One of the best gyms in the world. Excellent coaching staff and practitioners. Put your ego aside when you step on these mats. Your about to learn something

Dropped in for a class since I have some time off work and my regular gym is close this week for Christmas and new years. Great group of people, very tough and skillful. All were a pleasure to roll with. Very solid, easy to comprehend coaching and a clear structure. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed it for sure. Would like to come back again sometime

I'm a blue belt that stayed up here for work so I trained here during that time. I attend only 3 classes. The people were friendly and respectful and so the professor (Brandon - assuming he's a black belt, I never asked). There's not formal warm up. One of the classes I attended had a slight warm up but that was it. The whole hour class is just that - a class with open mat to follow. I attended classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm not sure what they do on the other days. I enjoyed my time here and would recommend them to others in the area. They love their leg entanglements so watch out.

Been going since Aug 2022. Dropped 3 inches off my waist and overall a lot healthier. Couldn't ask for a better group of people across the owners, staff and students.

I took a vacation from work and drove 650 miles to come visit 10th Planet Decatur for a few days. Worth it! What a great gym. I made it to five classes during my stay. All the teaching (from the head honcho Brandon and also from the assistant coaches) was clear and sharp and useful. I appreciated the fact that there was a continuing theme from day to day. Everybody was really friendly and brought me right into the fold. Even more than that, I got the sense that they were really decent, high-quality people overall, not just as far as jiu jitsu. I don't know when I'll be back, because, hey, it ain't easy to just hop in the car and drive across the country, but I'm sure glad I went.

The coaches and students made me feel right at home even though I was just dropping in. Brandon is a phenomenal instructor and even took time to work with me, a visiting student, on something I had been working on. If you live around the Decatur, AL area; this is the spot to train!

Coming from a renowned gym in Atlanta, I can confidently say that 10th planet Decatur would be one of the top gyms in Atlanta as well as most other large cities in the US. It exceeds anything you would expect from a small town like Decatur. Brandon is an excellent instructor, but beyond that he is an excellent person. I think the secret is his kindness and positivity that motivates everyone there to be such a strong team.

I've known Brandon for a little over 10yrs. Whether in person or online, Brandon is always smiling and trying to make someone else smile. He's absolutely loves the art of jiujitsu and to spread the art of it. His attention to detail is beautiful to watch. If I lived closer, I would 110% sign up at his gym.

Brandon McCaghren and his wife Lindsey have built an amazing culture of technique here. They are a family who all train, and therefore have built a school that is exceptionally family friendly. There are places for kids to hang out while parents train and places for parents to hang out while kids train. What makes the place particularly special is the students. It's an amazing group of people from all walks of life that are there to learn. They all enjoy helping each other learn. It doesn't matter if you're old and way out of shape (like me) just looking to be a bit healthier, or young and hungry for battle. It doesn't matter if you're male or female. The people here are invested in helping you reach your goals. If you are highly experienced and looking to train where you'll be challenged, you'll find high level purple, brown, and black belts. Brandon has been the corner for a number of well known UFC fighters and is in high demand to give seminars all over the world. His understanding of jiu-jitsu is top level and his ability to break it down and simplify it is astounding. To say that we are lucky to have this kind of an academy here is an understatement. Some students actually travel over 90 minutes one direction several times a week just to train here. Just the nicest, coolest, people all working together to learn jiu-jitsu. You won't be disappointed to swing by and check it out.

Head coach Brandon McCaghren has to be one of the honest and genuine people in the Jiu Jitsu game. If you haven't taken one of his classes... you should!

I’ve had the pleasure of training at 10th Planet Decatur and wish I could make this my full time gym. Brandon and Matt are two of the best Black Belts around. Decatur is a hidden gem.

I have known Brandon since the beginning of my jiu jitsu journey. I first saw an Eddie Bravo seminar at his school. He's an excellent instructor, a great person, and he knows all the little details you didn't know were there. If you're having trouble deciding where to go..go try a class at this gym. The facility is as amazing as the staff! You will love it.

I took a class here, and it is a 100% MC Dojo, they are all about taking your money and not teaching you how to defend yourself. I’m not sure how they got around my original review. But here is another, under a different handle. Bullshido is what they teach here, and I accept any challenge under agreed terms that they can offer. My original review. McDojo, this place is about taking your money. That is what a McDojo is, they aren’t worried about teaching you skills to defend yourself. I just done the review out of honesty, to warn people of this place.
