My kids have been training for a few years. We liked the school so much my wife and I started training just over a year ago too. Professor Pardee is great at teaching the kids dedication to a team, personal discipline, and the rewards of hard work while keeping it fun. With the adults, he keeps things easy to understand, challenges you to be better, try harder, and keep training. Across the board, he is so excited and happy that his students walk through the door and he gets to teach Jiu Jitsu. This is one of the best decisions we made as a family! The atmosphere, community, and friendships we’ve made are just awesome.

Great academy. I highly recommend it. I was in town and wanted to train so I emailed Professor Andrew and he invited me to come by for class. The class was awesome. Andrew was very welcoming and his instruction was super helpful. Also, the facilities were top notch. Glad to have a new training spot when I’m in the area. Thanks again Professor Andrew.

Amazing academy. Visited while traveling through town and was impressed with the cleanliness and class. The Professor Andrew really knows how to make maximum use of your time. The amount of knowledge and training he packs into a one hour class was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The other students were extremely friendly and helpful. I’ll be back anytime I’m back on this side of town

Working away from home in the Weirton area and came in for some extra training Andrew and his gym was awesome and more than welcoming. Even let me train with no drop in mat fee. Great facility and nice big mat area to roll and lots of varying belt levels to get in good training with. Thanks alot for making my stay in and BJJ training in Weirton WV a great experience. A definite recommendation for anyone in the area.

A great place to train, the instructor is very passionate when it comes to teaching, and this is a place where you go to where you train hard, learn something new, and have a good time without getting injured.

I’m a purple belt and was in town for a few days and needed a place to train. I called up Andrew and he was warm and welcoming, even letting me come in to train without a mat fee. The facilities are clean and well managed and all the guys were friendly. The technique level is solid and the rolls were competitive. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

Andrew is a phenomenal teacher. Great place for people new to jiu jitsu. Very welcoming. Some people are afraid of getting hurt, or not being flexible enough to do it. No need to worry about that stuff here. Andrew can teach anyone from a 5 year old girl, to a 70 year old man, safely. If you can walk to the refrigerator, you can learn jiu jitsu from Andrew.

Started in the Spring. The Blue and purple belts were very welcoming to “The New Guy”. Good mix of age/gender and everyone is welcome. The kids look engaged and happy. The school is small enough you are always seeing the head instructor but large enough to have good size classes.

I’ve trained at a number of schools across the country and the environment, training, and instruction here are second to none! Whether you’re just looking to get a good workout in or compete at a high level, Andrew’s coaching is curated to every student and I’m sure you’ll find your spot. Highly recommend this school for anyone in the Tri-state and Pittsburgh area.

I have been training at Andrew Pardee BJJ for over two years now. I absolutely love this gym it is my home away from home. They offer multiple classes everyday so regardless of my work schedule there is always a class I can make. Andrew’s instruction is very detailed , he is very attentive to all his students and takes the time to make sure everyone in class understands what he is teaching, he always gives me that push I need to be better than I was the day before. My Jiu Jitsu game has gotten so much better since I started training here. There are to many gyms out there teaching bad Jiu Jitsu. You won’t find that here! On top of great instruction the gym is very clean and everyone is very friendly and welcoming to anyone new. GREAT place to train!

There isn't any other workout better than Jiu Jitsu! Cardio, endurance, strength(mental&physical) flexibility... just a few reasons why this place is fantastic! Coach Pardee is great with explaining and pushing to your limits.

I attended several MMA classes here with John Saxton as I slowly worked myself back into boxing after a several years hiatus. My main focus was on stand up striking, but I enjoyed learning all aspects of mma like kicks and grappling. Great for learning self-defense. Great cardio workout spiked my heart according to my fitness heart monitor. Very clean & friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Been a student here since January 2018 and loving it. This facility is always clean. Coach Andrew is a very technical instructor, and also very patient and willing to help you work through techniques. A true professional. My son also attends the little warriors class and I have seen a positive change in his self confidence. We are sharing and growing our jiujitsu experience together. I have not attended the judo or mma class however I have had the chance to train with Coach John (mma) in the jiujitsu class and he is also a true professional. The adult bjj class is very welcoming and all of the students and coaches are willing to help you grow. 1/20/19 update Still here and still love it. I have attended every class they have to offer and all instructors are top notch. Very friendly and welcoming environment. Most importantly they are knowledgeable instructors. 🥋🤼🇺🇸🇧🇷💪

I love the academy. I have gained confidence in bjj and it has shown threw competing. I have yet to get back in the cage since starting at the academy but when I do I will be coming out of the academy as my home gym and with these coaches. I also enjoy they have a very big program to be for everyone from woman only bjj and children bjj to mma classes and judo,so there is something for the whole family to learn and enjoy!

I have been training with Coach Andrew Pardee for about a year and a half. He is an excellent coach and a good friend. His academy is very clean, tons of mat space, and very accessible. There are showers in the men’s and women’s changing rooms. Andrew is very knowledgeable and passionate about Jiu Jitsu. This is very evident in the way he teaches. He offers a variety of classes which include the little warriors (kids) classes, GI and no GI classes, women’s self defense, and also MMA and Judo! There’s a little something for everyone! Come check us out. We would be happy to have you!!

I DO NOT recommend this gym for children or adults. My family and I started training here over a year ago, we were generally happy and did our best to remain loyal and a part of the team. We eventually decided to leave at the end of summer (2018) a year and a half in to our training. We could no longer deal with the gossip, drama and immaturity of the Head Coach Andrew Pardee. Andrew "requires" that his students are constantly loyal to him in and out of the gym, on every level. There were many issues and comments along the way, leading up to us leaving, that we tried to ingore. However, we ultimately decided that this was NOT a person we wanted coaching our son. His lack of structure and values, as well as constant demands for loyalty and respect from his students, always taking, but never giving back, was just something we could no longer tolerate. We decided to move on, telling Andrew that we were leaving and parting ways. After leaving the gym, the gossip and immaturity from Andrew got worse. There are facebook posts directed at me, my husband AND my son! Bad mouthing my family around town to anyone who will listen and calling us "creatons" for moving on. All because we decided this gym was no longer a good fit. I find it appalling that someone who advertises an "antibully" program for children, is such a bully and immature person himself. Ultimately, we are very glad we left. Use caution when bring children in to this environment!!
