Very welcoming and fun environment.
Love the 10P crowd. Pleasure to learn from Coach Nate. Clean bathrooms are a huge plus
Great gym and even better group of guys! Super clean gym, very welcoming I highly recommend.
Been a few times so far and I really like it! I’m no stranger to martial art, but this has been my first time doing Bang Muay Thai, and Donnie is a great instructor—knowledgeable and very competent in what he teaches, and he is very good at presenting the material in an accessible way. Carlos is also a fantastic instructor, obviously very knowledgeable, but also very approachable, and can motivate people without being a jerk to them! I more recently tried out the all levels Jiu Jitsu class, which was also led by Donnie, and I loved it! The school, staff, and other students are all very welcoming and everyone is there to share in bettering themselves. Very great experience and I’m definitely continuing with both BMT and BJJ! The gym is clean and looks nice (clean, inviting), the equipment is in great shape, they are a trans inclusive gym, and the other students there are friendly and supportive of noobs 😎 great experience all around, highly recommended!
My two siblings and I have been going here for about three months now. Super super clean! There are so many classes to go to and all are taught by very skilled people. Everyone there is friendly, nice, and they make everyone feel welcome. I love this place and the people in it! Come join us for some classes!!!!
Great spot for military at Kirtland to train. Right out the Eubank gate, check it out!
Great community of people led by extremely knowledgeable and talented coaches in a very upscale building. Definitely the best place in Albuquerque to do jiu jitsu.
We went for a trial class while traveling and loved it! The instructor made us feel comfortable and he was very knowledgeable. The other students were friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on coming back for a drop in!
My five year old has been attending for about six months now and we are both happy with 10th Planet. I chose 10th Planet because my son is neurodiverse and I thought jiu-jitsu would be a good physical activity to meet his sensory needs and to teach him some self-defense. My son has made friends and his motor skills have improved. His OT says he moves more confidently. We really like that there is no uniform requirement and that the atmosphere is friendly and less formal than another martial art place we tried (my son didn't like the gi and was expected to stay still for too long). Coach Donnie provides structure and authority, but is also very tolerant and fun. There are no testing fees which are common in other dojos. Classes are easy to fit into your schedule because class meets four times a week for 45 minutes (we try to go at least twice per week). The price is reasonable compared to other places I looked at for young kids. Coach Donnie is a master at mixing teaching skills and games in the 4 to 7 year old class (there is a class for older kids too) and the owner and other coaches are friendly and fill in well when Coach Donnie is out. The parents of the kids are also very friendly and a great source of knowledge for all things kid-related in Albuquerque. For all these reasons, I highly recommend 10th Planet for kids.
Been training here with my parents for over 5 and a half years now I have a blue and both my parents have a purple belt…. 10th planet ABQ is my second home and family. It is a unique gym… a melting pot of techniques and talent… I am honored to call this place my home gym. All the instructors are a wealth of knowledge… I started with no experience or background 5 and a half years ago every single coach was so patient with me… and with the help of this amazing community and with Nate as your Head coach the heights you’ll reach are unfathomable…. I have experienced exponential growth with my abilities as a martial artist…. And it’s definitely reflected in my personal life and relationships as well.you definitely won’t leave any class the same person you were when you entered.
I attended a women’s self defense class. I can definitely say the instructors and students were very helpful. Also that class was very empowering for women which I greatly appreciated. Also a welcoming environment as well and would recommend!
Been training with 10th planet for 5 years hands down the best jujitsu in Albuquerque.
Outstanding instructors, an inspiring atmosphere, and unparalleled coaching. Under the guidance of Nate and the 10th Planet team, I've gained invaluable experience and greatly enhanced my skills in BJJ.
Love this place. Love the people. Heck, I even love the trippy fractal rash guard I got from them. It’s a solid “5 outta 5 would recommend” from me.
Brought my youth wrestlers in to see if it will be something they would be interested in doing in the off season they seem to like it before the class start. I love the new location it's conveniently nearby. I am hoping they will be inspired to add some new moves to their arsenal. I'm excited to see what 10P can do for them if they decide to keep coming back. Donnie has been a great help so far.
Did a drop-in while driving by. 25$ for 2.5hrs starting at 6pm. Super chill and fun guys to train with. In beginner class we drilled basic stance and movement, arm drag to back take and to sitted back take. Regular class after that was about rubber guard. Completely new concept for me, and I suck at BJJ in general, yet somehow they managed to teach me something. Overhook and collar tie from closed guard to New York, then Chill Dog, then rubber guard through Kung-Fu move (grab the wrist) and attack with one hand from there (kimura(track your own thigh), armbar, wrist lock) Hope I can drop by once again on the way back!
Great classes for the kids with patient and experienced teachers. Update - we ended up having the rest of the family join as we were so impressed with Nate and his team!
Highly recommend coming to this place to get some great training with some true ninjas! 💪🏼🙏🏼
Going on 2 months training here & never having done any martial art before this place couldn’t have been a better place to start. Coaches and atmosphere are A+, beginner & all level classes have a clear built on progression and sitting in on a competition class opened up perspective on new goals. If you’re even thinking about trying JJ give this place a chance I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
I learned valuable life lessons about teamwork and the power within myself. I can also punch a hole in reality now which is neat.
10th planet Albuquerque is the perfect gym to learn jiu jitsu. The coaches are patient and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and there’s tons of mat space. They offer striking classes in addition to grappling. This gym caters to the hobbyists as well as the serious competitors. I highly recommend training here.
Very knowledgable instructors, great facility, welcoming environment!
I have instructed for 24 years. I have seen a lot of training facilities and gyms. This is the best place for grappling arts. Safety, from the warm ups to the techniques safety is paramount. Experience, all of the instructors have exceptional knowledge from the best grapplers in the world, like Marcelo Garcia to Craig Jones and more. Community, everyone here is focused on getting better no egos, just good people and vibes everyone welcome. I am 44 these people have gotten me in the best shape of my life no more high blood pressure. Thank you, Nate, Ferg, Donnie, Joe, and Heather
I trained here when I was in town for work for 10 weeks. The environment was super welcoming and the people were exceptionally cool. The classes were taught in a way that emphasized important elements of the modern jiu jitsu game (wrestling, leg locks, etc.). There are lots of opportunities to get mat time in and they just recently added striking classes as well. I would highly recommend dropping in if you are in the area and will do the same if I am ever back in ABQ again.
I have 3 girls that take classes here (two teens & a 5 year old). The coaches are great and the classes are fun! Everything is super clean & there are a ton of class times to choose from. I highly recommend bringing your kids here.
I learned more in my first class than I did in 2 months at another academy. Had a blast and signed up on the spot! Atmosphere is friendly and I was immediately welcomed by everyone. No-gi(no karate uniform) is more practical than traditional gi, and it's not as hot!
I thought this was a new ice cream parlor, at least that’s what I was hoping for. What a surprise to enter a dojo and have to prove my wrestling ability against a 5 black belts. They were no match for me. But still, I will continue to train here until I learn a new 10 hit combo just like in the arcade classic Street Fighter alpha 3. Which I once owned on the SEGA Dreamcast which I believe to be one of the finest home consoles of that time and many agree it was highly underrated. Alas, this tale of gaming nostalgia is for another time…
I’ve been training at 10th Planet Albuquerque since they opened this location. I’ve been a practicing martial artist for 30 years and wanted to try grappling. All of the coaches are both knowledgeable and personable, making classes a pleasure (even when, occasionally, painful). This location, just South of I-40 makes getting to the gym easy from anywhere in town. If you are thinking about starting martial arts or trying a different school, stop in and ask questions and take a trial class. You won’t regret it.
Had a great class here with the 10th planet crew. Small weekend class drilling Rubber guard. The coach was patient and answered any questions we had. The mats were clean and their brand gear is wicked comfortable and looks good while rolling. Thanks again for the west coast hospitality. I highly recommend dropping in with group whatever your level of BJJ is.
Dropped in for a class while visiting Abq and was blown away. High level instruction and training. Everyone was very welcoming. Beautiful clean facility with the coolest gym entrance in all of BJJ. Will be visiting again soon!
Came to Albuquerque for a few days from Tennessee looking to move here within the next year and was wanting a place to train while here. 10th Planet Albuquerque is the place to stop by. Great training and great people in the jiu jitsu community. Especially for someone who is introverted. I wished I could have stayed longer in Albuquerque and train more here. Definitely recommend coming here. Thanks again to the staff and athletes here.
Attended a lunch class here for the first time today. Excellent place! Learned alot and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
Love this place! Always have so much fun training here when I’m in town! Very welcoming crew, and high level instruction.
10th Planet Abq is awesome! Great place to build confidence, make friends, and test your mental and physical toughness.
Nate and crew were really great! I am new to the sport, they paced their program accordingly, it was nice to be taken care of so well. If you're a first timer it is likely you'll leave with a smile. All the best, Kyle
No better place in abq to train no gi bjj.
This is a great place to train but it's so much more than that. The team works well with each other, they support and help each other and they work at advancing your level. The number one rule there is take care of your partner and it shows. I'm by far the oldest guy there and they are all welcome. These coaches are the best
I have been training here for the past month. The facility is welcoming and the staff is awesome! The members have built up a strong community that is very inviting. Coach Nate Harris is a great coach and keeps classes fun and challenging.
Very welcoming place to train by very skilled coaches. Coaches Nate and Ike are not only great at training, but building a community around their gym.
