Description

Tournament Format:

The format of the tournament is Round Robin for any category/pool with up to 4 competitors or double elimination (i.e. Each competitor must lose two matches to be out) for categories/pools with 5 or more . There will be Gold, Silver and 2 Bronze for each division. We will run the categories in order of age. Approximate times for fight will be displayed in real time on the smoothcomp.com system.

In the case where a division has only one athlete has registered, a refund will be provided, no automatic gold medals will be awarded as all athletes must have competed in at least one fight in order to receive a medal. 


Weigh-ins:

Weights will be checked on the day from -8.30am  -9.30

 First fight will begin at 9.30 am sharp.

 If a fighter misses weight, they are automatically DQ'd. There is no second attempt at making weight.

  1. All athletes must weigh in on the official competition scale in shorts and t-shirt/rash guard, Youth contestants are not permitted to strip above or below the waist to underwear or bare torso. To facilitate this all contestants at all official weigh ins shall be granted an additional 1lb [454gr] allowance over and above their designated weight category
  2. All youth athletes are not permitted to change their clothes before or after the weigh-ins in the weigh-in area. If they want to change their clothes, they are only permitted to do so in the changing rooms or toilets.


Round Duration:

Youth E (2016-2017) there is one round of 2minutes 

Youth D (2014-2015)there is one round of 2 minutes

Youth C (2012-2013) there is one round of 3 minutes

Youth B (2010-2011), there is one round of 4 minutes

Youth A (2008-2009) there are 3 rounds of 2 minutes

Decisions:

All decisions will be made by the referee, with the assistance of a second official outside the safety area, if necessary.


Equipment: Athletes must supply their own Kit 

6oz/8oz sparring MMA gloves (pro gloves not allowed)

Shin pads (with no metal clasps)

Gum shields and groin guards

Rashguard or fitted t-shirt must be worn.
