Cleveland's BJJ competition calendar is led by Grappling Industries Cleveland, which returns several times a year. NAGA, United Grappling, the NEWBREED Cleveland New Year Open and the FUJI BJJ Cleveland Spring Championship have also been held in the city.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and more than half include kids and absolute divisions. Round-robin brackets under house rules are common. Entry is typically around $30–$105. December is the busiest month, followed by September, April, March and May.
