Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is PEACE CUP HIROSHIMA 02 held?
The tournament is on December 26th, 2026 at Hiroshima Green Arena Budojo (Hiroshima Prefectural General Gymnasium) in Hiroshima City.
Which divisions are offered (Gi/No‑Gi and age categories)?
The event offers both Gi and NOGI (grappling) divisions for Kids, Adults, and Masters; NOGI divisions are available for all age categories.
What rules govern the matches and safety?
Matches generally follow IBJJF rules, with earlier stoppage for submission attempts in Kids divisions and referees able to stop fights for safety regardless of the rules.
How and when are weigh‑ins conducted?
Weigh‑ins are done immediately before each match; competitors should wait near the weigh‑in area about three to four matches before their bout and wait to be called by staff.
What are the team (3 x 3) event formats running at the tournament?
The tournament runs simultaneous Kids team event “PEACE CUP KIDS 3 x 3” and Adult team event “PEACE CUP 3 x 3,” each with teams of 3 members and one required coach per team.
What are team size, coach rules, and eligibility exceptions?
Each team must have 3 competitors and one coach; one person may coach multiple teams and one person may be both coach and competitor, teams from one academy may enter multiple teams, and age/belt or cross‑academy composite teams are permitted when numbers don’t match.
What are the team weight limits and match time rules for Kids and Adults?
Kids team total weight limits are: lower elementary 120 kg, upper elementary 150 kg, middle school 180 kg, high school 200 kg; Kids match times are 3, 4, 4, and 5 minutes respectively, with a 1‑minute reduction if a bout has a 10 kg or greater weight difference. Adult team total weight limits are male 240 kg and female 210 kg, with Adult and Master match times of 5 minutes and a 1‑minute reduction for 10 kg+ weight differences.
How are winners determined in the team events and how are fouls handled?
Victories are decided only by submission (choke or joint lock) or disqualification by foul; there are no points or advantages, winners face the next opponent, draws eliminate both competitors, and a team loses if its final competitor (captain) loses—if captains draw, the referee decides the winner. Foul rules follow IBJJF standards and for Adults minor fouls accumulate and the 4th minor foul results in disqualification while major fouls cause immediate disqualification.
How do I register and what are the entry fees for team events?
Entry is via your academy representative who must email team details (team name, gender category, age category, belt category, three competitors’ full names, and coach’s full name) to leosjiujitsu@gmail.com; Kids team fee is 9000円 per team (3000円 per person) and Adult team fee is 15000円 per team (5000円 per person).
