This is the first time a jiujitsu school has made me wan to move to another city. Boy, were this guys fun! Professor Wancler is very knowlegeable and very patient. He does care about the wellbeing of his students and visitors alike. Everyone was very humble and friendly. If I could give this school 10 starts I would. If you're ever in Missouri city texas, make sure stop by and get some rolls in, and if you live in the city, thats ghe school to go to. Thank you to everyone that made me feel so welcomed. Really good academy for anyone who’s looking to start a martial art
Every kid should be signed up for ARKA’s jiu jitsu… this team has transformed my son’s life! They foster an atmosphere where kids can learn to focus and grow their skills while building healthy social connections with one another. Coach Charles was amazing! He really bolstered my 6 year old son’s confidence and focus. Coach Charles has a way with kids where he can be firm but kind and constructive. I love this team and highly recommend for any parent to bring their kids in for this practice!
I’ve been training at Arka for about a year, and it has been an amazing experience. The atmosphere is friendly, and everyone is always ready to help you improve. Wancler and the other coaches teaching style is different from other gyms, and for me, it makes the techniques much easier to understand. If you practice BJJ or want to start, I highly recommend taking a class with him to see for yourself.
We recently joined ARKA and I am absolutely glad we got our girls enrolled. My kids are 5 and 8 yrs old. They look forward to going as often as they can (4 times a week now) and they love all their instructors, especially Mr. Oliviera, who leads the kids class my girls are in. These instructors have a heart of gold and are extremely patient with their students. I admire how they work with kids at their individual levels and arrange their exercises/ lessons in a fun manner to keep the kids focused and interested. In the short time we’ve been attending, my daughters have already developed a sense of belonging and I can tell their confidence has gone up too. They come home from regular school day asking to get their homework done fast so they can make it to jiu jitsu practice. This place makes you feel like part of the family and everybody who is a part of it are extremely respectful and lead by example. I also love that there is a seating area for you to hang out and watch the lesson. They keep everything very clean- sanitizing the mat and floor before the next class. They also allowed us to try a few times for free before committing. Charles was the one who answered all my questions, set us up and is always great to talk to whenever we drop by. I definitely recommend everyone try them out!
Participated in a class at ARKA and I really liked their friendly culture. Coach Wancler encourages questions and reaches out to make sure you feel comfortable. In my very first class, he got straight into self-defense techniques that are applicable in real life, and made it easy to learn. I’m also impressed that he’s a multiple time IBJJF Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion, so I’m excited to learn more from him.

Professor Wancler is world class and is also a very kind, patient instructor. From the get-go since joining everyone was so friendly and welcoming that I began to feel right at home immediately. I just love this place!! I joined here almost 5 months before with zero idea of Jiu Jitsu and now, going here is the favorite part of my day. The coaches are very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Everyone in ARKA is extremely welcoming, kind and friendly. Practicing jiu jitsu has helped me a lot with stress management and in enhancing my self confidence. My grandkids take jiu-jitsu lessons here and they love it! The coaches are very patient and teach jiu-jitsu technique in an age appropriate way. The kids are learning quickly while having fun and making friends. The place is clean, everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend Arka.

I haven't experienced the camaraderie this gym offers anywhere else in life other than the Marine Corps. I have made life long friends here, and would recommend this gym to anyone. We all push each other to be the best versions of ourselves, and to maintain discipline in and out of the gym.
ARKA is a great jujitsu school. I didn’t start there but when I switched over here I noticed a big difference. Here they teach everything you need to up you jujitsu game. Not just drill one technique for 10 min and roll for the rest of the class
My daughter and I both practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu here and we LOVE it. The professors are amazing, kind, and are very good at explaining the techniques so that everyone understands. There are several classes for adults throughout the day/week so you can easily fit it into your schedule. They offer kids classes 4 days a week and women's self defense. Everyone here makes you feel welcome and part of the family.

Amazing gym, great environment. Super inclusive clientele. Very well run, clean, and safe. Do not need to worry at all about feeling out of place or that nobody will roll with you. There's no cliques or "in crowd" at all. No egos and nobody to try and injure or embarrass you, but the jiu jitsu is still very high quality. Great mix of "recreational" as well as competition level training. Couldn't be happier here.
I have been going to Arka for over a year now and my experience has been so great! The teachers there are patient, knowledgeable and experienced. My kids also go to Arka several times a week. It is a great way for them to work some energy off and learn new skills. Arka has a great sense of community and fellowship. We have felt so welcome and have made many great friends while there! I highly recommend coming to Arka!

Arka was the first BJJ school I tried and it will be my training home FOREVER! Everyone there, from the instructors to the white belts, leaves their ego at the door and is eager to learn and teach. Oh, if you wanna roll hard you’ll get that, but you’ll come away from “porrada” roll a better fighter. And this is just the adult classes. The children’s classes are wonderful as well. My 9 year old girl loves the mix of fun and serious technical study that happens during each session. If you want a school where you can learn serious BJJ and compete in tournaments, but has a family, no-ego vibe (and great prices btw) please check out Arka.
I had been trying other gyms for years but none compare to the atmosphere here at Arka. Non ego driven people who train hard but still takes care of one another. Plus I learn about more than just bjj but life, personal development and lifestyle. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to learn bjj/self defense .

My son and daughter has been attending the school for 10 months. My daughter loves and looks forward to going to class each day. She has become disciplined and driven to excel in the class. The coaches are attentive to her progress and further encourages her to compete. My son, who is autistic, enjoys participating in the class and looks forward to going to class daily also. He knows all the coaches names and has opened up much more in the class. The class has encouraged him to be more vocal. The coaches caters to his needs. Arka is very welcoming and understanding. My kids love it!

My 7 year old and 5 year old love this place and are always excited to go. Coach Rubio is so patient and kind, and teaches them discipline and self control. Jiu jitsu is great for building your kids’ confidence and self esteem, and Arka specifically is a wonderful place with great coaches and community. Highly recommended!

Took my first class there yesterday, the instructors were extremely informative and taught at a great pace. Everything was easy to understand concepts and most importantly SAFETY! I am usually a gym rat and the workout here had me pumped. 10/10 will be going again!

I don’t know where to start with this review 😂 My niece always rushes me to get to the school 30 minutes before class because she loves it that much and doesn’t want “to be late”. 😅 People of all ages would enjoy their classes. The Head Instructor and his Instructors create a judgment-free, genuinely friendly community, which I’m not used to seeing in a sports/fitness business. Especially as a bigger girl who is self conscious in any fitness-related setting, I’ve never felt embarrassed and never felt so welcomed. ☺️

This group will change your life. I walked in the doors looking to lose some weight but I ended up gaining a second family. My wife and daughter train now as well. Instilling confidence in my family has always been important to me, Arka has helped us all be the best versions of ourselves physically and mentally.
Great class, patient teachers , clean facility. Best part is I got to know the people I trained with and they have contributed to improving my self physically and emotionally by showing me how to lose the battle but not the war.

I’ve learned Jiu-Jitsu at several different school previous to Arka. The instruction, camaraderie, and skill at Arka is incredible. I’ve learned more in less than a year here than I have at any previous school. There’s something for everyone from beginner and up. And the kids classes are incredible. My daughter has been coming for close to 6 months and her overall improvement, physically and socially, is remarkably noticeable. I started training with Arka at 66 years old. The classes are challenging but the benefits have been tremendous. Improved flexibility, increased endurance, lower heart rate, weight loss, and a better attitude. Great group of caring people.

I can’t imagine my life without ARKA! This gym welcomes all skill levels and is great for anyone looking to learn some self-defense skills, get some exercise, or make lifelong friends. Attending these types of classes was new for me, but I could not feel more comfortable learning these important skills if it weren’t for the amazing coaches! Everything here is exceptional from the morals and training the coaches provide to the positive atmosphere of the whole gym. Arka is an awesome facility with highly prepared professionals willing to teach not just the techniques but the morals and philosophy of the martial arts.
