Myrtle Beach has a seasonal BJJ calendar centred on the summer months. The Chewjitsu Open Myrtle Beach is the most frequent event, alongside NAGA Myrtle Beach Grappling Championship and NEWBREED's Myrtle Beach Summer Championship and Triple Crown Series. The Blue Coast Jiu Jitsu League and All In Grappling's Myrtle Beach Classic have also run here.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are each offered at just under half of events, and around one in four includes an absolute division. Kids divisions are less common than in many cities. August is by far the busiest month, followed by May, with occasional events in March, July and September.
