Milwaukee is one of the busiest BJJ tournament cities in Wisconsin. Grappling Industries Milwaukee is the most frequent event, returning several times a year with its round-robin format. FUJI BJJ runs the Milwaukee Fall Open and Milwaukee Winter Open, and Combat Corner Grappling Championship hosts the Dairyland Open.
Other competitions in the city include the Wisconsin State Championships, NAGA Wisconsin and United Grappling events. Some events also run in nearby New Berlin.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in equal measure, and around four in ten events include kids divisions. A little over a quarter have an absolute division. Round-robin brackets are common thanks to Grappling Industries. Entry typically costs around $30–$94. December and October are the busiest months, followed by September, February and June.
