Jefferson City has a regular BJJ tournament calendar led by Submission Challenge, which returns to the city each September and also runs events in nearby Columbia. The FUJI BJJ Jefferson City Open and the Jefferson City Open have also been held here.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, around two in five include kids divisions and over half have an absolute division. Submission Challenge events use double-elimination brackets with EBI-style overtime. September is the busiest month, followed by December and May.
