We attended a party held at the dojo, and the instructors were great. They were patient and kind with all of the kids, and discreetly offered a child who was too timid to try an activity the opportunity to do so in a private area. Their time with the instructors also looked like a lot of fun.
American Black Belt Academy shaped my confidence as a child and helped grow me into the woman I am now. They focus not only on our training but also on community service, school grades and overall character of a person.
My daughter has been attending ABBA for 5 years. Her continued growth and enjoyment within ABBA amazes me. The instructors are passionate in what they do. They demonstrate their love and expertise for this sport in every class. We're grateful for the relationships formed and life lessons learned. Highly recommend!
My son and grandson have been taking classes there for about 4 years now. To see them training together is such a pleasure. The instructors really take their time with the students regardless of the students skill level.
Being a non for profit organization ABBA is also heavily involved with the local community which says a lot about the school.
Amazing training (weapons, Taekwondo & Hopkido) all under one roof!
Outstanding school with traditional values and training styles. Instructors are fantastic with kids . The best part is you are able to train with your son or daughter in the same classes!
As a corporate manager and mom of 3, I have a lot going on, and ZERO social life. Work is stressful, home is messy, and usually life can be described as "A series of disruptions and crises."
My son asked me to take him to ABBA for a trial class. I was expecting to use the time to check my emails, but Mrs. Smartwood asked me to join them in class!
Let me tell you, that was the first time in a long time that I felt mentally present, physically energized, and had as much fun as a kid myself....with my kids! I wasn't just providing the fun. I was part of it!
Now, every week we train as students TOGETHER, we practice TOGETHER, we're present TOGETHER. And we are building better, healthier habits TOGETHER. It's made a huge difference for my boys and for me.
It's true what they say - the family that kicks together sticks together.
If you're a parent, I strongly encourage you to join me for some stress-busting, quality fun time with your kids!
P.S.: Judgement-free adult friends are part of that package too. Stop in if you wanna kick it with us. ;)
Great place for kids and families to train. We have learned so much from being a part of this school. The kids have leaned to protect them selves, discipline, focus, and balance in addition to the martial arts skills.
Great school, reasonably priced. I love the fact that they are a not for profit, and that all instructors are volunteers and participate because of their love for Taekwondo.
Well I was there mrs swartwood would pay more attention to the good kids so we quit but otherwise it was fun I just think they should help out the kids that are not as good and pay more attention to them mr swartwood was really nice to my sister well she was in the little class I would like to say it’s a good place but not fully my parents were disappointed that mrs swartwood was not paying attention to me and some other kids also
