Dropped in from Australia and felt welcome from the very first step into the gym. Vince taught the AM class, which was super insightful, he’s a great coach!
If you’re in Austin definitely come train at B team!
Amazing people great atmosphere and you will definitely improve whether you are just visiting or staying for good! They have created something special that suits everyone. A great place to train as a girl too! So many lovely high level women to train with.
I only attend the 6 PM beginners class with Coach JB, and it’s been a great way to get back into jiu-jitsu after more than 10 years off the mats. JB’s focus on the fundamentals and his ability to break things down makes it easy to shake off the rust and enjoy training again. Whether you're a complete rookie or just looking to sharpen your basics, JB's class is the perfect place to be.
Been attending the evening classes at B-Team. JB is a great instructor and competitor. He provides clear and concise details for all of his students, whether they are a new hobbyist or a seasoned competitor. This adds to the great, welcoming atmosphere that B-Team has built.
I trained here for nearly two years, and I would still be training here if I hadn’t had to relocate so far away for work. I credit coach JB for the entirety of my game. I highly recommend JB's fundamentals class from 6-7 PM.
As a white belt life can be pretty scary and harsh. Being at the bottom of the totem pole is not a fun place to be. However after taking JB’s fundamentals class I now have the confidence to take on anyone who challenges me. The path is not easy and can be intimidating at times, luckily JB is very supportive and pays attention to the details of each individual to help them develop better technique as needed. It is safe to say that JB has made a huge influence on my jiu jitsu journey and I can’t imagine life without the white belt program.
Also if you want to take things one step further J-DAWGS wrestling class on Friday’s at 7pm is an absolute hit. If you are tired of getting taken down so easily and want girls to start noticing you wrestling on Friday is where you NEED to be. Out of this world details brought to you by one of the best wrestlers on planet earth. If you are serious about becoming the best man you can be then come wrestle Friday nights.
Last but certainly not least is the big dog Chris Wojciks advanced class. This is the high level training you’ve been looking for. Chris is an absolute monster on the mats and can quite literally teach jiu jitsu to anyone. I can’t thank Chris enough for the patience and effort he puts in to each one of his classes.
As someone that made the jump moving across the country to Austin . JBs fundamentals class made me feel at home , the class structure improved my game and JB as a coach has advanced my game with his in depth knowledge of any position or transition I’ve had … the man is world class … he’s definitely worth his weight in gold along with others such as Declan in the morning class nothing short of amazing in that room
Awesome atmosphere to train. Relocated here about 6 months ago, and the 6:00 class with JB is awesome, has helped me improve a ton in all facets of bjj: building a stronger wrestling game, an offensive guard style, adding submissions to the arsenal, and confidence in my abilities against tough competition. He teaches a big variety of techniques and moves the instruction at a pace where I can pick up the content with no issue.
Can’t say it enough, if you’re looking to get better at bjj in a great group of people, I highly recommend the fundamentals class with JB.
Love learning from JB Bechtloff and Chris Wojcik. These guys are active competitors at the highest level and have so much knowledge to impart. B Team in general has a deep bench of talent, but their classes specifically are always very professional and a ton of fun. Cannot recommend them enough.
I’ve been training at B Team for nearly two years and can’t say enough good things about this group. The people are awesome and a great group to be around. The training and coaching are top-level. I started here as a white belt and feel like my game has evolved tremendously.
90% of the classes I attend are JB’s 6pm fundamental class. You get a range of talent in that class from people just starting to people who have been training for a number of years. I can promise you if you are just starting or trying to up your game, attend JB’s class. He was a collegiate wrestler and has been doing jiu-jitsu for 15-odd years now and was recently promoted to black belt. His teaching style emphasizes the direction jiu-jitsu seems to be moving in which incorporates more wrestling, fast pace, passing, etc. He is the main reason my game has evolved so much.
Best place to train in the country/ in Austin for any competitive high level grapplers.
JB also runs an amazing white belt course as well for white belts looking to improve and build solid fundamentals that they can build off of.
I had the opportunity to train at b team for about 3 months with coach J, B, he is an amazing teacher. I couldn't give higher praise to this man. He taught me so much in this short period of time.I was there, definitely changed my game and made me a way better bjj a athlete
I highly recommend everybody that has the opportunity to go and train with j. B should do so, because the man is next level. Cheers brother
Walked into this gym with no grappling experience and no knowledge of the pedigree I was stepping into. The quality of the training partners is unmatched, because of the fame of the gym you could be rolling with a new person visiting every day. Plus the staff is top notch. I have been going to the Fundamentals class taught by JB Bechtloff. JB is a great teacher, and his instruction has significantly boosted my progress as a grappler.
If you’re in the Austin area, and are looking to train jiu jitsu, I cannot recommend bteam jiu jitsu enough.
Coach JB’s Fundamentals class is outstanding. JB’s coaching is technical and effective, breaking down high-level movements into something easy to understand. The atmosphere in class pushes you to learn and improve while not being afraid to fail. Jb’s attitude in the gym makes it easy to learn and keeps me motivated to show up everyday!
Highly recommended for all levels!
Great gym to call home. The instructors are all top notch and it offers a great variety of style and technique. Been training for 6 years now (2 years with B Team) and even the beginners class with JB is full of gold.
I really enjoy the b team atmosphere. The pros are super nice and welcoming to even the hobbyists. JB does a great job with the fundamentals classes and will give you the help you need to advance to the next level. Very patient with the beginners
Blue belt here. I’ve been training at B-Team for about 1yr and 10 months. Since the time I started in the white belt program taught by JB Bechtloff, my Jiu Jitsu has greatly improved. But more importantly, my confidence and mental sharpness has significantly increased thanks to JB and Chris Wojcik’s instructional lessons, and the overall great evening community there. Because I work during the day, I don’t have an opportunity to access the daytime classes. Therefore , it’s greatly appreciated that time is given by some of the professional athletes to instruct and inspire me in the evenings. If you’re a daytime worker looking for evening meta fundamentals and/or meta advanced classes, I highly recommend JB and Chris’ evening classes at B-Team.
The white belt program is from 6-7pm and evening advanced 7-8pm. Because there’s only 1hr for the white belt program, you’d think there’s not enough time delegated to live drills, but JB really makes it work within the hour! He will definitely work you to make sure you walk away with some knowledge and skill that is actually useful. Highly recommended to law enforcement and military folks.
The advanced classes taught by Chris are effective and practical, especially for us big guys who aren’t as flexible. The techniques are advanced, but Chris does an excellent job breaking each technique down to make sure that we understand how to apply the technique. If something isn’t working, he’ll help you make the adjustments needed in order to ensure t that you arrive at the same or similar goal.
Joined here right after they started the white belt program with coach JB! I have learned so much from him and the rest of the crew, and got my blue belt after a few months of incredibly fruitful training. If you're ever in the area, you gotta check it out.
Training at B Team for over 1 year now. High level instruction and training. I have trained at several places due to moving for work. Primarily train in the evenings with JB Bechtloff which has been a game changer for me. If you are interested in starting BJJ or even if you are already into it, stop in and let JB tune up your game.
Dropped in for a week while visiting Austin. Declan was the coach for the morning sessions he was friendly and welcoming. The instruction was top notch and everyone was really friendly. Rounds were technical and tough if you're visiting drop in.
BTeam Jiu-Jitsu strikes a rare balance: it’s a place where genuine expertise meets a relaxed, welcoming environment. The mats are filled with highly skilled training partners who can push your technique forward, yet they’re always willing to break down what just happened, instead of simply overwhelming you. JB, who covers 6pm, offers instruction that’s both accessible and deeply insightful—his ability to refine even the smallest detail can give your game an entirely new direction.
Despite the high caliber of coaching, there’s no air of intimidation. The camaraderie is strong and unforced, making it easy to feel at home. Adding to the atmosphere is the carefully chosen music, courtesy of Jorge, whose varying playlists somehow matches each training session’s energy. The entire facility is maintained with a level of cleanliness that’s genuinely impressive, leaving you confident that every detail has been considered.
Even the gym’s merchandise manages to be both clever and understated, a subtle nod to the sense of humor that runs throughout BTeam. In all, it’s a place that takes the art of jiu-jitsu seriously, but never forgets that enjoyment and community go hand in hand. If you’re looking for world-class instruction, a welcoming culture, and a setting that encourages both learning and a quiet, knowing smile, BTeam Jiu-Jitsu is well worth your time.
Cool gym! Damien Anderson taught the class when I visited. $50 drop in fee at the time (few months back) but it was worth it. Saw some old friends, great class on ashi garami. I think they have showers, but I did not use. The transition to sign a waiver and pay the drop in fee was easy. Scan the QR code drop in and you’re on the mat. 🤙
I had the best experience at the B- Team gym. The staff were welcoming to visitors, and I really enjoyed Vince’s class. He was super helpful - when I was struggling with a technique, he had no problem going over it with me again. Once the class was over, Liz and Vince took the time to work with me on a few things before my super fight the following day. I look forward to going back in a few months, thank you!
Absolutely awesome gym to train Jits, myself and my Irish friend dropped in for an AM class with Vince.. we had a blast, great vibe & super welcoming atmosphere. Big love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Traveled from Costa Rica came for a morning class and Vincent was great, loved the class, facilities and the whole experience! Seth and Craig have created truly something special here in Austin!
Amazing experience at B Team.
Came down from Canada and learned a ton plus an amazing and welcoming environment: next time I’m in Austin I’ll be on the mats again.
Great experience at B Team! Blue belt visiting from Colorado. Did two drop in class taught by Vince and Ethan, got so much out of both classes. They were really welcoming and got some great live rounds after class. Awesome facility!
Dropped in for the morning class while visiting Austin. Great technique! Great coaching! Great people! Would’ve loved to see some of the founders but I can see why thats hit or miss. Definitely planning on coming back
Dropped in for a morning class while in Austin for work. Professor Vince was great. Very welcoming and took time to help with techniques. The fellas at the gym were great too. I’d love to get back some day. Cheers!
Dropped in to B team for their 8am class. Everyone was extremely welcoming. After a solid class ran by Vince (who was very thorough and helpful) we did some live training and everyone was really cool. No egos, just safe fun training. I’ll be going back next time I’m in Austin 🤘
Awesome class with Vincent Barbosa. I think Vincent is one of the lesser known characters on the B-team squad, but his class was absolutely awesome. Super clean facility. No egos. Safe training environment for this 44 year old blue belt ;-)
Welcoming, friendly. A room full of world class athletes. Simply can’t beat this place. Peaches on the front desk a super guy. The pros teach sessions very well. Vince took wrestling classes which were top notch.
I dropped in a B team today, the facility was awesome and all the dudes were super cool, I absolutely recommend anyone dropping in when in town. The instructor Vince was awesome and way better than anyone at Renzo‘s🤣
Such a great place to train jui jitsu. The academy is clean, has tons of space, and the people were awesome. The coaching staff and training partners are high level as well as super welcoming.
Vince’s 8am class was great! Solid technique and then positional rounds and then some live rolls. The class was very technical with lots of great details. I was a visitor and everybody was very welcoming. Had a great time and hope to be back again.
I got the opportunity to train with B-team while I was In Austin getting my USAW certification.
The technique and training partners is what really makes this place incredible. Everyone is fit, and everyone is pushing to get better. Some of the positions we worked on were completely foreign to me.
Nicky Rods a cool dude, got to roll with him and got to gauge the gap between me and him. I got to have great conversations with a lot of the guys there. Real cool dudes, they even referred some of their friends to come to my wrestling club in Houston.
Had the opportunity to stop in and train at B-Team. Everyone was very welcoming and Vince taught a great class. His level of instruction and attention to detail is very high level and he did a great job breaking down each move. Will definitely be coming back to Austin in the future just to train here again!
Without a doubt the best training I've had and the best Gym I've ever visited. The team is very welcoming and unbelievably knowledgeable. I can't recommend training here enough.
Vince was very informative and thought a great class! Thank for opening yall doors on Memorial Day to veterans. Had a great experience will definitely come back!
High level, clean mats and always new people to roll with! Craig was not there during our stay which opened up for a safer enviroment for everyone 🤪😂 11/10 would come again!
I had an amazing time at Vince’s 8 am class. Instruction was incredible and both the staff and students were incredibly helpful and friendly. I will be back.
Dropped in as a visitor to 8am class this morning. Everyone was very welcoming and Vincent ran a great class including taking the time to help visitors like me w our technique. Highly recommend for anyone already training somewhere else but travelling through Austin to drop in for some training.
I was on vacation and stopped by for a drop-in class. The staff was helpful and the sign in was super user friendly with the QR link. Damien taught the class and went over some advanced techniques with great attention to detail. It was a welcoming atmosphere and I recommend stopping in if you have the opportunity.
Thanks again for having us in for today's 12 noon class. As always you and the B-Team crew didn't disappoint.
It's been a long time since I've been in a room full of legit Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling guys.
As I mentioned to Craig out of my 16-18 so years on some form of wrestling/Jiu-Jitsu mats.
The B-Team has by far surpassed all of my expectations.
The atmosphere and friendship in the room is amazing.
...NO EGO'S AT ALL...
The "Pros" on the mat are extremely helpful and willing to break down techniques.
My teammates and I really enjoyed our selves.
Will definitely be back for more open mats in the future.
If your in the area I highly suggest visiting as the level in the room is game changing you will not regret it well worth the money and almost 160 mile round trip.

World class Jiu Jitsu instruction while being incredibly nice and welcoming to guests. What other sport can you show up at their gym and practice with top pros?! Just check their schedule online, scan the QR code inside the door, and enjoy the next 2 hours. They have showers you can use if you bring a change of clothes and a towel. Don’t be fooled by the google maps taking you to Taco Bell just look for the Mexican ground karate sign to the left of golds gym and follow the hallway with no lights (not kidding). If you are local this is a must membership!
World class training at a comfortable, spacious facility. Got to drop in for a class while in Austin. . . Instantly up your game by training with the friendly folks at B-Team!
BEWARE: This is NOT the same as “The A Team” (the popular TV show from the 80s). I was mildly disappointed when I came, thinking this was some sort of homage to the popular TV series. After paying my entrance fee, I was told to wait on some sort of sponge type flooring while having to remove my shoes. Being an avid fan of the 80s TV series I went along. The leader of this fan club came out and I could tell instantly he was from New Zealand, or South Africa or Boston, I can’t be sure (so clearly not a true American fan). For the next hour or so I was forced to wrestle with men in tight clothing (consequently the only reason for the 5 star rating, but, I digress) Absolutely ZERO reference to A-Team TV show, with the exception of some white guy with a mow-hawk who happens to be named Tyler (aka Mr. T). Not a single picture of the famed TV show on the wall, except for some copy of the logo that didn’t even get the letter right. If you are looking for anything to do with the TV show, this is not the place. If you are a fan of wrestling with other men; I highly recommend.
I trained here last Friday and Saturday and had a great time. Nick and Damien are fantastic instructors and make a point to make sure everyone understands the techniques. Everyone was friendly and the gym has a positive vibe. Had some fun and competitive rolls. Would highly recommend checking this place out.
World-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, specializing in no-gi submission grappling competition. Great atmosphere, skilled room, good rolls when I visited. If you want to get some experience with these guys, just call them or stop in and chat.
Great gym with really high quality coaches and clean atmosphere. A very high focus on respect and community on and off the mat, I would highly recommend for anyone that can to come train here.
B Team Jiu-Jitsu was tight. I didn't actually train there or get to go in. I did get to watch the Australian fella do some of that Mexican Ground Karate to another guy. Looks like they might have been filming the missing scenes from that Jiu-Jitsu movie. I dunno. I knew better than to knock, the door was locked. I'll go back again and try to convince them to let me train there another time.
Place is awesome.
Great coaches
Solid people they recruited and brought in to create to a great culture of people.
No egos is another crucial thing every gym needs and they did a great job keeping that out.
A great place to train, but not great when it comes to cancelling membership or getting in touch.
I signed up for a month and then left Austin, and they never answered their phone or responded to emails to cancel the membership, and I tried for weeks.
Improvements needed for customer service.
