This is a great place to train. I went in having no experience with jiu jitsu or kickboxing but now I feel like I’ve found my stride. The coaches are really helpful and are always willing to show you one more time! I would always recommend this place, the people I train with are family

I’ve been going to Atlas since 2019, when there was a location in Hudson. Great humans, good vibes, and just an overall awesome place to practice BJJ.

The gyms in all locations are very clean and professional. All of the coaches at Atlas care about the kids’ personal goals and journey. The tiny titans kickboxing and jiu jitsu programs have been great for all 3 of my boys. They are more active and are building confidence and skills from skilled professionals who I trust completely to keep my kids safe from any serious injury. The other parents and kids in the program are great and with multiple locations you can attend as many or as few times a week as you can. Highly recommend

Professor Ed and Coach Booyah do an amazing job with my children. I have three kids enrolled in their tiny titans program and I strongly recommend it. Professor and Coach make the kids better competitors and better humans.

Such a great team with great instructors. Great for any age, especially with the kids. Coach Booyah does wonders for the kids/teens. Highly recommended!

I have three children (8,10,16) who have attended Atlas in Valatie for several years. It provides excellent exercise and the kids learn valuable skills that could save their life one day. The coaches do a great job and are really patient with the kids while instilling grit, perseverance, and discipline with every lesson. These attributes, along with strength, balance, and a sense of strategy they gain from jui jitsu, have absolutely translated and served them well when they participate in other sports too. The best part is that it provides by far the greatest value for any activity you can have your kids participate in. You pay by the month, but the kids have 4 classes a week in Valatie and even more available if we wanted to go to the Albany location. I highly recommend giving it a try.

The Valatie coaches are great. They work hard with the kids to teach them all the techniques. They put alot of their own free time into having classes available. They make it fun but also take things serious. They treat each kid as an individual and can recognize strengths with in that kid. My daughter loves it. She can't wait for her first comp!

Want to learn an incredible martial art from excellent, experienced, champions? Join a team of well- intentioned, learning focused people across all walks of life? I'm a 35 yr old mom training for my first time. I've won an international gold at ibjjf and 2 golds at a regional tournament under Professor Edward Anthony and alongside some really wonderful people. This is the best bjj academy in this entire region.

My name is Angela Meglio and I started training at Atlas over two years ago. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and I mean that in every sense of the word. Prior to Atlas I was very self-conscious, had low confidence and was dealing with some mental blocks after negative experiences in my life as a young woman. I began training and realized my strength and potential. Coach Edward Anthony and all of my teammates were the most supportive and respectful men I had ever encountered. Through them I began to learn, have fun and build my skill set as a budding martial artist. Fast forward to today; I train at both the Hudson and Albany locations. I train BJJ, Kickboxing, Judo and now Strength and Conditioning as well. I competed in more than 15 tournaments as a white belt and have medaled more times than I can count. I also am beginning my journey as an MMA fighter, proudly training under coach Ed and my teammates. I am in the best shape of my life mentally and physically and I am so grateful everyday for Atlas Jiu Jitsu. I would also like to note that I am a 25 year old 135 woman and that the instruction I have received has made me able to control and defend myself against men twice my size. Proper jiu jitsu instruction can benefit all women!

I happen to stumble across this place approximately a year ago. While hesitant, I decided to sign my daughter up for class. From the very first class, every instructor present was extremely encouraging and supportive. It didn't take long for them to welcome me into their circle. This establishment not only teaches you to learn a new skill, they embrace you as part of their family. Choosing to involve myself with these amazing individuals was the best choice I've made within the past 5 years.

I highly recommend Atlas Jiu Jitsu. Great instruction and training in a nurturing environment. It is a wonderful place to get exercise and conditioning while learning a fun and valuable skill. The Hudson location is large and clean. Edward Anthony is an extremely knowledgeable instructor who teaches jiu jitsu in a friendly, safe environment that is bully free. Aside from the jiu jitsu techniques one learns, it is also a place that I personally have made many, many friends that I will keep for the rest of my life.

I have been involved in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on and off for over 10 years and have trained at/visited many schools in that time. While on vacation here in Columbia County I found Atlas on Google and stopped in for some training. The hospitality I was shown was remarkable. From the owner Edward Anthony on to every student there, I was greeted with smiles and friendliness. The culture there is welcoming, warm, and very friendly. As far as the jiu jitsu itself, Edward Anthony is not just a decorated competitor, he is a gifted teacher with a combination of attention to deal and sincere interest in the progress of each and every student. It is obvious he cares for his pupils which is what both the first timer as well as the seasoned practitioner will find rewarding. If I lived here this would absolutely be my home school and I recommend Atlas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to anybody interested.

Atlas BJJ is more than a gym. It is your second family. The trainers are passionate and dedicated to teaching children the art of BJJ. Our son trained for nearly 3 years at Atlas (5-8yrs). He was taught how to be dedicated, focused and respectful. All of these attributes transfer into real time life. Highly recommend Atlas to anyone who wants to increase their child's self esteem, increase their health and fitness, learn self defense and many more positive skills!
