10th Planet Jiu Jitsu South Melbourne is proud to host its next No Gi submission only grappling tournament on Sunday the 15th November 2026!

Matches are 5 minutes in a round robin format with EBI OT rules and is open to anyone and all affiliations wishing to compete.

***FORMAT***

  • Weigh ins will commence from 8:00am
  • Rules demonstration and meeting at 9:00am sharp - All competitors must be present for a rules demonstration
  • First match starts at 9:30am
  • Matches will be 5 minute sub-only rounds with EBI OT rules in place if the match results in a draw

POINTS ARE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS:

  • 5 points - win by submission
  • 3 points - win by submission in overtime
  • 1 point - win by fastest escape

***WEIGHT CATEGORIES***

Standard weight classes apply for White & Blue Belt divisions and Female Advanced Division

The following divisions are in place:

Female - White, Blue & Advanced Belt Divisions

U56kg, U61kg, U66kg, U71kg, 71kg+

Male - White & Blue Belt Divisions

U61kg, U67kg, U73kg, U79kg, U85kg, U91kg, U97kg, 97kg+

Male - Advanced Belt Division

U60kg, U70kg, U80kg, U90kg, 91kg+

***INFO TO KNOW***

  • This is a win by submission only tournament ... this means you get the tap within 5 minutes or the round goes into EBI OT (Eddie Bravo Invitational Overtime Rules)
  • EBI OT rules in effect for all matches with no result - starting positions are spiderweb and back control / back mount with hooks in  
  • The person who goes first for EBI OT is decided on the referee's coin toss
  • A professional medic is on hand to provide first aid for the utmost safety of our competitors 
  • 3 rings will run on the day
  • Plenty of street parking is available with no restrictions on Sundays

All techniques / submissions are allowed except for:

  • Slamming or spiking of any kind
  • Full Nelson
  • Small joint manipulations of any kind 
  • Hand smothering across the mouth / face
  • Jumping Guard 
  • Scissor Takedowns
  • Twisters, Toe Holds and Heel Hooks permitted for blue belt and above only

Athlete’s responsibility to make weight:

It is your responsibility as a competitor to ensure you make the correct weight on the day for the category you have chosen to enter in. 

We allow a maximum of 1000g / 1.0kg allowance for clothing … that is it!  We advise you to check your category prior to competing to ensure you are on weight - you have the option to move your division yourself in Smoothcomp prior to the registration close date. 

In fairness to other competitors, if you present over your weight category, you will be disqualified.

*** REFUND POLICY ***

All registrations are final. Refunds are not valid for change of mind reasons. Refunds will only be issued on request via email and up until Friday 15th November 2026 11:59pm.  Proof of Paypal receipt must be submitted with your request.  All 3rd party fees will be removed on refunds on processing. As an alternative to a refund, you may hold a credit for the total value of your competition entry and use this for your next competition entry to a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu South Melbourne Tournament.  Refund requests after the Friday 15th November 2026 will not be accepted and you will forfeit your competition entry fee.

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu South Melbourne utilises photography and videography for its events for marketing purposes.  If you do not wish to appear on social media in photographs / video / tagging, please make 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu South Melbourne aware in writing. 

We welcome competitors to film their own matches if they wish. If you are a photographer / videographer wanting to take footage at our event, you must contact us in writing at josh@10thplanetsouthmelbourne.com.au

When is the tournament?
The No Gi submission only grappling tournament is on Sunday the 15th November 2026.
When does registration close?
Registration is open until Thursday 12th November. Registrations after the 12th of November will not be accepted.
Who can compete?
The tournament is adults only, 18+. Teens are not accepted, and the event is open to anyone and all affiliations wishing to compete.

What are the spectator and competitor limits?
The spectator fee is $10. The tournament has a 100 competitor limit.
What happens if I miss weight?
