This is a brand new Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition with a new format where everyone has at least 2 fights!

COMPETITION FORMAT
* IBJJF ruleset
* â Double Elimination format
* â Minimum 2 matches guaranteed (where divisions have at least 3 competitors)
OFFICIATING
* All referees are Black Belts
* â Certified and experienced officials
BLACK BELT ENTRY
* Black Belts compete for FREE
* â Black Belt â free entry at the event with proof (IBJJF Membership card or Smoothcomp profile)
NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED
* There are NO membership fees required for competitors
* â Academy membership is FREE
* â No athlete or gym annual fees.
ABJJA cannot guarantee the athletes will show up for the tournament. Therefore, ABJJA will not refund athletes who end up without a match due to a non-show for his / her opponent.
If you are alone in the bracket and we could not find a match, you will be given the option to either be declared the winner of the division and receive the medal at the podium or be offered a refund by the organizers.

Spectator entry is $15 per person. Each child competitor under 15 years old may bring one accompanying guardian free of charge.
What is the last day to check, change, or withdraw?
The last day to check, change, and withdraw is 22 October, the day after registration closes. This is also the refund deadline.
When will draws and the schedule be released?
Draws and the schedule will be released by 10:00pm on the Thursday before the competition.
What competition format and ruleset will be used?
The event uses the IBJJF ruleset and a Double Elimination format. A minimum of 2 matches is guaranteed where divisions have at least 3 competitors.
Are memberships required to compete?
No membership fees are required for competitors. Academy membership is FREE, and there are no athlete or gym annual fees.
What happens if an athlete is alone in a bracket or an opponent does not show?
ABJJA will not refund athletes who end up without a match due to an opponent no-show. If you are alone in the bracket and no match can be found, you may either be declared the division winner and receive the medal at the podium or be offered a refund by the organizers.
