ABD is a great place to train. I've been here for over a year now, and absolutely love it. The community is great; friendly, supportive, and fun. The instructors are all top quality; talented, knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated to helping their students succeed. The other trainees are also great people; friendly, welcoming, and encouraging. I mostly train here for general fitness. I've been a powerlifter for more than two decades, but the work we do at ABD is the best workout I've ever had. I always leave feeling gassed and feeling great. The style of martial arts ABD teaches is very practical, based mostly on boxing, kickboxing, and jiu jitsu, with practical self-defense techniques mixed in. There's no gimmicks or "one weird trick," just solid, principle-based technique. There are people from all walks of life here; men and women, young and old, seasoned athletes and people who've never thrown a punch in their life. Krav scales to the individual, and you can absolutely start where you are today. ABD is a great place to make friends, get in shape, and learn tools that will keep you safe.

ABD is an incredible place to learn about yourself. The staff all have a knack for drawing the best out of all their students! I’m grateful to be a part of the culture that they’ve created here! Sensei Morse, Miss Garcia, Sensei Saunders, Sensei Pan and everyone involved put so much love into what they do and it is noticeable as soon as you walk through their doors! Thank you for all you do!

I can’t say enough great things about ABD. This place has become more than a gym, it’s a community of people that I genuinely look forward to seeing every week. It has done wonders for my mental health and physical well being. The instructors are passionate and genuinely committed to your success as a student and individual. You couldn’t ask for a better team of instructors. They inspire and foster an environment of passionate learning and acceptance no matter your skill level. I hope to go here for years to come.

Been going to ADB for over two years now. The instructors are top notch: highly experienced, knowledgeable,and talented. They make sure everyone gets individualized attention, tough in big classes, but they make a point to go around and check on each individual student. Students are encouraged to ask questions at any time. As for the environment: the instructors have succeeded in instilling a team atmosphere, and a sense of community. Everyone is encouraging, helpful, and welcoming. The program: great program that takes things step by step. It is a journey. It will challenge you. All you have to do is show up and give it your best. Then rinse, and repeat: show up and give it your best again, and again,etc... Small improvements over the past two years have produced major gains for me. As for myself: I'm your classic 'O'ut of shape, 'O'ld man, who is still at this moment 'O'bese. Triple 'O' That said I have come a long way from where I started. I'm the type of person who needs a goal to work towards. I have done great in the past in the service, and on sports teams where there was coaching, or drill sergeants to motivate. The instructors will push you. This Krav journey has not only helped me get in shape, and learn a skill set to give myself a better chance to defend myself, but it has dramatically improved my health. I will spare all the details, but the root cause to all my problems is my back issues. Now back issues don't go away, but my back has felt the best it has in a long time. If you're up for a challenge, want to learn self defense, get in shape, and not have to plan out your workouts. I can't recommend ABD enough. The toughest part was getting up the courage to walk in and try it. Once I did I was hooked.

I've been training at ABD Franklin for about 6 months now and all I've to say is I've never felt better and confident with myself like now. No one has asked me to write any review, but the learning here is so awesome that I just wanted to share my own experience. All the instructors are super helpful and work with every individual to be a percentage better of one's self! I'd recommend ABD to anyone who wants to learn self defense/krav.

Amazing instructors in all their program for all ages. Every student is welcomed, no experience is needed, they build you up from the ground up and from the inside out. Students work towards their goals and get there bc of the instructors and awesome community of students. Both my son and myself have grown both on and off the mats.
