Divisions & Matchmaking
At registration, parents select an experience level, age band, and weight range. All three are used to build fair, age-appropriate divisions. We cannot guarantee competitive match ups even when match ups look perfect on paper, things can play out completely different, this is competitive sport and someone has to lose.

- Intermediate: 3β5 competitions. White to Green/Blue belt.

Final match-ups are confirmed closer to the event to account for registrations and withdrawals. Where appropriate, divisions are run as round-robin pools to maximise mat time for every competitor.
Division Mergers:
Divisions may be merged where insufficient numbers exist to form a standalone bracket. The following merge criteria apply:
- Weight: Athletes may be merged up one weight class only. Moving down is not permitted unless the athlete meets that weight.
- Age: Athletes may be merged up one age group. Moving down in age is not permitted.
- Experience: Athletes may be merged up one experience level. Moving down is not permitted.
- If a competitor is left without a match after all merges have been applied, a full refund will be issued.
