My daughter has trained at Black Cat MMA for almost two years. Coach Josh Fowler is top notch! He is an excellent mentor and jiu jitsu expert. The kids class provides a good foundation for self-defense, as well as the basics of jiu jitsu. I highly recommend Black Cat MMA!

I honestly can't say enough good things about Black Cat. My daughter started in the Kitten Kombat classes in January, and I started the Kickboxing classes in June. Josh (the owner) does an excellent job with the kids, and it's been a lot of fun watching my kid get more confident with herself and get stronger. She's made several friends and adores going to class and asks me every day if it's a jujitsu day. She also loves it when Josh's daughter helps with class. The kickboxing classes are awesome and a lot of fun. The instructors are great; very patient, knowledgeable, and give very good constructive criticism when needed. It can definitely be intimidating to start a class with a bunch of tough looking guys filling the class, but everyone there is nice and encouraging. It's a great culture where I genuinely feel like everyone wants everyone else to succeed. If you're interested, I highly recommend checking them out. Black Cat really is a great place to train and work out.

Black Cat is an excellent gym with an unrivaled culture! I have attended classes since the day the gym opened and I have always felt that I have fun and safe place to learn and grow in martial arts and as a person. Josh is a fantastic teacher, mentor, and friend to his students. He is very knowledgeable and he explains concepts in a way that can be easily understood by all. If you’re thinking about getting into martial arts, look no further!

THE BEST. This place trains at a National level. Josh taught me basically everything I know about self-defense and BJJ. It gave me a huge advantage in belting up when I hit the fleet in the military. I took my wife to see him as well and she learned a lot and loved it! Bottom line. They know their stuff, really, and it is presented highly effectively.

Solid place to train. Best MMA gym in Morgantown. All the coaches have a lot of knowledge in their respective sports. The owner, Josh Fowler, has always been one of the most knowledgeable martial artists I know. He’s also pretty quick with a joke. Definitely stop in Black Cat MMA if you’re wanting to get into shape, start a new hobby, learn to defend yourself, or want to compete. They offer mma, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiujitsu, kali, and wrestling classes.
