I dropped in unannounced after being away with work and taking a look at their timetable online. Everyone was very welcoming including the coach, very good team and great gym. Foxy was showing me everything they’re doing for the local community/youths and it’s amazing. If you’re in the area I’d strongly recommend you drop in and if you’re local looking at getting into training it’s a very welcoming gym to train at. Thanks for having me

Absolutey brilliant gym. Foxy and the team put their heart and soul into ground control and the youth hub and it really shows. Foxy doesn't just coach the kids jiu jitsu he teaches them discipline and respect in a real positive manner. My son loves this place.

My daughters been going here for around 5 weeks now and she has shown amazing progress. Not only does the coach teach them jiu jitsu but also teaches them discipline & respect. I would highly recommend Ground Control for any one looking for Jiu Jitsu in Huddersfield.

An absolute gem of a gym. Fox and the team were so welcoming to a visiting grappler. Coaching style and instructions were top notch and I definitely picked up a few nuggets to take back to Results Gym in Forfar, Scotland. Thanks for all the rolls guys. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the area.

This is an absolute gem of a place not just for my children but for myself too. Being a part of Ground Control is like being a part of another family. You really do feel like you belong. Shanny and Foxy (the coaches) are 2 of the most sincerest and nicest people I have ever met, who really care for each and every person that walks through the door. I not only highly recommend this place, I urge everyone who reads this to go and try BJJ here at least once, just so you can understand the benefits of this form of martial arts and to really feel what its like to be a part of the Ground Control family . 10 stars xxx

Have been coming here for 6 months and the place is amazing. Instructors are supper friendly, sessions are fun and you really feel the team spirit. There is a mix of male and female students, a male and a female owner/instructor. If you are out of shape and want to come train, people will be very supportive of that and will look after you. Great place

Absolutely wonderful place. Foxy and Shanny were hugely welcoming to me when I started training there in early 2024. I had recently recovered from an injury when I joined so they were especially supportive and accommodating to get me back to fitness! The vibe and range of training partners is incredible as well.

Really friendly environment. Highly recommend trying the place out. Perfect if you want to simply keep fit or if you want to be more serious and compete. It’s for everyone including kids classes and women only classes.
