Adelaide has a steady calendar of BJJ competitions, from international brands to local club events. Grappling Industries Adelaide is the best-known jiu jitsu tournament in the city and returns regularly, while the Australian Grappling League runs its Adelaide Championships with both Gi and No-Gi divisions. If you are planning your Adelaide BJJ competition schedule for 2026, these are the series to watch.
Other recurring events include the South Australian Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship, the Synergy Pro Round Robin Series and the M16 Open. Complete Control Martial Arts hosts a regular kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu competition, giving younger grapplers a chance to compete close to home. AFBJJ-SA also appears among the local organisers, and some events take place in nearby Edwardstown.
No-Gi divisions are offered slightly more often than Gi, and more than a third of events include an absolute division. Kids divisions feature at a little under a third of events. Rules vary by organiser, with submission only and custom house rules both in use, and formats include round robin and double elimination brackets. Adult entry usually costs around A$30โA$100. November and August are among the busier months for grappling events.
