Josh is a great instructor, we wanted to put our kids in it because one of our sons really needs it but with the cost of living and the economy there was no way we could afford it. they went to a couple classes before we talked prices and they loved it. Thank you for giving them the experience!

We have had nothing but good experiences since our son started martial arts here over a year ago! And the difference we've seen in his confidence levels & leadership initiatives have been so amazing to see!

This is an amazing place for adults and children to learn and grow.
We put my 5 year old daughter in martial arts to boost her confidence and she went from not talking in school at all to talking full conversations with her classmates and teachers after 6 months of twice a week classes. 10/10 recommend

I have been a member for several years. It’s consistently a great workout! I always work up a sweat, and I have never gotten bored because it’s never the same! Plus, I’ve learned some really cool self defense tips. The instructors are top notch people and great teachers.
Love that they teach leadership and confidence, through taekwondo. The self defense portion is great but what sold us on sending our daughter was when Master Josh said “yes it’s a TKD school but I don’t think of us as a TKD school. We’re a leadership school that just happens to teach leadership and confidence through TKD.” The staff is second to none and Master Josh is a great leader. I’d highly recommend giving it a try, especially for those who may lack confidence or are bullied. I’ve seen many timid kids come and are now leaders in their groups. It is amazing to see firsthand.

Absolutely amazing instructors. I have 2 kids in classes and they both love it. They definitely go the extra mile to make sure everyone is comfortable and are enjoying being there.
My daughter has had multiple hip surgeries and her confidence has been low since her last one a year ago. After attending a friend birthday party, she could not stop talking about martial arts. They have quality instruction for participants of all ages, a welcoming atmosphere, great community engagement, and many opportunities to support youth and families to improve their lives through martial arts! The instructors are skilled and knowledgeable, approachable, and able to teach younglings and the aging alike. Highly recommended.
Master Josh is an excellent teacher! He pushed me and instilled in me the confidence to get my black belt at the age of 49 and I'm still at it! In addition, the classes give you a good workout! Taekwondo is for all ages!

Master Josh cares about each child as his own. Alex Martial Arts isn't just TWD, it is personal development and leadership skills for every student. I love the way he has a personal message for each student at stripe testing and belt graduations, too.
This class was super helpful and the instructor (Josh) makes it both fun and informative. Highly recommend this class as well as the Kickboxing class!

We have an energetic 4 year old who has some behavioral difficulties. We wanted to involve him in a structured program that would help him exert energy but also keep him in line with acceptable behavior. Master Josh and his team do such a wonderful job at meeting each child where they’re at and coaching them appropriately. Some kids need more encouragement than others while others need a more disciplined approach. They’re able to do this and create a fun and exciting class that our son looks forward to!
My kids and I have participated in classes over the past 3 years especially the little Tigers program which my kids have learned respect, self confidence and self defense from their great teacher Master Josh. We feel the structure and environment are very good for our entire family. Would highly recommend this school.
In a few short weeks my daughter has better control of calming her body and improved listening skills. The exercise and energy burning is a bonus! I have observed the skill and patience Master Josh has to keep very young children engaged throughout class. I enjoy watching the more experienced kids be awesome role models to the newer students. Alexandria Martial Arts & Movements has been an incredible experience for my daughter. Josh and his team do way more than simply teaching kids martial arts. My daughter has learned focus, respect for others, courteously, courage, and confidence. My daughter isn't the most athletic but Josh and his team have been patient to help her grow in her skills and character since she has been a part of this wonderful program over the past 2 years. I would strongly recommend this martial arts school to anyone that wants quality instruction and someone who cares as much about character as they might about martial arts skills. ALSO... my kids have SO MUCH FUN!

As a busy mom and business owner I was so excited to find Alex Martial Arts 6 years ago! To be able to punch and kick my stress and frustrations away on a heavy bag sounded like so much fun to me! I had no idea that was just the beginning. My husband started not long after I did at the 5:15am Empower Boxing class and enjoys not only the workout but also the fun they have in class. My oldest son joined Taekwondo 2 years ago when he was 7. He loves going to class and is on track to get his junior black belt in about a year which was his goal from the beginning. The way Master Josh includes personal development with physical development in every class has enabled him to control his anger and frustration. We have seen such a huge shift in him! Two of my other boys started in Little Tigers as soon as they turned 4. The growth in gross motor skills and confidence absolutely amazed me! This summer they both wanted to try Parkour and will continue. It's ultimately the same skills and of course the same personal development in a way that just fits them better right now. Again, the improvement in gross motor skills and development for my 5 year old has been such a blessing. He may have been considered "delayed" by some, but the way he can land his jumps and control his body after just a few months makes me a happy mama! Over the last 6 years I have been blessed to be a part of Empower Boxing, Mastery, and Taekwondo. It has given me a confidence that I have never known. I have done things I didn't think was physically or mentally possible. We all love Alex Martial Arts! Every instructor there is there because they want to help make you better and stronger in what ever way that is for you.
I love that Josh Waltzing does more than just exercise and skills. He teaches life skills, manners and behaviors at the same time. My kids are definitely better people for having known Josh and his family.
My son attends Alex Martial Arts through their taekwondo programs and he loves it! Master Josh and the other instructors have done a great job making a program that teaches, keeps kids active and engaged and their reflexive teaching methods also keeps them safe and healthy even during lockdown. He’s made great friends and it’s a great time!
