Orange is a regular host for BJJ tournaments in Orange County, with events also held in nearby Mission Viejo, Downey, Fountain Valley and Lake Forest. CompNet is the most active organizer, running the CompNet California Summer, Autumn and Winter Championships, the CompNet USA West Coast Regional Championship and CompNet US Nationals.
The AIGA California Championship has been held in Orange and Downey, and other events include Russ Miura's Subfighter BJJ No Gi Fall Challenge, Dream BJJ: White Belt Edition and Jiu Jitsu League Fest.
Gi divisions are offered at around six in ten events and No-Gi at a little under half. Around one in five include kids divisions, while absolute divisions are rare. Custom rules and IBJJF rules are both used. Entry typically costs around $70–$109. November is the busiest month, followed by August, October and March.
