Tacoma's BJJ calendar is led by Grappling X, which runs the Washington State Jiu Jitsu Championships in the city several times a year. The American Grappling Federation holds the AGF Tacoma Championships, and MDL Northwest and NAGA's Washington Grappling Championship have also run in the area.
Around half of events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and about a third include kids and absolute brackets. November is the busiest month, followed by September and March. Some events are listed in nearby Auburn and Lakewood.
