I recently visited BTT Jupiter for a Saturday open mat, at the invitation of a buddy. The school and facilities are immaculate, the group of athletes were all welcoming and polite. The head coach, and gym owner, took the time to welcome a group of friends and I each individually! Great location, great facilities, great students, great coach, great school. I’ll definitely be back.

Beyond impressed with this facility! Great coach to student ratios, incredibly clean and professionally run. This was recommended for our 6 year old son, and it's the first activity he can't wait to attend...the instructors are incredibly skilled at ensuring both fun and discipline, a perfect combo for our son. Can't recommend more.

There are so many good things to say about this place. First of all, the training is top notch. everyone at the gym is welcoming, friendly, and ready to train hard. second of all, the facilities are immaculate. it's very clear that the owners take pride in having a clean gym with all the comforts needed so that everyone can focus on training safely. third of all, it's in a beautiful location in a good side of town. OSS!

Disclaimer I was not lucky enough to attend the actual gym itself, however I was lucky enough to attend GST Level 1 Instructor course taught by Professor Guy Scuderi. I am a purple belt in BJJ and before professor Scuderi spoke I knew just from his mannerisms that I was about to learn a lot of amazing BJJ and self defense techniques. Professor Scuderi is very knowledgeable and was indeed a wealth of knowledge. Professor Scuderi was approachable and eager to help and encourage my classmates and I. If you are lucky enough to live in the Jupiter FL area take advantage of the opportunity to learn from Professor Scuderi you won’t regret it.

BTT/Jupiter Self Defense is the best academy in Palm Beach County for BJJ and Self Defense. Professor Gabriel is a world class instructor and a world class competitor. Professor Guy is equally world class in his degree of knowledge, instruction and decades of study. The academy has many high level competitors and classes all throughout the day from 7 AM to 8:30 PM. Large number of black and brown belts. Great place for kids to learn the sport and for women to learn self defense as well. No egos and great people to train with. The cleanest academy you'll ever go to. BTT/Jupiter Self Defense has it all. A ++ Highly recommend.

I have been with Professor Gabriel for almost 3 years now, started with no experience in martial arts or any sports for that matter, immediately felt right at home, great training partners, and professional instructionals. Very friendly environment with a sense of community, I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to not only learn, and grow in Jiu Jitsu, but wants to be part a team, and have a community to back them in all walks of life.

I’ve trained some kind of martial arts since 1983. The many black belt instructors and training partners are second to none in South Florida. All staff and respectful and excellent training partners for my children, my fiancé and myself. Highly recommended. No egos just doing the right thing for everyone in the school. Please come in and try it. I promise you won’t regret it. Not to mention the bathrooms have CLEAN showers, you can schedule private self defense sessions. Truly happy to be here. This place is unparalleled in my 40 years of training

Dr. Guy and the staff at Jupiter Self Defense are truly outstanding Jiu Jitsu Instructors. They take their time and work with each and every student in a non-threatening and testosterone free environment. The primary focus is on Heilo Gracie Self Defense Techniques as opposed to sport Jiu Jitsu. Therefore, students learn real world skills that help them deal with all aspect of life including the unexpected. I highly recommend Jupiter Self Defense to anyone looking to learn new skills in a warm, welcoming, safe and caring environment. My entire family trains there including my wife and two young children. We all love it and look forward to each lesson!!!!

I have been attending women's classes for about 5 years and the family, Dr. Guy & Nohra, and all people that are part of the team are amazing. They truly put in lots of energy and passion into helping other people with the knowledge to protect oneself. It gives confidence to women in this unpredictable world. I enjoy it immensely and it is pleasure to be around such wonderful people.

Jupiter Self Defense is truly exceptional. Dr. Guy and his staff provide essential self defense strategies that have increased confidence in my children, spouse and me. The instructors incorporate physics into their lessons which helps students better understand the importance of a move and how to accurately apply the technique. Our two kids have been taking classes for over a year. I attend the women’s self defense class and we bring it all together with the family class on Saturday mornings. We are grateful to the staff and students at Jupiter Self Defense. It is a family we are proud to be a part of.

If you are reading these reviews you have a definite interest in pursuing self defense for yourself or a loved one or hopefully both. In my 31 years of training I have yet to encounter an instructor and a family that is more passionate and selfless about enriching the lives of others than the Scuderi family. Dr. Guy Scuderi is not only one of the highest ranking Valente Brothers Black Belts in the country, a school that teaches the classic Helio Gracie Self Defense Jiu Jitsu curriculum, but an expert surgeon and medical professional, no to mention other interests all catered to the advancement of others. The school’s website can give you all of the information you need. But the information that I can give you is very valuable in other ways. Myself and 3 of my 4 children have been a part of the Jupiter Self Defense family for 6 years. My 3 yr old daughter will start the Little Champs program next year. My 5 & 4 year old are currently in that amazing program. My 11 yr old daughter has been training for 6 years now and my comfort level with her current abilities, confidence and situational awareness exists because of Dr. Scuderi and his family. Dr. Scuderi’s wonderful wife and both of their very talented daughters have played a monumental role in my daughter’s development on and off the mats. What is that worth to you? How could I deprive my children of character development in a safe environment with a family who continues to invest their heart and soul into our family and every single member of the Jupiter Self Defense family. Please take the time to visit the school, meet its members and make the difference in your life and the lives of your loved ones. The Scuderi family is doing that daily and has been longer than they would ever let on.

I moved 2000 miles away from St. John US Virgin Islands to Jupiter Florida just to train at Jupiter self defense under Professor Dr. Gaetano Scuderi. The people here are so welcoming and friendly you'll fit right in! The Jiu jitsu taught here is the REAL Hélio Gracie Jiu-jitsu. This is the nicest (and newest) Jiu-jitsu academy in the country hands down. I feel safe, welcome, and I am learning things that are truly important about self defense. Truly the best thing about the school is the mindset and philosophy taught here. Jiu jitsu is way a life for me, I've been practicing the art since I was three and grew up with a signed poster of Hélio Gracie in my living room. Jupiter self defense feels like a home away from home to me. Come check out one of our 27 fundamental lessons taught on Monday or Wednesday at 6:30pm! Jupiter self defense also offers Advanced, Women's, Kids, and Striking classes! See you there!

If you ever thought of trying Jiu-Jitsu or if you want to take your practical understanding of self-defense to greater levels you owe it to yourself to visit Jupiter Self Defense. Dr. Guy and his family have created a very welcoming and supportive culture where you will learn classic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and at the same time become a much better version of yourself. If you want to up-level your game on all fronts take up Jui-Jitsu and give Jupiter Self Defense a try. 👍

Do you want to get fit? Do you want to learn how to defend yourself and your family? Are you a little nervous about training in a combat sport? I had the same desires and concerns, and the best thing I did was go to Jupiter Self Defense. A good friend who is a former special warfare operator told me to forget everywhere else and just go see Dr. Guy. The instructors are excellent and they take great care to make sure that everyone is safe. Jiu Jitsu is challenging, but the instructors and senior students make absolutely certain that you learn at your own pace. Starting Jiu Jitsu can be intimidating. I was uneasy when I started. But learning Jiu Jitsu from Dr. Guy and the other instructors there was a great decision, and I encourage you to give it a try.

My two young daughters have been students of J.U.M.P./Scuderi Self Defense (now known as Jupiter Self Defense) in Jupiter, FL since its initial school opened in early 2013. They always look forward to their pure-Gracie jiu jitsu classes and have gained the strength and skills needed to move forward as confident young women in today's crazy world. The Jupiter Self Defense atmosphere provides for comfort and safety while learning self-defense techniques. I would highly recommend Jupiter Self Defense to anyone, young, old, beginners or highly-trained. Their studio and mats are always clean and they even offer YOGA on certain days of the week, and of course, Dr. Guy and his staff are wonderful!

In total transparency, I’m one of the co-instructors here at Jupiter self defense. I am not reviewing the school, which I am a part of and would come across as biased. I’m reviewing the man, my teacher and my friend, Dr. Guy Scuderi. Guy teaches Jūjitsu because he loves jūjitsu. Not only does he love it, he believes in it, and that’s so important. He’s not selling you anything, he’s sharing his faith in something he knows will save you or your child’s life. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone ask him a question about a technique and his response be “that’s not gonna work, if my daughter can’t do it, you could do it because you’re big and strong, but that’s not jiujitsu!” “Jiujitsu is made for the little “guy”, or girl...or child.”, he says. That’s what he says, and in doing so he is keeping his teachings honest to the mission statement of Jūjitsu, to help weaker people defend themselves against larger stronger people. That’s who guy is. Someone who puts other people’s challenges into his supercomputer of a mind and comes up with a real working solution, not with the intention to sell you a product, but to help you grow and better yourself in a dangerous world. And if it doesn’t work for his kid, he doesn’t teach it to yours. With that guiding directive, they made this gorgeous facility for all of us to share. I hope you try it, and I hope to see you on the mat! -Mike

Been training jiu jitsu in the area for 15 years. Dr. Guy is hands down the most technical teacher for self defense jiu jitsu within 50 miles. I switched to his tutelage as a brown belt and my skills have soared. I know most of the teachers in the area. They are all fantastic for sport based jiu jitsu. But if you want to become harder to kill, and learn the necessary skills to survive a street fight where there are no rules, no time limits, and no referees to stop the fight... then there is no better place in the area to train.

The gym is very clean and state of the art. I was impressed by the technical focus the instructor emphasises at this location. If i lived within 30 miles of this academy, this would be my first choice. Had the pleasure and honor of attending a seminar here. The integrity, discipline, and technique is remarkable. I'm forever a Jiu Jitsu student, whether, sports or self defense. If you want some traditional, effective, and right down to the roots Gracie style BJJ, along with some great striking, this is the place to be. Jupiter Self Defense is a friendly non-competitive school where everyone is there to learn and grow. Guy Scuderi is the most passionate self defense Jiu-Jitsu instructor I have ever met. He is truly dedicated to teaching every one of his students the most effective way to defend themselves against an attacker. Each and every lesson is about using Jiu-Jitsu the way it was meant to be used. There are many many places in Jupiter where you can learn Jiu-Jitsu if you want to win a medal but Jupiter Self Defense is the only place you can truly learn Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense.

My son (10) and I have family near here and decided to join for a week on a trip to florida. We don't live here but love self defense jiu jitsu and I found this on google searching around. I messaged the sensei on his website and he very quickly called me back. He explained about his school. I went in to check out the classes. Everyone was very welcoming and nice to me. Dr Guy (the head Sensei) was very clear with us before drilling and sparring to go easy on each other so no one would get hurt. My son went to the kids class the same night. He loved it so much. I was very impressed with the kids class even more than the adults class. Dr. Guy has his daughters and wife helping him at the dojo. It is very family oriented, and his wife signed me up for one week. I would have done more but we are only here one week more. This is the self defense style jiu jitsu, very old school Helio Gracie Style with weapons defense too. Very pleased to find this gem in Florida. One more thing. It isn't really a tournament school and the techniques are not described with this gets so many points, and this gets this many points. But if you are looking for more self defense, this is the place for you.

I've attended many different martial arts schools in the past and none of them can hold a candle to JUMP Self Defense Jiu Jitsu. Finally I have found a school that teaches REAL self defense jiu jitsu that can be used in the REAL world. Not the kind of jiu jitsu that can only be used in a controlled and judged tournament, which is what most other schools teach. Additionally, JUMP self defense jiu jitsu is taught by a Black Belt Instructor, which is important to me. Not to mention, it is the cleanest martial arts school I have ever seen. The staff is very professional and always pleasant and they make you feel like you're part of the family. If you are looking for a Self Defense school, look no further; JUMP is the BEST.

It means this is the one place to truly learn to defend yourself from ANY ATTACKER, not in the ring but in REAL LIFE!
