We are proud to announce exciting updates for this yearâs Copa Da MalĂĄsia 2026.
All Kids, Juvenile, and Junior categories will follow a Round Robin format, ensuring multiple matches for all participants and a more enjoyable, developmental experience for young competitors.
In line with our mission to encourage early participation and confidence on the mats, we are officially introducing a Special Category for 3 & 4 Years Old.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Copa Da MalĂĄsia strictly adheres to the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) rules for combat, bracket determination, weight classes, and attire allowances.
CATEGORY (SPECIAL INTRODUCTION)
3 & 4 Years Old (Tiny Champions Category)
This category is designed to provide a fun, safe, and positive first competition experience.
Competition Rules for 3 & 4 Years Old:
- Friendly match format on the mats
- No winners or losers (non-competitive format)
- All participants will be recognized as winners
- Medals will be given on the mats immediately after their match
- Matches will be supervised closely by referees and coaches
- Focus on participation, confidence, and enjoyment
WEIGH-IN
All competitors must weigh in wearing full competition attire.
5th September 2026 Weigh-In Schedule:
- 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Primary weigh-in (recommended for competitors unsure of their weight)
- 10:45 AM - 11:00 AM: Finalization of brackets and adjustments
- 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Competitions begin (competitors confident in their weight may weigh in just before their match)
Weight Allowance: A 300g allowance is provided for all competitors.

- Existing Users: Log in to your account and sign up.
- New Users: Register for the event, and an account will be created automatically.
- Update your weight class as needed.

When is the last day to change weight classes?
- The deadline to change weight classes is 3 days before the event.
When will brackets and match times be released?
- Bracket times will be published on Friday evening before the event. Competitors will receive a text message if their contact number is provided.
Do I weigh in with my Gi?
- Yes, competitors in the Gi division must weigh in wearing their Gi.
Can a coach or cornerman accompany competitors?
- Kids Divisions: One coach or cornerman is allowed per child competitor.
Are spectators allowed?
- Yes, spectators are welcome at the competition venue.

When and where is the event?

Is there a category for 3 and 4 year olds?
Yes. The 3 & 4 Years Old Tiny Champions Category uses a friendly, non-competitive match format with no winners or losers, and medals are given on the mats immediately after the match.
What is the weigh-in schedule?
On 5th September 2026, primary weigh-in is 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM, followed by bracket finalization and adjustments from 10:45 AM - 11:00 AM. Competitions run from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and competitors confident in their weight may weigh in just before their match.
What must competitors wear for weigh-in, and is there a weight allowance?
All competitors must weigh in wearing full competition attire. Gi division competitors must weigh in wearing their Gi, and a 300g allowance is provided for all competitors.
How much does registration cost?
Early Bird registration is RM 200, Standard Registration is RM 250, and Late Registration is RM 300. The listed prices are the same for Gi or No-Gi and for Gi and No-Gi.
