There are people and businesses that you can depend on and grow to rely on, and Authentic Martial Arts tops that list for my family. Our daughter is in their before/aftercare program and their summer camp. They do everything they can think of to be more than just an aftercare program. The kids have the perfect balance of physical activity (martial arts & other sports), homework (written homework & a monitored computer lab for online homework), and fun (free time & Friday clubs) during their time there. They also work on respect and different character traits each week and have field trips every day in the summer!
I seriously never understood the "it takes a village" saying until we joined AMA's village. They opened up after the hurricane so parents could get back to work (schools were still closed), and they did it free of charge because they just wanted to help and bring back normalcy for the kids. Ric Martin is a fantastic man, and we appreciate his entire staff. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for a program that you can be completely comfortable with and your kids will be excited about.
My son went to AMA last summer and my daughter was old enough to go with him this summer. I'm very picky about who I have watch my children and I drop them off every morning knowing they are in excellent hands! They have a structured schedule, fun atmosphere and diverse schedule so my kiddos are never bored! I highly recommended this facility and will continue to send my kids every summer!
We have used AMA for two (2) years now. The team there is amazing. The facility is clean and well kept. The kids are always safe and well cared for. I only know some of the folks there...but Carmen, Emily, Sean, Barbara and Carlos all are incredible and do an awesome job of teaching the kids everything from martial arts to taking responsibility for their actions. Good Job guys!
This is my child's first summer with AMA. It has been an amazing experience. Aside from karate, my child is learning leadership skills and respect, and is having a blast with all the extracurricular field trips. Can't wait to see how the after school program goes.
Great dojo. My son has the best time during the summer and after school. The kids get to go to more places and learn more about local activities. The karate instructor work well with the students of all different ages.
My three children have attended the Largo location of Authentic Martial Arts for the past three years. I cannot say enough great things about the care and concern my children receive there. The staff maintain constant communication with me and make me aware of any concerns or issues immediately. The owner, Ric Martin, personally addresses any concerns I have had and remedies them to my satisfaction each and every time. My children feel like they are at home in this dojo and love the after school program, karate classes and summer camp that they are involved in.
Great program for my children, they have learned discipline, respect, responsibility and self defense, they are always willing to work with the children and include fun activities daily. Great after care!!
Thank you to Kaicho Ric Martin and his team of instructors. This is a great experience for the entire family. They offer the best in traditional martial arts. I would encourage this experience to not just be for your children, but your entire family as we did.
I visited Authentic Martial Arts at their Seminole location and really enjoyed my experience. The instructors (Erica, Terry, and Sean) are very professional and welcoming. Their martial arts program is exactly as the name of the school implies: authentic. If you are looking for a traditional martial arts school in the Seminole/Largo area I strongly recommend you check this school out.
I'm sure it's a great place to train but beware if you're child goes for one day and doesn't like it and doesn't want to go anymore they charge you for 2 weeks which is almost $400 which I think is absolutely bad business especially with these hard times. I can see paying for the day or maybe 2 days but 2 weeks is horrible, that's what they did to me. I probably should have paid for only a week to see how things went.. BE Careful what you sign up for.....
This place is supposed to teach honesty, integrity, standing up for what is right but, when you sign up your child for the classes they do not explain their terms and conditions properly. We had signed up originally paying for 6 months in advance and they signed us up for auto pay that we were not aware of. After the 6 months were up, the teachers had asked if we were going to be coming back and we explained to them that we would not be sending our son back to class for a little while because we what just had a baby and would not have time to bring our oldest for a while. Because we were not aware of the auto draft coming out of our credit card. We were charged an additional $600 over the course of 6 months for services we did not receive and they are REFUSING to give back any more then one month. This is definitely an example of the opertunity to choose the right thing to do and they definitely are not taking it.
