Registrations
- ** DO NOT CUT WEIGHT! ** We will take whatever weight you are on Tournament Day at weigh-ins and use that number to put you in a division with similarly weighted and skilled competitors - some may be heavier, some may be lighter. We do not use specific weight ranges to determine divisions. (This is called MADISON BRACKETING: Competitors are grouped based on their weight after weigh-ins, rather than using pre-set weight classes.)
- YOUTH (ages 5-15) - $40 entry thru Sept 24th, $60 after that
- ADULTS (ages 16+) - $50 entry thru Sept 24th, $70 after that
- Maximum 6 competitors closest in Weight and Experience* make up a division (*since Belt Color may not be best indicator of Skill Level for some competitors)
- "Day-Of" Registrations will be accepted through SmoothComp on Tournament Day. Registration cut-off is 11:45am for Youth and 12:45pm for Adults
- No Refunds will be issued. If you are not weighed in by the deadline (11:45am for Youth, 12:45pm for Adults), we'll assume you are not competing.

TOURNAMENT DAY
Youth Divisions (ages 5-15)
- Round-Robin divisions will be created after weigh-ins based on weight and experience level of competitors, See below for Scoring details
- WEIGH-INS: 11am - 11:45am
- MATCHES: Start at 12pm Noon
- ROUNDS:
5-6 yr olds = 1 x 2-minute round, No Submissions, Points will be awarded for Position Changes, No Slamming allowed
7-15 yr olds = 1 x 3-minute round, Submission Only, No Slamming or Heel Hooks allowed, All other Submissions are allowed
Adult Divisions (ages 16+)
- Round-Robin divisions will be created after weigh-ins based on weight and experience level of competitors
- WEIGH-INS: 11am - 12:45pm
- MATCHES: Start at 1pm
- ROUNDS: 1 x 5-Minute Round
Rules
- YOUTH = No Slamming or Heel Hooks allowed. All other Submissions are allowed
- ADULT NOVICE Divisions = No Slamming or Heel Hooks allowed. All other Submissions are allowed
- ADULT ADVANCED Divisions = No Slamming. Heel Hooks ARE allowed, along with all other Submissions
Scoring
- Submission Win = 3 points
- Draw = 1 point each
- Loss = 0 points
- Competitor with the most points at the end of round-robin wins the division
- EBI Overtime Rules for any ties of medaling spots after match results have been tallied

How much does registration cost?

How are divisions created?
Round-robin divisions are created after weigh-ins based on competitors’ weight and experience level. Divisions have a maximum of 6 competitors closest in weight and experience.
How does tournament-day weight affect divisions?
Competitors should not cut weight. The tournament will use whatever weight competitors are at weigh-ins and group them with similarly weighted and skilled competitors using Madison bracketing, rather than pre-set weight classes.
What are the round lengths and rules for Youth divisions?
Ages 5-6 have 1 x 2-minute round, no submissions, points awarded for position changes, and no slamming. Ages 7-15 have 1 x 3-minute round, submission only, with no slamming or heel hooks; all other submissions are allowed.
What are the Adult rules and scoring format?
Adult matches are 1 x 5-minute round. Adult Novice divisions allow all submissions except slamming and heel hooks; Adult Advanced divisions do not allow slamming, but heel hooks and all other submissions are allowed. Submission wins are 3 points, draws are 1 point each, losses are 0 points, and EBI Overtime Rules apply for ties in medaling spots.
