Professor Thiago is a very accomplished bjj and judo black belt. All of the instructors ability to pass knowledge to others is amazing. Whether you are a beginner or advanced person, competitor or hobbyist everybody feels welcome. My nephew who is 4 yrs old also trains here.

Started martial arts when I was 5 and started grappling when I was 14, I’m 40 now. I’ve trained at the top rated BJJ gyms in the world and can tell you that this gym is and always will be my home. Thiago is a world champ and Olympic level judo champ. He teaches you the stuff that he has used over decades against the best in the world. Unlike a lot of gyms your teammates are all there to help you. The higher belts don’t just beat up the lower belts and Thiago treats the world champ competitor the same as the person there on their first day. I consider everyone there to be family. Still the best gym!

I have traveled all over the world and trained in schools from NYC to LA, Barcelona to Zurich and everywhere in between and I can honestly say that Alliance Scottsdale is one of the best BJJ gyms I’ve ever had the privilege to train in. Thiago is a deeply caring and passionate professor and he has cultivated a structured gym with a deep roster of highly skilled black belts and colored belts. The kids program is top notch and the instruction is fantastic. Definitely one of the top gyms in the greater Phoenix area with world class athletes and people. Great people and great training! The gym has all levels of Brazilian jiu-jitsu to serve the occasional hobbiest to the dedicated athlete. The gym is welcoming and located conveniently. No egos found in this place. Their kids class is also fun and they focus on decipline to develop focus in their kids team. Definitely recommend this place!

My daughter has attended classes with Thiago and George since she was three (about a year and a half). The instructors are incredible and great with the kids. It’s a very good balance between discipline and allowing the kids to be kids. I could not be happier with the instruction and guidance my daughter has received. Even at a young age she has progressed significantly in the time she has been has trained. I highly recommend Alliance, the instructors are great, I have nothing but positive things to say about everyone involved at Alliance.

I love dropping in to different BJJ gyms when I travel. I had a great time at Alliance Scottsdale! Thiago is an excellent instructor and a great host. I appreciated his attention to detail while instructing. I definitely picked up a few things to take back to my home gym. The rest of the team I rolled with were great! My wife and I were in town for spring break, and left the kids to get a couple classes in. Thiago was very welcoming over email a few weeks beforehand, and was a fantastic host for us. I have been training for 18 years and have visited many schools. This is a very good one, and the culture reflects that. Thank you to Thiago and his students for welcoming us! And thanks for the sneaky sweep and armbar setup!😅

Dropped in for fundamentals and mixed levels classes while traveling. Very welcoming, clean, great instruction, great training partners who worked cooperatively rather than just trying to prove something vs a visiting purple belt, which this old man really appreciated. Will definitely drop in again next time I’m in town!

Great culture, instructors are great with kids. It’s been great to see my kids confidence boost each week! Session are a great combo of exercise & technical BJJ. I was in town for work and attended 2 classes, a fundamentals class and a no gi class. Both professors/instructors were great and went over the details of the technique in way that was easy to understand for me. Everyone here was very welcoming. I had a great time at both classes. Next time I'm in town, I will make time to come in again. If I lived in the area, this is where I would be my regular school.

This is my third gym in my BJJ journey and is by far the best place I've trained. Thiago is a gifted teacher. High quality, high intensity jiu jitsu, but with a friendly and relaxed vibe. Lotsa higher belts looking out for the new guys. I also just started my 4yo daughter in the kids class, and she loves it almost as much as me. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Absolute honor to train at Alliance bjj. It has been a life changing experience! My 7 year old son has been training bjj with Thiago for about a year, and I have been back in jiu jitsu at Alliance for a few months now. The training environment is awesome! Thiago and his team of coaches are great instructors. Their instructions are explained and demonstrated in detail for both adults and kids’ classes. My son enjoys training at Alliance bjj! It has been great to see his personal development. The training environment is based off respect, kindness and hard work. I consider myself lucky to train with such a skilled instructor!

Dropped in while visiting. Great warm up and excellent instruction. A lot of rolls. The guys and gals there are extremely good. Their passing is unbelievably good. Bring your A game. The atmosphere is relaxed. Everyone is friendly. Could not recommend more.

Thiago is an excellent instructor, he is a jiu jitsu and a judo black belt. This place is great for any levels or if you're just looking for a solid workout and learning some self-defense. Jiu jitsu will get you in shape quick, all you have to do is show up. I push keys on a keyboard for a living and this is what keeps me in shape/alive. There are also classes for kids, sign them up and they will thank you later. I only wish I had started earlier than I did.
