🔎 About the Event

Registrations will be public so that competitors can select or move themselves into the most suitable bracket. This system helps ensure fair and balanced matchups while keeping the process transparent for everyone.

Competitors are responsible for reviewing their own brackets and making any necessary adjustments before registration closes. If you believe a bracket needs review, you may contact us, but final responsibility for correct placement remains with each competitor or their coach.

How to move to another bracket in Smoothcomp:

1. Log in to your Smoothcomp account.
2. Go to My Account → Registrations.
3. Find this event and select Edit.
4. Choose a different bracket that best suits your age, weight, and experience.
5. Save your changes before the registration deadline.

Once registration closes, brackets will be locked and no further changes can be made.

Competitors will be able to view their matchups the evening before the event. You will need to check your matches and contact us immediately if any changes are required. No changes will be made during the event. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to provide the best possible experience.

🎯 Event Purpose

This is a development event designed to help athletes:

• Gain competition experience in a friendly environment
• Meet like-minded martial artists
• Build confidence and apply skills safely

🕒 Event Schedule

• 8:00 AM – Doors open (coffee and breakfast available)
• 8:30 AM – Weigh-ins (strict 500 g allowance)
• 9:00 AM – Matches begin
• 5:00 PM – Event concludes

⚠️ IMPORTANT: All competitors must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled match time. You can check your exact match time on Smoothcomp once the brackets are released.

🗓 Registration and Brackets Timeline

• Registrations close: Friday at 11:59 PM – No late entries accepted
• Brackets released: Saturday evening before the event
• Adjustment window: Thursday to Saturday only (athletes and coaches may request bracket changes)
• Finalized brackets: No changes will be made on the event day

💳 Payment Policy All registrations must be paid immediately to confirm your spot. Unpaid entries will not be included in the brackets. Prompt payment allows us to finalise matchups faster and run a smooth event.

• General Admission: $30 per person

🛡 Rules and Equipment (Compulsory)

• Mouthguard
• Headguard (not required for MMA)
• Shin guards (leather recommended for kickboxing or MMA)
• Groin protector
• Sparring gloves MMA 8oz Boxing and Kickboxing 16oz

📋 Match Format

• Scoring: 10-point must system (3 judges)
• Kids (under 18): 2 rounds of 2 minutes
• Adults: 3 rounds of 2 minutes
• Contact Level: Touch contact only – no knockouts. Focus is on safety and development.

✅ Legal Techniques

• MMA: Striking and submissions that comply with the prohibited technique list below
• Kickboxing: Striking only; no grappling
• Boxing: Punches only; no kicks or grappling

❌ Illegal Techniques

The following actions are prohibited for all competitors unless specifically permitted under a division rule. Any competitor who performs a prohibited action may be disqualified at the referee or judge’s discretion.

Prohibited actions include but are not limited to:

• Eye gouging or manipulation of the eyes
• Biting, spitting, hair pulling, or unsportsmanlike conduct
• Strikes to the back of the head, spine, or throat
• Groin strikes of any kind
• Small joint manipulation (twisting or bending fingers or toes)
• Head butts or intentional head collisions
• Throwing an opponent on their head or neck, or any technique that risks spinal injury
• Neck cranks or pressure on the cervical spine that is not a standard submission hold
• Heel hooks and reaping with rotational leg locks
• Knee strikes to the head of a grounded opponent
• Strikes to the kidneys from the rear
• Chokes or submissions that deliberately target the airway in a dangerous way
• Use of hard or illegal equipment, sharp objects, or altered striking surfaces
• Intentional slams to cause injury beyond normal match risk
• Any technique specifically restricted by division or age

Age and Division Notes:

• Kids divisions follow stricter safety rules enforced by referees
• Any technique not explicitly allowed should be treated as prohibited until clarified by an official

👉 The referee is the final authority on whether a technique is legal or illegal. Competitors and coaches must accept the referee’s decision.

🤼 Classification of a Grounded Fighter

A fighter is considered grounded when:

• Any part of the body other than the soles of the feet touches the mat
• Kneeling on one or both knees
• On all fours (hands and knees)
• On the back or belly (regardless of feet position)

👉 The referee is always the final authority on grounded status.

• Submission (tap, verbal, or physical)
• Judges’ decision (10-point scoring: 10-10, 10-9, 10-8)

This is a friendly interclub event — the goal is development, not records.
