Leny Jiu Jitsu is an amazing place to train. The coaches are knowledgeable, and always willing to help when you need it, whether you’re brand new or more experienced. The training partners are all great too—everyone works hard, pushes each other, and keeps a positive, respectful environment. We train seriously, but also have fun and stay safe doing it, which always makes coming to the gym a good time. Highly recommend Leny Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to improve their skills and be part of a solid team.
Leny’s Jiu Jitsu has been an amazing experience for our family. My son started when he was 4 years old, and he absolutely loves going to class. The instructors do an incredible job teaching discipline, respect, confidence, and strong work ethic while still making learning fun for the kids.
We have seen so much growth in his focus, self-control, and confidence since joining. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and motivating for students of all ages. My son started about a year ago at Leny Jiu Jitsu and was coming from a gym that he really loved. I told him that we would try it out and if it didn’t suit him, he could go back to the old gym. He was a little nervous about starting fresh in this new environment. Having said that, what he found was not only a welcoming culture, but a new home. The coaches from Leny Jiu Jitsu were very friendly and helpful in this transition for him. Needless to say, we wouldn’t think of changing gyms again! We are overly satisfied with the coaching and culture of Leny Jiu Jitsu and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an introduction to the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to get folded up by friends while they joke about it, this is the place for you. The coaches here are absolute monsters on the mat but also the kind of people who’d help your grandma carry groceries.
I’ve known a lot of these guys for years, and they’ve combined high-level technique, wrestling, and stand-up comedy into one terrifyingly effective program. The gym’s only been open about a year, but they’ve already collected more talent than most places do in a decade.
Huge mat space, awesome downtown San Antonio location, and a wrestling program that makes you realize you’ve been shooting takedowns wrong your entire life. It’s also family-friendly which makes is easy to bring your kids for growth, mutual suffering and group stretches.

I popped in for a visit and am very glad that I did! The instruction was next level and the environment was incredibly friendly. This gym covers the gambit of grappling levels. You can roll with peers or below to get reps or you can feel like a day 1 white belt with some world class practitioners
In the interest of transparency, I am one of the coaches here. I still get to review things, though, so here: Coach Leny teaches systems that work together. He has trained with the actual best practicioners on the planet, and has also been a top tier competitor. He is a licensed educator in the state, who has worked with kids across the learning spectrum. Come visit, and see for yourself.
I had an incredible experience at Leny Jiu Jitsu gym! The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming, and everyone made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. All of the instructors Ben, Nick, and Jay were very knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to teach me valuable techniques. My family and I have known Ben and his wife for many years. Ben is a key instrument in our son’s wrestling and JJ instruction. It’s a rare place where you can be taught by a world class coach and coaching staff. Some of the highest level JJ players in the State. Highly recommend if you reside in the Southtown!
I have spent much time in gyms across the state of Texas and can say that there is a right and wrong way to learn jiu jitsu and there are right and wrong places to train depending on your goals. Leny JJ is the rare gym that teaches great jiu jitsu and is the right place to train no matter what your goals are. On any given night you will have the opportunity to train with multiple world and national champions and athletes competing at the highest level of their sports. Simultaneously, this is an incredibly approachable gym which fosters a family atmosphere that is welcoming to people of all levels and abilities. Great atmosphere and amazing practitioners. I dropped in for Saturday open mat, visiting from out of town. I was immediately greeted with a friendly atmosphere. Amazing talent with Professor Ben and his students. Professor Nick and I had great rounds of training, sharing with me some of his world-class jiu jitsu. I have been training for a very long time, and have dropped in many schools. This one here has a very special thing going on there. Ben and Nick are building a top-notch school. If you live in the San Antonio area or just passing through like I was, and want to train and learn from the best. Do yourself a favor and drop in.
Incredible experience at Leny Jiu Jitsu. I started training here because they offer deals for SAPD Officers. I highly recommend this place to anybody, but especially if you are in law enforcement. The coaches are very knowledgeable and the environment is welcoming to all. It's a great place to learn a new skill and get a great workout in a safe and controlled environment.

I went in for my first jiu jitsu class after about a year off. Everyone was very welcoming, willing to work with me, and meet me where I’m at. I also absolutely loved the kid area so my daughter had somewhere to play while I trained.
Top notch gym with top notch instructors and drills. Hands down the number one jiu jitsu gym I have ever been to, super clean and well maintained along with great people and instructors make this gym super appealing. The instructors teach very technical and advanced movements all while making sure safety is the number one focus. If the instructors or any of the more advanced gym members see that you are struggling they wont hesitate to stop what they are doing to go and help you, which gives you a sense of security and lets you know that nobody there is going to let you fail. Great gym with a great group of people.

I’ve trained at a bunch of gyms since starting BJJ, and after moving to San Antonio, I tried out several in the area. Leny Jiu Jitsu Academy stood out right away. The coaching here is top-notch, and the atmosphere is super welcoming and supportive. Ben and the other coaches really focus on technique and safety, which makes a huge difference. The rolls and drills are tough but safe, and it’s the perfect place to push yourself and get better.

Stopped in for an evening gi class. Received warm welcomes. Plenty of females in the class too, which is a beautiful thing to see! I've been training for over 9 years and still got some gold details from the technique shown. Had great live training. Vibes are good and space is clean. Parking lot was full but easily found street parking. Hope to return soon, thanks for having me!

Joined the open mat today September 14th. The practitioners that belong to the gym were amazing. Respectful. Knowledgeable. And we’re not out for blood. You know when a gym is amazing when the bathroom has mouthwash, saline solution, women’s products. That is the sign of a gym and ownership that cares about those who visit and their practitioners. Really an amazing facility that was only outdone by the people who were there and those who run the gym. Thank you all who made it an amazing experience
My son Romeo goes for open mat on Saturdays and has a great time rolling with everyone. Lenny and Jason are always willing to give pointers along with the other adults that are there rolling. Great school, great instructors, great vibe all around! I highly recommend a visit to Leny jiujitsu

Leny Jiu Jitsu is one of the best gyms I’ve ever attended. It’s led by a three time world champion, and the team is great for seasoned competitors or people who are just looking to do jiu jitsu as a hobby. I love the environment, and it’s a great team. I’d highly encourage anybody to try it out.
