Description

An Outdoor Double Elimination Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi & No-Gi Tournament for Adult and Youth Competitors

FORMAT: We will be using a Submission Only Double Elimination format with a referees decision should there be no submission.  For more information please visit our website https://www.stayhungrygrappling.com/rules-1

NO PREDETERMINED WEIGHT DIVISIONS: We create brackets based on the registered competitors age and weight, and gender.

Kids use a general 2 year/10 lb range and we aim to separate boys and girls at 10 but prioritize a high quality bracket over this rule.

Adults will be separated into Adult or Master categories with a range of up to 20 lbs. Whenever possible, we aim to make age and weight ranges more narrow for Masters divisions. However, we prioritize providing high-quality populated brackets in order to give you more matches. Our aim is to try to make all brackets have 6 competitors minimum if possible*  For more information please visit our website https://www.stayhungrygrappling.com/rules-1

REFUND POLICY: You will receive 100% refund as long as registration is still open. Once registration closes there will be no changes to registrations including no refunds. If you would like to submit a refund it can be done via the athletes Smoothcomp account. If we are unable to provide you with a match after registration closes, we will refund your registration 100%.

MAX CAPACITY: 150 entries will be our maximum amount of entries as it is our goal to provide everyone with an extraordinary competition experience both in terms of organization and number of matches. Exceeding our capacity would jeopardize our ability to achieve our goal.

FREE T-SHIRT: Register during our Early Bird Registration period to receive a Free T shirt! (To be collected at the event. First come, First Serve for sizing)

RULES: https://www.stayhungrygrappling.com/rules-1

WEIGH INS: You will weigh in the day of the event, dressed to compete. If you are registered for both Gi and No-Gi you can weigh in for both at the same time. If you are registered for both you may weigh in for No-Gi in Gi pants and a rashguard. Competitors who do not make weight or are not weighed in when called to the mat to compete will be disqualified and will receive no refund. We strongly discourage weight cutting and recommend all athletes register for their actual walk around weight.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE EVENT:

ALWAYS BE CHECKING SMOOTHCOMP FOR YOUR MATCH TIME(S)
Head towards the sheltered area in the middle of the park. This is where you will find the competition mats and washrooms where you can get changed. Near by you will find the weigh in station. Check in and get weighed in. Pay attention to your match times warm up accordingly. There will be a warm up area provided. If you are no where to be found or not weighed in when called to the mat to compete, you will be Disqualified. Athletes will be responsible for being mat side when it is their turn to compete which can all be found on smoothcomp under the current matches tab. These times update live and may change so it is very important to keep a close eye on smoothcomp. DONT FORGET TO REFRESH THE TAB EACH TIME YOU CHECK

Competitors should be at least 90 minutes early for their first scheduled match as they will need time to get dressed, weighed in, and warmed up. We also potentially could be ahead of schedule.
