Description
Welcome to CCMA’s Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu Competition. This event is designed to provide a welcoming entry point for newcomers to competition, offer regular opportunities for the continued development of existing competitors, and support the growth of Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu in South Australia by delivering consistent and accessible competitive experiences.
Group Format
The competition will use a custom group format, with all registrants organised by age and weight. This approach is designed to maximise available matchups while maintaining competitive fairness.
Groupings are determined by the organiser and, along with the competition schedule, will be published no later than the Thursday prior to the event.
If a coach or parent has a merit-based concern regarding the published groupings, they are encouraged to contact the organiser to discuss. Any changes to groupings or the schedule made from Thursday onwards will be communicated directly to parents.
Rules
All matches will be contested under the AFBJJ ruleset minus advantages and penalties.
These rules will be implemented at the discretion of referees with previous experience officiating Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu. Their judgement within a match will be considered final and there will be no review process with or without video footage.
Please Note - Athlete safety is the number one priority of officials and they will have the ability to call a submission on an athletes behalf if they consider the situation to be one which may lead too injury (e.g. fully extended arm bar, figure four control with hand behind back, etc).
Medals
All competitors will receive a medal when they have completed each of their scheduled matches. These medals are participation based, and are not indicative of placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).
