an outstanding professor, excellent coaches, and students who are very helpful and supportive of my endeavor, and whom now I consider family. This was a life-changing event for me. Over the past seven years, I have witnessed boys and girls building self-confidence, developing discipline and focus, improving their coordination, and social skills in the kids’ classes. I have watched young men and women with no previous martial arts training learn skills and techniques that made them highly successful in tournament competitions. Males, females, young and old, from all different backgrounds that are looking for a clean, friendly gym to train Jiu Jitsu or boxing should consider Barrick BJJ!!
Great BJJ gym with amazing instructors. Recommended for everyone from beginner to expert.
Love this school. Brian and his assistant teachers are amazing!
El mejor lugar para entrenar jiu jitsu en toda el area de indiana
I have been training at Barricks for over 6 years. It is a great place to train with great people. It's a family atmosphere for all ages. Whether you want to compete, be a hobbiest, get some exercise, or just challenge yourself mentally and physically, Barricks is the place to go.
Great facility! My son has been training at Barrick BJJ since he was 5 and he loves it! Great opportunity for children to learn great skills and keep them off screens!
Love this gym. Started here two years ago with zero experience of BJJ. To say it's changed my life is an understatement. This gym helped an everyday man like me learn a skill, discipline and develop consistency. Anyone (who tries) can learn jiu jitsu. Honored to call this gym my home.
I originally started at Barrick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a parent watching my son train…but after seeing how much he was learning—and how much fun he was having—I wanted to understand and be able to do it myself. So I decided to join, and that decision changed everything! I’ve been training here since 2019, and it has truly become a second home. The coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and break down techniques in a way that’s both detailed and easy to absorb, no matter your experience level. But what really makes this gym stand out is the culture. There are no egos, just a supportive and hardworking community that pushes each other to improve. Every class challenges me and helps me grow, both on and off the mats. Whether you’re new to jiu-jitsu or looking for a gym that feels like family while pushing you to be your best, this is the place. Highly recommend!
This gym is clean. In cardio-kickboxing the workouts are unique each time and always challenging. The instructor is motivating and supportive. The environment is amazing - other class members are friendly. This experience motivates me to be my best self!
From the moment our daughter stepped onto the mat, she was welcomed by an incredible community of passionate and supportive individuals. The atmosphere here is truly special, making it a perfect place for both beginners and experienced practitioners alike. One of the standout aspects of Barrick BJJ is the fantastic coaching staff. If you’re looking for a place to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with amazing people and supportive coaches, look no further than Barrick BJJ!
Love this place!!! Lexi is amazing and a awesome instructor!!
I had a trial class when I was here and the experience was very pleasant. Professor immediately welcomed me on the mat and made sure to partner me with someone who was more experienced (I did have prior experience with BJJ, but still just a white belt) to walk me through techniques. Rolling with these guys was really fun too. Thank you for welcoming me on your mats Professor!
I loved teaching here when I tought kids I would love it I would been able to do it again.and if I would ever be allowed to train here again I would do it in a heartbeat.❤️😀
Definitely recommend. Very effective BJJ methods. Many experienced higher ranks who are very helpful with new students. Training Martial Arts since 1995, I'm very selective about where I train at.
The classes here are great everyone is very welcoming and encouraging! Lexi is very motivating and really gives us a great workout! I definitely recommend trying a women's kickboxing class!
My daughter has taken bjj classes for a few months now. She loves the hands on experience and I appreciate the individual attention she gets from the coaches.
I've been taking the boxing classes here for little over a year now, and I must say that I highly recommend. Since I joined, I've noticed some drastic changes in my health, mainly cardio. Highly recommended.
If I could make the drive I would be here all the time. Super nice facility, quality folks here and the instructors/ students are pretty swell folks! Keep it up! Be blessed!
"5/5 stars! I've been training here for 7 years and it's my second home. Highly skilled professor, amazing kids coaches, incredible community, and top-notch training. I've gained physical fitness confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Love this gym!"
Very clean Jiu Jitsu and Boxing Gym. Very knowledgeable instructors and great group of people wanting to learn! Jiu Jitsu has people from all walks of life gathering in one place for a common goal.
Welcoming to those just starting out or very experienced Jiu Jitsu players. Private lessons are available as well to help tighten up your technique. Would highly recommend this place! At MINIMUM, try the FREE class offered to see what it is like.
Great instruction, great environment, great people!
Best dojo I've ever witnessed. Feels like family, no judgement, all support and knowledge for growth. I drive 45 minutes to be apart of the best dojo around. My little guy is involved with the kid classes and I absolutely love what this gym has to offer 🙌 the teacher is the best, down to earth, not intimidating at all. Super friendly and inviting.
Nice people. I lost every dual but had fun. It's amazing the things that can be done. And they teach techniques in a way that's so easy to remember.
Amazing! Great people very patient with kids!
Brian is an outstanding teacher. Great place to train. Very nice facility.
Highly recommend, everyone is friendly and welling to help. Coach Bud is amazing! I've been training there off/on 1+ years.
Great place to train at the moment you walk in you feel right at home. When first started I told Bryan I was only gonna be there for 3 months cause I had other plans he said that's fine we'll work with for 3 months no problem I started the following week, not once did Bryan treating me different becuse I was only gonna be there for a short period of time. He made me feel part of the team part of a family. And his students now my teammates made feel welcome. After few classes I knew I had found my place I've been there 3 years now... Highly recommend everyone there will take their time to help each other. come on in and give it a try best choice you'll ever made... 💪💪💪TEAMBARRICKBJJ💪💪💪
Great gym, couldn't recommend it enough. Come check out Jiu Jitsu and you will be hooked!
My daughter has attended Barrick Jujitsu for over five years. This is the only activity she has kept in her schedule this long. She feels included and empowered in this dojo and Brian has everything to do with that sentiment. As a parent, I have seen her confidence grow and she’s proud of her self defense skills, which is particularly important as a female. I have no reservations in recommending Barrick jujitsu for children or adults. My husband also enjoyed Bryan’s instruction that built upon his prior martial arts experience in judo and karate. It’s a healthy atmosphere where learning and personal growth, rather than strict competition, is emphasized. Feel free to welcome yourself into the Barrick jujitsu family!
A very welcoming gym. Bryan is a great instructor.
my son started here when he was only 4. professor Bryan's teaching style is fantastic and he and the other coaches are so good with the kids. they make sure they really understand the techniques and in what situations it is appropriate to use them. Great place for kids and adults alike!
Any body can walk in here, and is treated and taught equally. The experience level that Bryan Barrick brings to the mats is that of what you can find at some of the Best known Jiu Jitsu Gyms around the World. Awesome environment and ostonishing people to train with.
Just dropped in for some travelling jitsu. Class was great, teacher was great and the rolls were good. 5/5 would roll again.
Bryan Barrick is a highly effective teacher and a overall great person. Also If you're just getting into BJJ I would recommend his gym because of how much all his students are willing to help you learn.
I can say without any hesitation that this gym is hands down the best in the area! What Bryan, and those in the class, bring to mixed martial arts is more than a "class" it's a family. If you're in the Goshen area and want to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or boxing then this is place to attend hands down. FIRST CLASS all the way around!
Best Martial Arts school in Goshen.Family atmosphere and great trainers highly recommend
Brazailian jiu jitsu defines martial arts in my opinion..i have been part of this team, Barrickbjj, for a year now and i love it. Great group of guys and a knowledgeable and experienced instructor! Come join our team!!
Over the past few years, I have been to three different gyms and this is the best class setting by far. You will not find many black belts that will jump in with you during class to help your game, very appreciative. If your interested in starting, I highly recommend Barrick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Nice place and friendly, really enjoyed it at first. However Covid hit and I was considered high risk and was not able to continue my year membership due to obvious reasons. I was only 3 months into when Covid hit.
I like the gym and the equipment!( I came to train/work.) I Don’t think very many people make it to the top talking.) If you wanna make friends & talk. Here you go! (Good to get the body moving & have community!) If you wanna be an actual athlete I suggest you go to a different gym. Find a gym that cares about your goals. Find a good coach with equality &/or equality. Or at least a coach that will take care of YOU!!! :)
There’s honestly pros and Cons to this gym before i say them understand I did 6-7 months I have seen mostly everything I came here to enjoy and train boxing man was I gonna go for a ride unfortunately I didn’t get the coaching I was hoping for purposely was ditched like a black sheep I had improved by my self for the last 3 months doing wresting and kickboxing with combination of boxing like MMA since they took my right to use the combat dummy and can’t do kickboxing. I figure why not tell yall the pros and cons of the boxing class Pros Improves cardio and Endurance Helps reduce Stress (You make friends) Sparring to see your weaknesses and Strengths Equipment most beginners wish they had Cons (make sure you see this) It’s only twice a week The coach is really bias towards his students ( one he likes particularly like a prince and will make sure no kid will hurt him ) If they see you have potential they won’t go further ( they will make sure they won’t help you and make you confused) The contract thing is utterly ridiculous the fact you can’t even cancel it and get charged 65 a month is dumb as hell No mitt training or anything If you have any other experience in another martial art ( they won’t like it ) You can’t use your own 16 ounce gloves in sparring Understand this, if you truly loved the sport of boxing you wouldn’t treat your students like this Rather than trying to push his students to their limit, you talk I have no hate or harsh feelings toward the owner of the gym Just the boxing class I came to train and become a better boxer instead I had to learn by my self and train other martial arts to even be able to enjoy the class That’s all folks
