Gatlinburg's BJJ tournament calendar centers on the Chewjitsu Open Gatlinburg, which returns to the city each year. Some editions have doubled as Professional Grappling Federation (PGF) qualifiers.
Events use submission-only rules with round-robin brackets. Just over half of events list Gi and No-Gi divisions, and some include kids and absolute divisions. December is by far the busiest month, followed by November.
