ESTIMATION of the Planning on Event Day

The team reserves the right to close the weigh-in if the majority of the athletes have already weigh-ed in.

  • 8h30 :                     Doors opening 
  • 8h45 -10h15  :       Weigh-in
  • 9h30 :                     Briefing
  • 10h15 max :             Competition start
  • First break around 12h30 (15 minutes)
  • Second break around 15h environ (15 minutes)
  • 17h-19h  :               Estimated end of competition

Grappling by weight and experience level

  1. Beginners : WHITE belt and LESS than 2 years of experience
  2. Intermediates : Maximum BLUE belt and 4 years of experience
  3. Advanced : more than 4 years of experience

Weight classes :

  • 61.5 Kg and under (51.5 for women)
  • 67.5 Kg and under (56.5 for women)
  • 73.5 Kg and under (61.5 for women)
  • 79.5 Kg and under (66.5 for women)
  • 85.5 Kg and under (71.5 for women)
  • 85.6 Kg and over (71.6 for women)

A valid ID will be required at the weigh-in. A weight tollerance of 300g will be accepted.

No refunds or registration modifications the day of the competition.

⚠️Experience Checks⚠️

All athlète that is a black belt in Judo, blue belt (or higher) un luta livre, having a national level experience un wrestling (of any kind) or that has already fought in amateur (at least) MMA; cannot register for the begginer level. 

At approximatelly one month until the event we will be checking every registered/paid athlete for their correct experience level in accoding with our ruleset.

If we have doubts you will be contacted to be placed in the adequate division.

Open Class : Gi & No-Gi

All registered athletes go head to head in a single elimination bracket, without distinction of weight class or experience level. The rule set is the one for the No-Gi beggier/intermediate level.

What is the estimated event-day schedule for Underdog Tournament #12?
Doors open at 8h30. Weigh-in is estimated for 8h45-10h15, briefing at 9h30, and competition starts by 10h15 max. The estimated end of competition is 17h-19h.

What is the deadline for weight class or experience level changes?

How does the Open Class work?
The Open Class is Gi & No-Gi. All registered athletes compete in a single elimination bracket without distinction of weight class or experience level, using the No-Gi beggier/intermediate level ruleset.
Are there prizes for any divisions?
For No-Gi Intermediates, winners of a bracket of 12 or more people receive free registration for the next event, UT 13. For No-Gi Advanced, all bracket winners receive free registration for UT 13.
