A concession stand will be open and operated by the high school booster club onsite at the tournament.

BRACKETS, SCHEDULE AND DIVISIONS:

This tournament will have brackets for men’s and women's divisions, and for competitors age 4 and up. All skill levels are welcome.

Tournament medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Team trophies will be awarded for Overall Team Champions, Adult Team Champions, Kids Team Champions.

Cash prizes for: Fastest Submission $50, Men's No Gi Absolute Champion $100, Men's Gi Absolute Champion $100, Women's No Gi Absolute Champion $100, Women's Gi Absolute Champion $100

The competitor list will be viewable throughout the registration process. Please ensure your information is entered correctly by checking your registration on the registration tab above.

CHANGING DIVISIONS:

All competitors, coaches, and parents will have until November 3rd, 11:59 PM, prior to registration closing, to make any edits to their registrations. You can make these changes by logging into your account and modifying your registration details. At this deadline, registrations become finalized, and there will be no further changes allowed. Competitors who find themselves without another competitor in their division may choose to move themselves up in division (weight or rank) or cancel the registration for a full credit.

BRACKET COMBINATIONS:

After the deadline to edit registration info on November 3rd, 11:59 PM, competitors who do not have anyone in their division will be combined into another appropriate division. All athletes who remain alone in their divisions once brackets are finalized, and have no combinations available to them, they will receive a full coupon credit for entry to any future Nebraska Jiu-Jitsu Championship event.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY:

In the event you have to cancel your registration, a full event credit will be provided automatically via SmoothComp. The cancellation deadline is by November 3rd,  11:59 PM. After the deadline to edit registration, all registrations are considered final with no event credit available. Credits are issued when you log into your account and cancel your event registration. Coupon codes are viewable in the “My Account” area of SmoothComp. Competitors whose opponents no showed or withdrew from their division, leaving them without a match on event day, will receive a full coupon credit if there are no other appropriate divisions available.

BRACKETS AND SCHEDULE:

Friday Afternoon before the tournament, November 6th, the event brackets and schedule will be released. You will be able to locate both on the event page brackets and schedule tab. At the tournament, there will be a flat screen TV where the event schedule is displayed. The referee at your mat will also make a courtesy call for you to come to the mat if you haven’t already presented yourself for the bracket. Please be at the mat on time for your matches. We ask that you make sure to be present in the venue at least 60 minutes prior to your division start time. Some matches end faster than others, so this may allow us to start some divisions sooner. You can also see when your matches are coming up by checking the tab on your mobile device during the competition. The schedule is tentative and may change based on the number of athletes registered.

COACH CHAIR and CROWD CONTROL: We will have 1 chair on each side of every score table, 1 for each coach of the competitor on the mat. The only other people allowed within the barricades during the tournament are the competitors on the mat having their match and the competitors on deck.

MEDIC ON HAND: There will be a professionally trained medic on site.

WEIGH-INS:

Weigh-ins begin at 8 AM the day of the tournament. Athletes may weigh in throughout the day but must weigh-in at least 60 minutes prior to the start of their division. Athletes may wear whatever appropriate attire they choose to weigh-in. You ARE NOT required to weigh in with your Gi. If an athlete cannot make weight, they will be moved up to the next available weight class, if there are no athletes in higher weight classes you will be disqualified. Athletes will be given a 3 lbs. weight allowance. We do this to ensure the integrity of the brackets. Registration may be edited by the athlete until November 3rd, 11:59 PM.

RULES:

Nebraska Jiu-Jitsu Championship runs a double elimination format. If there are two athletes in a division, it will be the best 2 out of 3. If there are three athletes in a division, it will be round-robin. If there are four or more athletes in a division, it will be double elimination. There will be a match to determine a third place.  In the event of a tie, in the round robin format, winners will be chosen based on most submissions, if there is still a tie, winner will be chosen by most points scored in the matches they win. Age 4-9 regulation time: 3 min matches at all skill levels.

Age 10-15 regulation time: 4 min matches all skill levels.

Age 16-17 regulation time: 5 min matches all skill levels.

Adult age 18-29 regulation time:

05 minutes – White

06 minutes – Blue

07 minutes – Purple

08 minutes – Brown

10 minutes – Black

Master age 30-39 regulation time:

05 minutes – White & Blue

06 minutes – Purple, Brown & Black

Senior age 40 and above regulation time:

05 minutes – All belt and skill levels.

No Gi

Age 4-9 regulation time: 3 min matches at all skill levels.

Age 10-15 regulation time: 4 min matches all skill levels.

Age 16-17 regulation time: 5 min matches all skill levels.

Adult age 18-29 regulation time:

05 minutes – Beginner

06 minutes – Intermediate

08 minutes – Advanced

Master age 30-39 regulation time:

05 minutes – Beginner

06 minutes – Intermediate and Advanced

Senior age 40 and above regulation time:

05 minutes – All skill levels.

WAYS A MATCH CAN BE WON:

Win via Submission within regulation time. Win via points within regulation time. Win by opponent disqualification. Win via opponent forfeiture. Win via referee decision.

Submission is based upon physical tapping, a verbal tap, or yelling during a submission attempt. If an opponent must have the match stopped for any injury related incident or any other reason beyond control that does not warrant any disqualifications, the opponent will have 5 mins to return to the match or they will have to forfeit the match.

WARM UP MATS:

Warm up mats will be set up for athletes and coaches only.

SPECTATOR PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR $5 PER PERSON AT THE DOOR (5 years of age and under free).

Each academy will be allowed up to 3 coaches to enter the event at no charge.
