MINORS’ CONSENT FORM REQUIRED
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu GI and NO-GI competition open to all athletes, Italian and foreign (even if not residing in Italy), aged 4 and above, holding insurance membership from a recognized promotional sports organization or affiliated federation.
The event’s proceeds will be used to support expenses for athletes on the National Teams participating in the IBJJF European Championships and to fund cash prizes for the top Teams.
BJJ ITALIA is able to cover the expenses for athletes on the Italian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu National Team (Gi and No-Gi) thanks to the income from national competitions it organizes. Therefore, all athletes who participate in BJJ ITALIA competitions contribute to funding National Team athletes, cash prizes for the most deserving teams, and the promotion and development of a more meritocratic and accessible Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

CASH PRIZES FOR TEAMS
In both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments, the top 3 ranked Teams will receive the following cash prizes along with a trophy:
Prize Pool: Minimum €1,200 – Maximum €3,200.

• €300 for the 1st Place Team in No-Gi
• €200 for the 2nd Place Team in Gi

NATIONAL TEAM GI (10 ATHLETES)
The Gi divisions in the Adult age group will serve as a selection trial for the Gi National Team that will be fully funded by BJJ ITALIA to compete at the 2026 IBJJF European Championships.
NATIONAL TEAM NO-GI (8 ATHLETES)
The No-Gi divisions in the Adult age group will serve as a selection trial for the No-Gi National Team that will be fully funded by BJJ ITALIA to compete at the 2026 IBJJF No-Gi European Championships.
Note: Prior to the IBJJF European Championships, first-place ranked Black Belts in Gi and No-Gi, due to difficulty obtaining IBJJF qualification points, may be awarded €500 instead of participating in the event.

NATIONAL TEAM KIDS (4 ATHLETES)
Divisions for age classes Kid 4 (10–11), Kid 5 (12–13), and Kid 6 (14–15) in Colored Belts will serve as selection trials for the Kids National Team that will be funded by BJJ ITALIA to compete at the 2026 IBJJF European Kids Championships.

COMPETITION REGISTRATION
BJJ ITALIA is the only Italian BJJ organization that keeps national event registration at only €28 to allow everyone to participate.
Athletes may register for both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments, and for both weight class and Openweight divisions (where available). Openweight entries are allowed regardless of weight class results.
Registration deadline on Smoothcomp: SUNDAY, JUNE 29.
Registration may close earlier if the max capacity is reached.

Fees payable on Smoothcomp:
• By SATURDAY, MAY 31 (discounted fees):
• €28 per Gi or No-Gi weight class (€18 for ages 4–15; €5 for Adult & Master Black Belts*)
• €18 per Openweight (€5 for Adult & Master Black Belts*)
• €10 discount if registering for both Gi and No-Gi (excluding Black Belts)
• By SUNDAY, JUNE 29 (standard fees):
• €38 per Gi or No-Gi weight class (€28 for ages 4–15; €10 for Adult & Master Black Belts*)
• €18 per Openweight (€5 for Adult & Master Black Belts*)
• €10 discount if registering for both Gi and No-Gi (excluding Black Belts)
Note: A small fee is now charged for Black Belts as many would register for free and not show up, causing major organizational issues.
All athletes must register their BJJ belt rank on Smoothcomp.
White belts cannot register if they have competed in:
• Pro MMA
• National-level MMA, Olympic wrestling, or Sambo tournaments
• Hold a Judo black belt or Grappling/MMA blue belt or higher

AGE CLASSES
Age classes are based on the age the athlete will turn within the calendar year.
(e.g., an athlete who is 17 on event day but turns 18 within the year can register for Juvenile or Adult)

MODIFICATIONS TO REGISTRATION
Until Tuesday, JULY 1, athletes can independently change:
• Weight class
• Minors: move to a higher age class (Adult class only with parental consent form and if alone in division)
• Masters: move to a lower Master class or to Adult class
• Kid 5 or Kid 6: switch from White Belt to Colored Belts
On Wednesday, JULY 2, athletes alone in a division or only facing teammates can request similar changes via email to:

Athletes alone in their bracket can choose not to move and show up to weigh in, receive a gold medal, and compete in Openweight if registered.

BRACKETS PUBLICATION
Brackets with estimated match times will be published on Friday, July 4 on Smoothcomp and will not be modified on-site.

ATHLETE & COACH ENTRY
Athletes and coaches must enter through the ground-floor athlete entrance.
To reach the bar (on the first floor), use the internal stairs only.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURE
Weigh-ins are from 8:00 to 16:00.
Athletes must weigh in at least 1 hour before their first estimated match time.
Bring ID and insurance card (ASC or recognized federation).
• No-Gi: weigh-in in competition shorts + rashguard (any color)
• Gi: weigh-in in full Gi (must be all white, royal blue, or black).
Under 16s can weigh in without the Gi.
If registered for both Gi and No-Gi, athletes may use the No-Gi weigh-in for Gi as well (the Gi category is ~2–3kg heavier).
Missed weight = disqualified from weight class, but you may still compete in Openweight (if registered and confirmed at weigh-in).
Kid 1 (ages 4–5): no weigh-in but must report with a guardian to confirm participation.
All Openweight athletes must confirm participation at weigh-in or will be removed from the bracket.
After weigh-in, verify a green dot appears next to your name on Smoothcomp.
If red, return to weigh-in desk immediately.

COMPETITION PROCEDURE
Estimated start time: 09:30
Athletes and coaches must bring a fully charged phone/tablet to access Smoothcomp for real-time updates.
No mat-side announcements will be made.
Athletes must monitor their match times and mat number.
10 minutes before their match, athletes must report to the correct mat area and stand silently in position:
• Upper bracket (green/yellow): left side of table official, wears green/yellow belt or ankle band
• Lower bracket: right side of table official
At the end of the prior match, report to the table official, give name, and ask to be authorized to compete.
Failure to weigh in or show up = disqualification.
If scheduled for simultaneous matches on different mats, inform the next mat’s table official.
If an athlete needs rest, a 5-minute recovery time may be requested.
Return belts/ankle bands to the table after your match.
Exit competition area immediately after your match.
Withdrawals must be reported to the table official.

AWARDS
After each final, the top 4 (1st, 2nd, two 3rds) must report to the podium area for medals (they are not called by name).
Only medalists may enter the podium area.

(https://bjjitalia.it/regolamento/), the IBJJF rules apply without advantage points.
(Under 16s follow BJJ ITALIA’s specific restrictions.)
Efforts will be made to avoid first-round matches between teammates.

ASC MEMBERSHIP
The competition is open to athletes from all recognized sports promotion bodies and federations.
All athletes and companions must present a valid ID and insurance card at the competition venue. Insurance coverage is provided by the respective organizations/federations to which the athletes belong.

REFUND POLICY
The following is our refund policy.
Only athletes who meet one of the following conditions:
• On the Thursday before the competition, they are alone in their weight category (and if registered for the Openweight, they are also alone in the Openweight division) and do not wish to attend the event to be awarded the gold medal;
• Are injured and have not yet regained medical clearance to compete and send a Hospital-issued medical certificate;
may request to withdraw from the competition and receive a coupon equal to the amount paid for registration (minus a €2 administrative fee), valid for one year, which can be used for registration in a future BJJ ITALIA event organized by the same organizer.
The request must be sent via email to trofeonorditaliaopen@gmail.com on Thursday before the competition (emails sent before this day will not be considered).
