Salt Lake City is one of the busiest BJJ tournament cities in the Mountain West. Grappling Industries Salt Lake City is by far the most frequent event, returning many times a year.
Pro Open JJ, The Pit Challenge and the Impact BJJ Summit Games are regular local fixtures, and Tap Cancer Out runs its Salt Lake City BJJ Open here. The Velocity Grappling Series has held qualifiers in the city, and United Grappling also visits.
October is the busiest month, followed by April, January, September and February. Gi and No-Gi divisions are both offered at most events, more than half include an absolute division, and close to four in ten have kids divisions. Round-robin brackets under house rules are common, and entry typically costs around $30–$90.
