Dallas has one of the busiest BJJ competition calendars in Texas, with events spread across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Most tournaments are held in Dallas, and events also run in nearby Fort Worth, Plano and Crowley.
Recurring competitions include NEWBREED Dallas championships, the Combat Sports Report Invitational, WSLS DFW, Grappling Industries Dallas Fort Worth, the CompNet Dallas Autumn Championship, Rock and Roll Grapplefest and the AGF Kids Novice Championships. The Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu Federation, PBJJF North America, United Grappling and The Mat Mission Tournament also organize events.
Gi divisions are a little more common than No-Gi, and around a quarter of events include kids divisions. Rulesets vary, with submission-only and IBJJF events both on the calendar. Entry is typically around $20–$100. November is the busiest month, followed by October, June, April and December.
