Dropped-in with my partner (both F Blue belt) and three teenage relatives (first timers). Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. All enjoyed it very much.
The training session is well set up and clearly instructed. The rolls are good. We ended up going back a few more times before we had to leave. Will come back when in the area again.
We have loved our time at Argyle Jiujitsu Academy. My 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son started here a few months after my husband began attending classes. It was all of their first time trying BJJ. We love the family environment and the personal support Professor Paul and the other teachers give the kids. It was a great experience for our family!
This is an outstanding option for kids to learn jiu jitsu skills in a welcoming, gracious, and fun environment. You will be glad you tried Argyle Jiujitsu and will enjoy seeing your kids rolling around the mat learning and having fun.
We came from a gym in grapevine. The atmosphere, there was pretty competitive for a little kids.
When we got to Argyle JiuJitsu Academy, Paul, the owner, was very inviting. He gave us a week trial for both of our kids, and we loved the way he was with the kids. He’s very good with children. Having been at this gym now for two years, we feel like this gym is one huge family.
Highly Recommended! My son has been going 2-3 times per week for almost a year and he still absolutely loves it. All the coaches are wonderful. Professor Paul has the perfect disposition to teach kids. My son is more on the timid side and Professor is the perfect mix of fun and authoritative that makes my son comfortable and eager to learn. I'm so glad we found this place!
Our 4 year old LOVES jiu jitsu. Some days he’s just getting his wiggles out. But some days he really takes to the instruction. Professor Paul is phenomenal with kids. I couldn’t express how glad we are that we’re apart of this academy. Plenty of 1 on 1 even with many children in each class. The kids learn technique, discipline, and work on something new every day.
Argyle JJ academy is an amazing training facility.
What started as a place for my son to learn and train also became a journey for dad too.
Excellent place to train and or sharpen skills.
Was told persistently many years ago to get into jiu jitsu. I always found an excuse to avoid. Finally sucked it up and started training with my family in 2019. I'm now in my mid-forties and wish I had joined earlier. I've been to few gyms over the years but never known what its like to be a gym hopper. I do know what it's like to be a part of a family though and that's what you get at Argyle Jiu Jitsu. We just are more equiped to handle ourselves at a reunion when someone starts slinging the bean dip. 😁 Professor Paul Gilman is the difference. Doesn't matter your age, your gender, or your experience. You will get solid teaching, attention, and build friendships all while making yourself tougher and capable of defending yourself or loved ones. Don't wait like I did. Come check out Argyle Jiu Jitsu and join our growing family of skilled grapplers.
Starting jiu jitsu can be intimidating. As a newbie, I have always felt welcomed. Teaching is great. The culture and the environment is great. I always feel there is someone looking out for you and guiding you along the way.
Welcoming environment, for all skill levels. Coaches who are involved and genuinely care about their students. I’ve been training BJJ for several years at different academies across the country and Argyle BJJ is the best experience I’ve had yet, and it will be tough to top. 🤙
Amazing atmosphere for my whole family to learn and train. Very family oriented and no egos within those doors. Professor Paul does an amazing job teaching my kids and is great with the kids helping them learn. Everyone there is very welcoming and always willing to help you learn and better yourself anyway they can.
This is a great academy! It's a family friendly & welcoming environment. You'll learn a discipline that is challenging, fun, and will prepare you for many of life's goals. I attend the adult class, and the cohesive team esprit de corps that I was missing when I left the military, I found here.
Bottom line: highest endorsement. The atmosphere is welcoming and patient without compromising the legitimacy or quality of jiu-jitsu instruction. All skill levels will find the challenge they are looking for. Best and cleanest mats in the DFW area.
People go to train for the skills they will attain, but they stay for the culture. This place has it all: great people, great culture, and they’ve developed me into a better human being. If you are thinking about training, do yourself a favor and don’t tell anyone. Just do it. You won’t regret it here.
Been training at Argyle Jiu Jitsu for a year and a half now after moving from another gym in Arizona. Professor Paul has created a great community where everyone is family. Great training environment and all people that attend have great attitudes. Whether it’s your first lesson or if you’ve been training for years, you’ll love it here.
Great class options for kids and adults. My kids love it and it has become our family hobby. Argyle Jiu Jitsu has a very welcoming environment with instructors that go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable, no matter how new you are to BJJ. Very clean gym and has a very friendly culture among the students.
I had always wanted to train Jiu Jitsu and this was the school I first stepped foot into. And am I glad I did. Professor Paul has grown his business since day one, better yet, the community he has built is amazing. The knowledge, hours, special guests, and everything else in between makes this school so great. If you’re looking for a kids program, look no further, this is your place! Come to train, leave with new friends, new skills, and feel great doing it all. 🤙🏽
Best place to take your children and your whole family, everyone treats you like family here , they are really passionate about teaching the children, my sons love it here 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Such a family place!!!
They really do connect with you and your littles. This is one place I absolutely love to drop into because the vibes are off the charts. Professor Paul does a really great job breaking down movements for all body types.
Came by for an open mat! Super clean facility and was immediately welcomed by everyone. Everyone was friendly and I felt very comfortable the whole time. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area!
My son just started here and is super shy. The instructors have been amazing about getting him involved. They truly go out of their way to make the kids feel comfortable.
Practitioner of jiu jitsu for more than 10 years. I’ve visited a lot of gyms. Argyle jiu Jitsu is a great school. Great coach and team environment for both kids and adults. If your looking for a good school look no further.
Paul breaks things down in a way that nobody has for me before; implementing a philosophical approach to jiu jitsu that creates an understanding to the intricacies of the art, instead of the usual approach that turns so many new comers away from this great sport!
My son has been taking class here for a few months now and we can’t speak highly enough of Argyle Jiujitsu Academy! Professor Paul pours skill, respect, grit, and love into these kids and it shows on the mat and at home. If you’re looking for a martial arts home, this is your place!
If you live in Harvest or Lantana this place is super convenient. There is nothing like being able to drive 5 mins to class. He also has classes literally every day. So you really get value out of your membership by having so many day/time options to go to class. Price is way more reasonable than the other schools in the area as well. No annual commitment contract too, which is great if you have indecisive kids.
