For the past year, ATA at Royersford has been an rewarding experience for my family. My two girls have benefited from the learning aspects that focuses on listening skills, demonstration skills, and completing certain tasks to "earn" to move up in rank in the form of belt progressions. My children are accomplishing goals which is beneficial to their overall growth and development. Myself and my Wife both attend class as students. ATA is a Family experience. The exercise alone is beneficial but the curriculum is challenging and engaging which makes Tae Kwon Do at ATA very fun! Also - The instructors and the legacy students are extremely helpful and encouraging to all students. As a parent, I would like my children to emulate and follow their footsteps!
Master M and his team are amazing! My boys look forward coming to class each week! They are genuine, kind, and fun. I recommend them to neighbors and friends looking for a program that shows and teaches their athletes leadership, respect, and pride of themselves and others. No question it’s worth it. We came for a birthday party and ended up joining for our youngest child. He loves the energy the instructors bring and is excited to come to class 3 times a week.

Our daughter has attended ATA for a little over a year, and we couldn't be happier. The instructors are so friendly, warm & supportive - they are an excellent combination of high expectations and silly cheerleaders, which is perfect for younger students who are a bit shy or unsure. They clearly prioritize inclusion and creating a safe space for students to take risks in trying new things, failing, and trying again. While the students are there for taekwondo, they are also learning valuable life skills. I am routinely impressed class after class. What I particularly love about ATA Royersford is their ability to recognize leadership in its many forms and to bring out the best in their students. Our daughter is not loud or boisterous. She isn't necessarily a child who draws a lot of attention like we would typically associate with an emerging leader. But she IS attentive, observant, and kind. She tries her best. And she was so proud to have been selected as part of ATA Royersford's Leadership program several months ago - because they took the time to notice her, and to recognize what makes her a leader in her own right. The confidence and pride our daughter has gained from being part of ATA Royersford is invaluable, and we are so thrilled she has a space to feel a sense of belonging and emotional safety as she continues to grow in her practice. Our daughter really enjoyed her time at ATA! The instructors put together some great classes with life lessons and discipline that she has learned and incorporated. Can't say enough about how encouraging and positive everyone in the building is, and really appreciated the way they treated her, not only as a student, but a person. Highly recommended!
The owner, Scott, led a women’s self defense event for me and a group of ~20 women. It was extremely informative and a great mix of info+action. We did a lot of hands on practice of moves and everyone had a good time! I would HIGHLY recommend looking at this studio based on Scott’s communication, expertise, professionalism and overall approach.
Our entire family has joined ATA (myself, my husband, and our two daughters age 7 and 5) and we couldn't be more grateful. The culture is so welcoming, friendly, and empowering. We've already seen changes to our kids confidence, but most importantly we can do something as a family to grow together.

We joined the ATA community a month ago and both of my sons love it. When I tell them it’s time to go to taekwondo, they are so excited! The entire staff is so helpful and friendly. They host awesome events for the kids and have parents night out. We are so very happy to have found ATA and look forward to our kids learning so many values to carry with them in life.

Great place! They offered my 5 year old a free trail class and now he’s hooked. Love the flexibility in booking classes, the app used to do so, and all the extras (Mario night, self defense classes.) Plus it was the most reasonably priced membership we found in the area!
My family has been practicing at ATA Royersford for almost 2 years. We started as parts of the tiny tigers (under 7) and Songahm classes as well as the leadership classes in 2021. The instructors are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable whether you're five or over 40! We look forward to classes each week. Still loving it here.

Where to begin? The location is perfect and the building/facilities is super modern and clean. The teachers and staff are so positive, supportive, and understanding. They really treat you like family ❤️ My family has been attending for almost a year and we love the results. Its a great mixture of focus & fun.
Master M, Mr. Riordan, Mrs. Sullens, and the whole team of instructors are absolutely the best. My son loves ATA and has certainly learned a lot in addition to martial arts, such a respect, honesty, and discipline.
My son has been with ATA of Royersford for 5 months now. My husband and I have been impressed since day 1 with the instructors and how we were treated by all of the staff. Fast forward to today and we have the opportunity to see how they operate during a quarantine none of us saw coming. From Facebook daily challenges, videos, giveaways and Zoom classes (including free beginner classes for the community), they are keeping the kids who are stuck at home active and focused. Students are testing for their stripes and next belt level. Although my son really misses physically going to his classes, in our home he is yelling, "yes, sir" to his instructors and maintaining the same discipline I see from him during his typical classes. We are very impressed with all the hard work of all the staff, and appreciate how much work is being done by those behind the scenes, such as countless email communication and splitting the students up into multiple rooms so instructors can focus on fewer students individually. We can't thank you all enough and highly recommend ATA of Royersford. Updated to add a new review... All the instructors are focused and energized. I love how Mr. Riordan can keep a class going while Mr. John works with the new students. When your student is new and they receive personal attention throughout class, is shows their parents that they're valued and they're not just thrown into class and left standing there lost. During this class, I kept going back and forth between watching my son and watching the smiles on the parents of new students. Their smiles spoke volumes.
Our son has been a student at ATA for nearly two years now, and we are extremely impressed. Not only is he learning martial arts and discipline, but also better citizenship and self-confidence. The staff is fantastic, very devoted to the students. They all went above and beyond to keep the kids engaged via Zoom during the Covid-19 shutdown, and continue to do a great job of complying with the changing safety regulations and making it possible for those who feel comfortable to attend in-person (even opening an annex to the studio!) and maintaining online class options as well. Communication with families is excellent, Mrs. Sullens always makes time to help with any question or need with a smile (even if it’s hidden behind a mask!), and family activities and community involvement opportunities are fun and rewarding! We are very grateful for Master M, his family, and the entire staff at ATA!
My daughter is eight years old, and has been with ATA Martial Arts of Royersford since August of 2019. She absolutely loves it! I think she would attend seven days a week if it were possible! The instructors here are truly exceptional, and have quickly and easily become her role models, and mentors. Because of Master M and the amazing staff he has brought together, my daughter has learned things far beyond her Taekwondo training (however, the TKD training in itself is top-notch!). She has learned the importance of community and doing what we can for others. She has gained confidence to believe in herself, learned goal-setting (personal and TKD), and to accept disappointment. She now appreciates that failure isn’t the end, but rather gives the opportunity to try harder and not give up. I am already seeing her apply these skills in her school work, relationships and everyday life! I highly recommend ATA Royersford; we love it here!
This martial arts program is amazing. My grandson joined 6 months ago and he loves it. We have been trying different things for him to be involved in and this is it! The staff at this facility in Royersford are very personable and treat you like you are family. Master M has a great sense of humor with all the children to make them feel at ease and to focus on what he is teaching. I appreciate the consistency of teaching positivity , self discipline, honesty and integrity. There is no place like this. Go check it out!!

My Twins started their journey about 2 years back and we love this Big ATA Royersford family. All the Instructors are FABULOUS and go out of the way to help out each and every student. They are knowledgeable, passionate and fun to train with. I had my kids Birthday party there too and they absolutely loved cutting the cake with real sword.... My kids are more confident, more disciplined, more helpful and becoming responsible as they progress in their journey. We made so many friends. They look forward to go to class every week which is nice surprise for me.
We started at ATA in November 2018. Since then, I have watched my 7 year old grow and flourish under the leadership of Master M and his staff. Every person that works there is friendly and inviting. Classes are fun but disciplined. The other parents are awesome too- it's really one big family.
At first I couldn't believe that with all 67 previous reviews that this establishment has a solid 5 stars. I figured friends and family had to be fluffing up the reviews. So I decided to wait 6 months before writing my review so that I could really get a feel for ATA. The reason ATA has a 5 star rating is because they are a 5 star establishment through and through. My 9 year old son has been attending ATA for six months now. He's currently in on his third belt and it's amazing how good he's become at Taekwando. My son also suffers from pretty severe ADHD. Usually by the time taekwondo rolls around he's completely unmedicated. The teachers have been extremely patient with him (they even have young kids teaching too!) I'm very thankful for everything they've done and continue to do. They are a solid part of the community, everyone is treated like a life-long friend, the amount of positive energy in the building is overwhelming. They deserve every star on every review.
This program has been great at building my son's self-confidence, focus, and self-esteem. The individual positive reinforcement provided during each class helps all kids to do their best. They are founded in respect for yourself and all that you meet. They are very community centered. ATA has raised and donated funds to local charities. All the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. ATA is like a second family to us.

Our son has been attending ATA for 2 years now. He loves it! The staff is excellent. They teach self defense, confidence, discipline and educate the kids on bullying and stranger danger! There are multiple class times which is super helpful when your child is in multiple extra curricular activities. My son started @ ATA in September as a 4 year Tiny Tiger & has been excited to go every time we can take him. He started out doing 2 days a week & now does 3. The instructors are top notch & take the time to get to know each child & help them take pride in their lessons. Mr M is always getting the school involved in helping the community, & my son loves that. My 4 year old actually makes his bed every morning w/o being asked because of #blackbeltdiscipline
My 8 year old daughter has been attending ATA Royersford for 3 1/2 years and she absolutely loves it. Her confidence, self-esteem and concentration has improved greatly. Most importantly she knows what to do to defend herself in many different scenarios. After seeing my daughter enjoy classes so much, I decided to join classes 1 1/2 years ago and I am really glad I did. I am building my strength, endurance and my self confidence. I can't say enough good things about the positive effects these classes have had on three of my grandchildren ages 5-8. In addition to the excellent physical training they receive, they have grown tremendously in poise and confidence which will benefit them throughout their life. I was so impressed that even at the age of 61, I decided to join as well and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. In addition to the fun and camaraderie one finds here, the training has brought me to a point where I haven't felt better in over twenty years. I even competed in a tournament and earned a third place medal in forms. Love it here and I highly recommend it to anyone of any age or physical condition. You won't regret your decision.

My daughter Natalie loves it here. ATA has taught her discipline and gives her motivation to do better. It builds her self esteem up and teaches her how to respect her peers. The teachers are great with the kids and adults and my daughter has learned a lot from them.

We love it here! All 3 of my girls take TKD class here and they love it. They are always excited to come and they always have a great time. Not only do they learn self defense, but they also learn about respect, focus, and perseverance. All of the instructors are awesome. They really care about the kids. Once my son is old enough, he will be coming to class here as well 😊
I was a little hesitant at first to sign my 4 year old up for karate since she was always on the shy side. Mr M made us feel very comfortable and we felt like family from the moment we walked into ATA. I am so glad I found this school! My daughter loves going and definitely feels more confident. I can't say enough not only about the school, but the instructors. Both of my daughters started out at the same time, the youngest decided to stick with soccer, while my oldest choose to stay with Mr. M and ATA. In a world that is scary and uncertain and makes you worry every time your children leave the house, I have no worries about my daughter protecting herself. Not only has she learned self defense, but Mr. M teaches his students about respect, self-discipline and how to be a leader. We looked at a look of different martial arts schools and are glad that three years ago we settled with Royersford ATA.
My son (age 7.5) loves ATA Royersford! As a parent, I love the flexible schedule and large waiting room, which offers a play space for my younger children during class. Mr. M is great with young children. The classes, reward system, team atmosphere, and sense of community make this a standout gym!

My family has been part of the ATA of Royersford family for almost three years since our oldest son joined at the previous location. Our youngest son joined shortly afterwards as a Tiny Tiger and then my wife and I started our journey in May 2013. When I think about what people should know about this school, I think about a supportive environment where you will be challenged and learn valuable skills. Aside from the physical training, I have seen growth in my boys with their confidence, public speaking, courtesy, respect (for themselves and others), and discipline while developing a strong work ethic to attain their goals. My oldest son and I are part of the Leadership team where we study attributes that enhance both our training and lives outside of the school. I have carried these traits into the workplace and have seen my leadership skills grow. My kiddo has been a part of the ATA Family for several years now, starting out as a white belt and moving along the ranks. We've made great friends and been able to participate in numerous community events and charitable events. My two children started taking classes at ATA Martial Arts of Royersford over 3 years ago. They have enjoyed the curriculum and currently hold 1st-degree black belts. Mr. M is a great instructor with a unique way of connecting with kids while keeping it interesting (and entertaining). Additionally, training is supported with the knowledge and expertise of several exceptional certified instructors. In addition to teaching self-defense the school emphasizes the importance of fitness, discipline, and respect for others. The school regularly hosts fun events for kids like Ninja Nights and Trunk-or-Treat, and contributes to the community with various events to benefit those in need (including Annual 5K Run – Chopping Childhood Cancer and Operation Backpack). ATA Royersford teaches kids physical and mental discipline. They learn self-defense techniques which are equally useful for adults. I joined the ATA organization in 2002 at the age of 24 and received my first degree black belt in 2005. Within months, i noticed changes in myself - better focus in school and at work, increased confidence, physical fitness - that confirmed my belief - TAE KWON DO IS SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD DO....And they should do it at ATA Royersford. I enrolled my sons, ages 4 and 5, at ATA Royersford after my first meeting with Mr. M. Not only was he friendly and positive, he had complete respect, cooperation, and discipline from every student in his class. Mr. M is a fantastic instructor who is capable of providing individual attention to each student in every class. My 4 year old, normally very quite and reserved, has had so much more confidence since breaking a board in class. He is now loud, responsive, proud, and willing to show everyone outside of class what he has learned. My 5 year old is learning how to be a leader and understand the importance of displaying good behavior wherever he is. His school teacher was able to enforce his good manners by telling him she speaks to Mr. M. After a five year break, I have begun to take classes again. I enjoy each class, for the things i learn from instructors Mr. M and Mr. Long, and all the other students (adults and children) in the school. This is an amazing experience to share with my kids, who are impressed when I show them the things I know. Likewise, ATA Royersford truly has a family atmosphere. The students (children and adults) are welcoming, encouraging, and positive. I highly recommend this school, and Mr. M, to everyone.
