SafeSport: 

Sooner Judo Club operates in full compliance with the SafeSport policies of ATJA, USA Judo, and the United States Center for SafeSport.

All coaches, referees, and adult participants are required to maintain current SafeSport training in accordance with USA Judo regulations.

Any athlete needing to change clothes/judogi should do so in a restroom, locker room or other area specifically designated for changing.

Registrations

ALL COMPETITORS MUST CHECK IN AND WEIGH IN BEFORE THEIR FIRST MATCH ON October 24, 2026.

SANCTION: ATJA - Pending Approval

Juniors, cadets, and teens may register for 2 divisions. Athletes may be moved up in age or weight, based on division availability and coach/parent input.

Athletes entering multiple divisions will receive a $10 discount on each additional division.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

Weigh-Ins: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Referee Clinic: 9:30 AM

Competition Begins: 10:00 AM

Competition areas are approximately 6 meter squares with a safety zone of 4 meters on each side. 

Eligibility

Judo players age 5 or older, currently members of USA Judo or ATJA. Please have your membership card at registration USA Judo memberships can be obtained at  https://usajudo.sport80.com/public/wizard/a/1125/home. ATJA  membership can be obtained https://members.atja.org/join-us. 

Approximate match times may be published online. Coaches, parents, and athletes are responsible for monitoring brackets and mat assignments throughout the event.

BRACKETING

The Oklahoma Judo Association may utilize Madison-style bracketing and division combining where appropriate to maximize participation opportunities and minimize uncontested divisions.

Divisions will be posted online for review when possible.

Coaches, parents, and athletes are responsible for reviewing posted divisions and reporting any concerns prior to competition.

The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine, split, or adjust divisions as necessary to promote safe and meaningful competition.

AWARDS

Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each division.

Additional awards and special recognitions may be presented at the discretion of the tournament staff.

Weigh-Ins

10/24/2026: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM

Practice scales will be available for athletes. 

General Protocols for All Weigh-Ins

Athletes presenting themselves for weigh-in may undress down to:

     •  For males, briefs or boxer shorts, t-shirts, bathing suits

     •  For females, bathing suits, underwear and bra and/or T-shirt/leotards

Nude weigh-ins are NOT permitted.

All divisions will receive a 1 kilogram weight allowance.

Note: We will not guarantee participation for any athlete who weighs in more than 1 kilogram over the allowable weight limit.
