Cincinnati has a regular BJJ competition calendar, with Grappling Industries Cincinnati returning several times a year. Most events are held in the city, and some also run in nearby Lebanon and Batavia.
FUJI BJJ is another key organizer, running the FUJI BJJ Cincinnati Winter Championship, the Cincinnati Fall Championship and the Ohio State Championship. NAGA hosts the Cincinnati Grappling Championship, and United Grappling has also held events in the city.
Around three quarters of events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and around two thirds include kids divisions. Just under half run an absolute division. Round-robin brackets are common. Entry is typically around $30–$98. November is the busiest month, followed by April, February, May and August.
