I was gone from my class (adult Muay Thai) for about three months due to work and just life. They welcomed me back like I hadn’t missed a beat. Great instructors. Great class. Always a great recommendation. Can’t recommend AmeriKick enough. Hope to see you in class!
Amazing place with amazing people starting from the front desk all the way up to the instructor. Very genuine and fun environment while pushing you to your best!
I just started adult Muay Thai classes here and I'm having a great time! Everyone is so supportive and kind, and they make it very easy to get started.
Great place...great staff. Our son has been going there a couple years now. Relaxed, professional. Our family would highly recommend for any age.
10 out of 10 will recommend. My son age 3 had his first karate lesson last Saturday and I must say it amazing. From Ms Ada in front desk so warm and welcoming to the sensei personal attention. My son is a shy yet adventurous toddler. They sensei were all patient with him as they guided through the lesson. Even when he didn’t so something right they repeated the motion so he can understand. They had extreme patience with him and was friendly and encouraging. I was so impressed. Can’t wait to see how my son progresses.
Our 6-year old really enjoyed summer camp here. Great instructors and variety of activities.
I really can not say enough great things about this place! Sensei Alex, Sensei Dennis, Sensei Yeshua, Sensei Alexa and the entire team are so incredible. My three boys can not wait for their classes and have been growing so much over this past year. The first person you see when you come is Ms. Ada, who is just the heart of soul of everything in that place. We love Amerikick and so grateful to be part of their family.
My son is learning a lot about karate and becoming more disciplined with his workouts and chores. Highly recommend for all ages.
i highly recommend taking a class here if you ever have an interest in martial arts. i took a muy thai class as a first-timer and they made me feel welcome. great instructors 👍
Amerikick Karate is an excellent place for learning and practicing martial arts. The instructors are highly skilled and dedicated, providing thorough training in various karate techniques. The classes are well-structured, focusing on both physical conditioning and mental discipline. The school also emphasizes values such as respect, discipline, and perseverance. Overall, it is a great place to enhance self-defense skills, improve fitness, and develop self-confidence.
My son Tyler loves Amerikick Martial Arts! The instructors are fantastic, combining discipline with fun in a way that keeps him engaged and excited to learn. The environment is incredibly positive and respectful, teaching not just martial arts skills but also important life values. Tyler has gained confidence, respect, and a strong sense of community here. He's also making new friends, which has been wonderful to see. It's a great place for kids to grow both physically and mentally. Highly recommended!
I must say ever since signing my kid up for classes here he's been eating better and slimming down with all the physical activities they have for the kiddos. I think this place will be my new home for a while. The one thing I loved hearing while bringing my kid to classes was that during May and June months they have unlimited classes for mother's day and father's day and that has me sold. Actually starting my classes today can't wait I'm excited. So far I have to say Ada is the face of the school always helpful and knowledgeable about everything going on and my go-to person when I enter the dojo the Sensei's are all good with the kids and I love that. They take their time with the kids and that to me makes joining the dojo worth it. So come down don't be shy it's a cool environment for both kids and parents wanting to learn a karate form or other techniques.
We had our son’s 4th birthday party here in March and it was an amazing experience. From my initial booking with the super helpful and patient Ms. Ada, to the attentiveness of Sensei Phoebe and Sensei Samara, everything went very smoothly and the kids had an absolute BLAST. The obstacle courses they set up were so fun and it was such a nice large space for the kiddos to run around in. Since then, my son has started regular weekly karate lessons (they give an amazing deal for a trial month) and he loved it so much, we continued after the trial period ended. This is a really great neighborhood business that we are thankful for. Keep up the great work Amerikick Park Slope!
Great private lesson and (half) of a first adult class. I couldn't make it through only because it's been so long. I've got work to do. Can't wait to recover and go back. Adonis, Alex, and Ms. Aida are great!
I joined Amerikick back in summer of 2023 and have really enjoyed the experience. The classes are fun and challenging. The instructors are well trained and treat their students with respect and courtesy!
Whether you’re looking to train or just a good workout Amerikick is a great place to do both! They have a friendly staff and a welcoming environment. The Sensei’s are very knowledgeable and patient which makes the class fun. I encourage everyone seeing this to try at least one class!
My son has never committed to an extracurricular activity... until now. It's more than a year and he's loving it - even took up sparring and weapons. Amerikick is giving him confidence and mobility. Love it! Black Belt Driven! This is a well organized team. PS - super important who welcomes you at the front desk 😉
Amerikick princeton has been been amazing for my son Hayden. He has become more confident and even gained focus which helps him in school. I'm proud to say he comes home with 100s and I truly believe Amerikick Princeton has played a big role in that. Thank you to Vince and Mike for all the support and to everyone else that has been an inspiration to Hayden to continue on his journey to a black belt.
My 6 year old loves taking karate at Amerikick. So much so that she gave up gymnastics classes to go. She especially enjoys classes that end with dodge ball, and I love helpful and welcoming Ms. Ada is!!
My daughter wanted to try out karate. We did a 7-day free trial and she absolutely loved it. Everyone at Amerikick Park Slope is super encouraging and patient with the 3-4s class. My daughter is so excited every week when it's time to go to karate!
Took my daughter for a free trial today, she loved it! The instructors were super patient given the age group (3-4 year olds) they were dealing with! Aida, the woman at front desk was also very thorough about their pricing and promos. Hope to be able to to continue classes for my child here!
All in all, my daughter's karate class has been an absolute win! It's not just about learning karate—it's about having fun, making friends, and gaining valuable life lessons. If you're looking for an activity that keeps your kid active, boosts their confidence, and teaches them important values, I highly recommend checking out a karate class. Who knows, your little one might end up loving it as much as mine does!
Amerikick Martial Arts Park Slope is like a second home to me and now for my son. I was surprised to see my son use a form technique to “block” a child from hitting him in his face. I am very pleased that my son is learning to remember techniques at the age of 4. That is because the Sensei take their time to teach the students and work with them one on one if needed. I am a Happy Mom with this Martial Art Center!!
Our 6 yo has been attending karate class for over a year. He loves going and is motivated to earn his black belt. The program is very structured. Kids earn stripes for completing different tasks in order to progress through the belts. The Sensei are kind and patient. There is a lot happening at this dojo! I also take muay thai classes now and have really enjoyed my experience. Thanks for being part of our family!
It all started out as a Birthday party experience. It’s been about a year now and it’s like seeing and training with family every week. The senseis are awesome as well as Ms Ada and Sensei Pheobe at the front desk. I can see a difference in my child’s focus, attention span, and discipline. AmeriKick Park Slope for the win!
Amerikick has been such a great experience for my 10 yr old son. We did the 6 week boot camp and within the first week he was already doing chores and being more obedient. This program not only helps children to learn martial arts but also installs discipline in a fun nurturing way that kids want to on their own. We definitely recommend this program.
My daughter was doing TKD prior to karate and enjoyed it..but she LOVES amerikick karate! She has become more focused, listens to me better, and is understanding the concept of respect! Not to mention she loves doing kicks. I highly recommend this place and I am happy my 5 year old is going here.
Our son has been taking karate classes here since November 2021 and it has been wonderful watching him learn and master the moves and forms through the months. The staff and Sensei’s are all so warm and welcoming and really take the time to ensure each and every child gets the attention they need to accomplish each task. Ms. Aida at the front is always on top of her game, answering any questions you may have with a smile on her face. Belt graduations are amazing, the teams unite for an introductory show of their skills and it always has the crowd out of their seats applauding. We intend to take our son here through each belt phase and look forward to his continued growth. Highly recommend!
Very nice place! Friendly atmosphere! The staff is great! We have a 4 year old and we signed him up for he long term, because the kids just loved it! They had a blast, we felt with him needing more kid to kid interaction, and taking directions from others then his parents, karate is worth a try! The kids immediately start following directions, they feel special, with there new outfits, they get individual time with the teacher! There are also 4 other young teachers helping along so everyone has a direction! I’ll give this three thumbs up 👍 👍👍
Amerikick is a great place for children and adults to develop physical stamina and confidence and self defense. Good grades and behavior are encouraged. The front desk staff are very helpful and pleasant. They make you feel like you’re apart of Amerikick family. The instructors are skilled and good with their students. My son trained here for one year now and I am very impressed with how much he has learned. A highlight for me was his smoker (competition) with a more advanced student from another school. He did very well and made us proud. I am also happy with the way rigorous exercise have had a positive effect on his health. He is asthmatic and he is able to exercise without difficulty. I have recommended this school to my friends and family.
My 3 and 7 year olds both go there. They love it. All senseis are very kind and patient. Not only do they teach karate but they also instill discipline and respect. Ms Ada is very friendly and always helpful. My daughter has always been scared of camps and after school classes. We had to withdraw her many times from other places. Amerikick is the only place outside of school that she loves!
Amerikick has been so great for our boys. Although our son isn’t athletic it immediately built core strength as well as resiliency. The class is taught in such a way that the children are happy to work hard! They see positive outcomes it’s so encouraging. The kickboxing class has matured our boys in a short time and teaches valuable life lessons as well as physical acumen. We are so grateful we were introduced to this class. Both our boys have already shown positive achievements both in school at home!
My kids have been with Amerikick for at least 4yrs. They started off in sunset park then move the park slope school. They made the transition very smooth. The instructors and staff are excellent. They really understand kids and their behaviors. It's a great feeling when my son comes home and is excited to show me his new moves. Its not only karate there. They have kickboxing, boot camp classes, acrobatics and specialized weapon classes. Great weekday and weekend schedule.
Since joining in August of this year, my experience has been nothing, but phenomenal. My daughter and son currently take karate (Tigers & dragon),Its really encouraging the kids. The teachers / senseis are excellent - you can tell they really enjoy working with children and I think they strike just the right balance between formality and fun. Amerikick is the best karate studio in park slope!!! Great Place, Great Teacher's, And Man they can throw a Party!! They are awesome with working with Kid's, They don't only teach them Karate but they teach them how to be Respectful, have Self control, Leadership, and etc. Our kids Love going and its Helping Our youngest one So much!
My daughter has been attending classes at Amerikick for over two years. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and patient with kids. I became so inspired by my daughter's interest and progress in martial arts that I started taking their adult kickboxing classes and I'm really enjoying them.
We won a raffle for a free month of Karate at Amerikick Park Slope and we couldn't have been luckier. We were treated to a one on one session that really put my daughter at ease. All the Sensei's are amazing and even though the classes can be large they know each kid by name and take personal time with each student. My 6 year old daughter loves going and is learning so much and making great friends. We will be with them for a long time to come.
Amerikick Martial Arts in Park Slope is a fantastic place to get a great workout with well-trained and attentive instructors. My 13-year-old daughter I have been taking kickboxing classes at Amerikick for the past seven months and we're addicted! The instructors' level of skills are amazing! They inspire the students to work hard, but also to have fun at the same time. The music is always great and the hour of the workout goes by like 15 minutes. I was a gymnast in Russia many years ago and I appreciate the level of high professionalism this school offers. The staff is very warm and friendly and they go out of they way to make everyone feel comfortable and cared for. My daughter and I LOVE it!!! I highly recommend this school to anyone who's interested in a great workout and have fun at the same time. It's a blast! Victoria
I have been doing kickboxing for more than three years at Amerikick in Park Slope. It's an amazing workout. The instructors are excellent, each with a different approach. The workout always varies too. I like that the fitness kickboxing class has only women, and that we each are different sizes, shapes, colors and ages. The studio is very committed to making sure that everyone gets the best workout possible. You know that the class is good when you are in a pool of sweat, doing crunches or hitting, and smiling. It's truly addictive. You can see yourself getting stronger too. And this isn't some pansy sport either where you shadow box. You get to hit real bags with real gloves. My daughter joined Amerikick a few months after I joined when she was 8. I signed her up for the summer camp and she fell in love. Now, at 11 years old, she is a brown belt. She is strong and fearless. She is committed to getting her black belt. She's been to tournaments and has taken home trophies. The studio provides a nurturing environment to get your kid to the next level with prep classes and private sessions if needed. Amerikick is not just a martial arts studio. It''s a welcoming environment with caring teachers. Every month there are community activities and extra classes and challenges. This is not just a place I work out. This is a place where I connect with others, have an amazing workout and leave feeling refreshed and empowered.
Our 5 yr old has been attending Amerikick for close to a year. It has been a very rewarding experience for all of us. During his time at the school we have seen a number of new students join. They are a very diverse group with different energy levels, personalities and attention spans. Regardless of how the kids start out, the team at Amerikick is very good at adapting to the individual students pace. In our son's case this approach created a comfort level that is very valuable. We personally feel it's the reason he has stayed enthusiastic about attending for so long. Well that combined with a very engaging program/class. When our son started he was on the shy end of the spectrum with average physical development. He has grown in both areas over the last year, becoming more confident and coordinated. We feel the Amerikick experience is perfectly suited to young children and are happy with our decision to introduce martial arts to our son through them. Would highly recommend to others.
This review is strictly for the Amerikick Park Slope location. Lately, I’ve been trying to find an activity that I would both enjoy doing & would fit into my already busy schedule….in comes Amerikick with adult kickboxing classes. I was excited to try them, as it was my first time taking a kickboxing class (much less any kind of boxing class). My class was scheduled to start at 12:15, I got to the studio at 12:09. Upon entering, there was a blonde haired lady seated behind the desk & a brunette woman standing in front of it. Upon entering the studio, I stood about 3 feet behind the brunette woman waiting to be addressed by the lady behind the front desk….it never happened. Apparently, the conversation they were having was so riveting that not only could she not tell me she would be with me shortly, she didn’t even acknowledge my presence at all. I might as well have been completely invisible. I stood there waiting, for 5 whole minutes, while they chatted away. When the clock struck 12:15 (the time my class was supposed to begin), I turned around and began to leave. It was only at THIS precise moment, that the blonde haired woman yelled out “excuse me ma’am” to stop me from leaving. I politely yelled back “no it’s okay” and continued to leave. Sadly, I will never know if I would’ve enjoyed myself during class and I will not be signing up for anything else from/by/with Amerikick ever again. I can deal with a lot of things, even down to having a terrible experience doing something new, but what I absolutely will not tolerate is bad customer service. It takes nothing to simply say “Hello, give me one moment”, but to not even look at me or in my direction and keep me waiting while you finish a conversation is perhaps one of the rudest things I have ever experienced.
